  1. I'll tell you how I've fixed a couple of cracked tour pacs. On the inside: I super glued the crack to hold it in place while I used devcon plastic epoxy and fiberglass cloth. Lay a layer of devcon down on each side of the crack and then lay a piece of the fiberglass cloth on top the the epoxy, and be sure to squeeze the epoxy through the cloth, and soak the cloth. You might need to add a bit more epoxy. Let it dry. Then I put down a second layer. let it dry, spray it black and your done. Fixing the ouside so it looks better, you're on you own on that one. Good luck, Steve
  2. Gary, what a great picture of you and Mary. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Someday, Steve
  3. Hey Steve, Welcome to the darkside:Venture: I've always heard that the passenger says that it is a smoother ride. See ya on sat. Steve
  4. I agree, give it a little time. I felt the same way when i got my RSTD. Swore I'd never use that thing. Now, use it all the time. Steve
  5. from Venturedad
  6. those are my custom LED driving/fog lights. 6 watts of light and as bright as the 35watt halogens Where did you get those lights? A link maybe? Thanks, Steve
  7. IPB, What I had suggested was cutting the TAPERED ROLL PIN. And you can be very sure I DID NOT trash my bags, in fact doing what I did, no-one would ever know. I did this in a very precise manor. You might want to reread my post. Steve
  8. WOW, George, that is very interesting. I did google it and lots there to read. Nice having my eyes opened. And very nice to meet you up at PIP last year. You gonna be there this year too? Steve
  9. Ponch, I'm very sorry to hear that you lost your dad. The best to you. Steve
  10. Colemann Holligan 3 This is the best tent that I have used to date. Big enough for all of your stuff, pluss sleeping space, and a BIG/FULL rainfly. The vestibule is very handy for boots, etc. Steve http://www.coleman.com/coleman/ColemanCom/detail.asp?CategoryID=11070&product_id=2000001590
  11. Very nice job. I've always wanted a tach on my RSTD. With your laddle as the mount, it appears that it is resting on the housing. Did you use silicon so it won't scratch the housing? Do you get much vibration? Is a 2 1/2" guage available? Steve
  12. I think that you need to contact Rick and tell him of your butt pain. (again) No doubt he would work with you and get you a comforbable seat. Just because he did it once doesn't mean that he wouldn't rework it. Good luck, Steve
  13. Hey OddStar, Before you hit that deer, that was one sweet looking bike. I'm sure that you'll find the pieces and put her back together again. I used one of those dent guys this spring on my car. Amazing what they can do. It was nice that you and your wife could join us at the winery. Ya gotta stop that deer hunting, with the bike of course. Steve
  14. My daughter was like that when she was 11-12 years old. What a great time. Steve

If this thread ended now, you would know what pretty much everyone uses. I've used both. Steve
  16. AMA has a good site that lists all states motorcycle requirements. http://amadirectlink.com/legisltn/laws.asp Steve
  17. Lowell, Good luck on your move. Can't imagine moving all the pack rat stuff like you say though. Steve
  18. How well would they work under a full face helmet? Steve
  19. Thanks for the tip. I'll look for some. The ones I have been using are lacking in sound quality. Steve
  20. I have the same Nexen tire mounted and have a hard time believing that it blew at 80psi. What does it mean that it opened up the bead and the sidewall ? As far a one of the guys being responsible? Not a chance. In fact, I'd say that your'e lucky to find someone to even mount a car tire on a motorcycle rim. BTW, I mounted my own. Good luck on your next adventure. Steve
  21. Hi Annie, Glad you got er done. I do have one suggestion before you balance the wheel/tire. With very little air in the tire, bounce it up and down while rotating the tire. It will help in making sure the tire is seated well. Steve
  22. That was some good thinking. And a beauty of a bike. I don't think I've seen that color combo before. black/silver? VERY sharp! Steve
  23. Now that was cool to watch. Thanks, Steve
  24. Sharp That chrome really stands out and sets it off. Steve
  25. the only reason i can see they put a truck tire on the front of the royalstar is to give a little slower steering in the straight line I just had to quote Snarley Bill, it's the best description of the stock front tire that I've heard. I've had a 130 on the front of my 05 RSTD for two years now and it feels much lighter and more agile to me. Steve
