  1. Yup, totally agree. It's just the way it is, and actually I'm surprised that you were surprised at the dealers quote.
  2. So, Dan, your next post will be you sitting on that beautiful trike?

I was thinking the same thing. a small hole with a small EZ out doesn't have much of a chance. I'd use the method BlueSky suggested.

A simple search: A Friend passed me this... I've not tried it... “Machinist’s Workshop” recently published information on various penetrating oils. The magazine reports they tested these products for break out “torque” on rusted nuts and bolts. A subjective test was made of popular penetrating oils, with the unit of merit being the torque required to remove the nut from a “scientifically rusted” bolt. Average torque load to loosen nut: No Oil used ……………………516 foot pounds WD-40 ………………… ……..238 foot pounds PB Blaster …………………….214 foot pounds Liquid Wrench ………………….127 foot pounds Kano Kroil …………………….106 foot pounds ATF/Acetone mix…………………. 53 foot pounds The ATF/Acetone mix is a “home brew” mix of 50/50 automatic transmission fluid and acetone. Note this “home brew” released bolts better than anycommercial product in this one particular test. Our local machinist group mixed up a batch, and we all now use it with equally good results. Note also that Liquid Wrench is almost as good as Kroil for 20% of the price. ATF/Acetone mix is best, but you can also use ATF and lacquer thinner in a50/50 mix. ATF = Any type of Automatic Transmission Fluid. This version of the story was in one of the Military Vehicle Club newsletters

  13. Oh man Puc, I'm glad that your getting the care that you need, and of course only you could write it up like this. Heal up and I'll see you on down the road.

  16. So with the coming election, several celebrity types have promised to leave the country depending on who wins or loses. Great news! Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. I got to thinking about Y2K, remember people having go bags and bug out plans? Well in the event of the Zombie Apocalypse, or another two term democrat, would a bike make a good bug out vehicle?. If so what kind of bike? I'm with the 4X4 truck on this one.
  17. Domed sticker covering BIG dent.
  18. So, what would your order be?
  19. I think that a VR domed sticker will take care of that.
  20. WOW, Awesome, love it

  22. That's funny yammer. But an umbrella won't be necessary. Gary has a big mc shed, so I can supervise in comfort.
  23. Let me know what time your going to be at Garys and I'll ride up and supervise. but I'll need a chair
  24. I've just read 3 pages of comments on this issue, and just last week I was experimenting on this very thing. Pressing SET, and it lags back before coming up to the set speed. Pressing SET and ACCL and it locks in right now. The reason that I was playing with this is that last winter I installed a Rostra CC on my Vstrom and when I set that one, it's set. And for as long as I can remember, I've always had to press set and accl on the RSTD. I was surprised that someone said that the manual says to press set and then accl. Never have read that thing. So I think that the answer to your question is that simple: do as the manual says and press set and accl.
  25. Great post Bubber, I couldn't agree more!
