  1. Hey Annie, Good luck with the search for a CT. I put one on a couple weeks ago and now have 100 miles on it. Seems real good to me so far. Miles will tell all though.   3. Hey, thanks guys. Checked and it had 40psi, and felt a bit soft yesterday, so before I take it out again, I'll bump it up to 42psi. But that front tire is awesome. Steve
  4. I can't help you out with an answer, but if I were in your position, I'd still take it back to the mechanic that worked on it, and have him check all of the hoses and fittings, and what ever else he thinks. Better safe than sorry. Steve
  5. Hey Dan, I've been driving by that barn for several years now, and it is used as a barn, not in the best shape for sure. Actually, there is this very cool, strange house, if you will just up the road, and for sale that I wanted to see. And turned on some really cool back roads to get back home on. The back roads ALL had sand on the corners still from last winter, so be careful on them. Had to take a bunch of pics to actually get me, the bike and the barn all in the picture. I think the out west guys might just get the burma shave one though. Steve

  8. Got the HD rear on the front yesterday, (backwards) and man it really feels great, and solid, 38psi in the front. doesn't follow any tar snakes and the rear nexen feels softer. I put 42psi in, but will check it today to see where it is after a short ride. Did take it real easy though. Need more miles on it to really tell. Steve
  9. I use furniture polish myself, yup, the whole bike. But, one of the windshield manufacturers has a formula that they came up with to wash the windshield, (can't remember which one) and I carry this with me in my saddlebag. Makes 1 quart = 1 liter of windshield washing fluid 1/2 cup - 100cc ammonia (double this if you have a lot of bugs) 2 cups - 400cc alchohol (I used rubbing alcohol) 1.5 tsp - 8cc car wash detergent (don't substittute dish soap or laundry detegent) 2 cups - 500cc water We recommend using only micro-fiber cleaning towels on your windshield Walter, There is one other thing that might be the cause of your windshield being cloudy, and that's the clearcoat that is on both sides. Take a piece of painters tape and stick it on, (I'd try this in a lower corner as a trial) then pull it off. Do both sides in this very small area. If it is the clearcoat, it will come off with the tape. You will then have a clear windshield. I ended up doing my entire windshield, both sides, then using pledge afterwards. Worked great. Steve

  11. Reminds me of last winter, out ice fishing and a kid on a dirt bike, studded up, took off and rode on the back wheel all the way across the lake and back. He was having fun for sure. Steve
  12. Yup, we mounted it over at my friends, with his HF changer and balancer. To answer a few questions, I plan on starting at 40 psi, and then trying 42 as Lowell did and see where I go from there, but a good place to start. I started at 70psi to try to get it to seat, but that didn't do it, I think I ended up around 80psi with the help of some WD-40. I also have a lowering kit on the back which doesn't make mounting it any easier. Had to let the air out to get it back in. I think the hardest part was trying not to get any of that molydnium disulfide grease on the WWW's. When I stopped at the Harley shop and put a front MT90-16 with the arrow going forward,and a rear MT90-16 next to it also going forward, it was just as you said, the front pattern faced the opposite way as the rear, so when I turned the rear around going the wrong way, it was the same as the front going the correct way, of course the harley shop wanted $50 more than I could get it for, so i ordered it and it should be here tomorrow. I'll get it mounted this weekend. Like I said, the first 100 miles or so should be interesting. Steve

It seems that they make or sell anything that you could want and then some. I know that pegscraper got his tire from there. I don't think that they sell motorcycle tires, but not sure on that one.   16. Here's my suggestion, go to your local store that sells chaps and buy a pair. there will be posts to where you will find the best deal, but they, for the most part are all the same, little price difference so just go out and buy a pair. There are no magic chap deals. Hope that helps, Steve
  17. Well, I finally got it on today, and I was very nervous about this whole process. I went very well, got the old one off easily, the new one went on, not quite as easily as the old one came off, but not too bad. It's a Nexen, 165-80/15 that I had Diamond Back vulcanize a 2 1/4" whitewall on each side. I NEED whitewalls!!!!!!!! NOW, beading it up was another thing, did it probabaly 6 times total, each time adding a little more air,and finally (with lowell's sugestion) a little WD-40, and when it popped, made me jump for sure, but it's on, and balanced. Now waiting for my Harley Davidson, rear, MT-90-16 to come on Tue, and then I'll mount that one backwards on the front. This is a Dunlop 402 MT-90/16 WWW, which is 1 3/4". All I can say is that the first bunch of miles should be very interesting! Steve

  19. My 05 RSTD sidestand, total length is 17" On the other hand, my little bobbers sidestand is 5" long, and still a little too long. Steve
  20. We're supposed to get half a foot or so tomorrow. Good time to be in the garage working on the bikes. New rear tire on the RSTD and solving my wiring problem on the bobber. Steve

Just got off of the Dunlop site, and they make a good point about putting a rear tire on the front with the new tire technology: ---RAIN GROOVES--- Tires a designed to expell the rain from the center of the tire, or pull it away-- If you look at a tire mounted backwards, you will notice that the rain grooves channel the rain towards the center of the tire, not away from the tire. Then look at a tire mounted with the arrow in the correct direction. This seems like a bad idea to me. But then again, I'm not a tire expert. I am now rethinking this idea of putting a rear on the front. Food for thought, Steve
  22. I've been looking at doing this, and what I am thinking about is a Dunlop 402 (HD) MT90-16 WWW I don't know about other manufacturers, but this tire, has 5/32" tread depth for the front and 9/32" tread depth for the rear---same size tire too. Steve
  23. I had a 1st gen venture, and have never ridden a 2nd gen venture, but I do have an 05 RSTD, and it is pure pleasure to ride. I have it set up solo. You can check out my pics. Steve
