  1. rarely, only if I feel I need them. Steve
  2. Back out of this one as fast as you can. The only thing good that can happen out of this is someone will have your money and your bike. This is a pretty standard scam. I'm glad you haven't moved any money yet. Steve
  3. I think that you are going to find that there really is no BEST, but a lot of GPS's that we prefer. I would say that a garmin would be, in my opinion, the best manufacturer though. I have a 765T also and have nothing bad to say about it, in fact I'm just learning it. The garmin nuvi models, have most of the features that the Zumos have, but hundreds of $ less. Now, you can't spray a fire hose at them, but in 5 seconds it can be off of your handlebars and in your pocket. When I was looking it was the BUDGET that had a big influence. Good luck, Steve
  4. I went down to ACE last weekend to get a new bottle of stabil and saw this new, ethenol stabil, but I only use it to put the bikes/boat away for the winter, and only use non-ehtenol gas to boot, so, for me, no need. Jeff, all Kwik trips have premium,no ethenol gas. Just a heads up. Steve
  5. still once in a while when someone gets in the truck, they comment on the cassette player! LOL Probably a VentureRider Actually, when I had my 86VR i thought I was the only one who liked and used his cassette player. still have those cassettes. now only can use them in the player in the garage. Steve
  6. Hey Jeff, By this point in the day, I wouldn't want to be parked anywhere near that tree. It's really howling out there! In town here, any tree on the parkway, the village is responsible for. They trim them and take them down and no expense to the property owners. I was thinking fire wood when I saw your post. Also here, the property owner gets first chance at the wood. maybe a neighbor burns wood. Steve
  7. The best of luck to you Waterbug. I hope everything works out the best for you and your son. Steve
  8. This is a joke right? Steve
  9. Bummer, Really glad that you started this thread. I also have a 765T and adding a route, via mapquest is one of the things that I haven't tackled yet. I'll try it using the info here. Not to hijack the thread, but I can't figure out how to load songs on to my SD cards in the mp3 format. It always ends up in the default one. Thanks, Steve
  10. I'm looking to book a dog sled team to go ice fishing. Steve
  11. I'm with Jeff on this one. It's my fingers that get cold. I'd like to know the brand and model of climbing mitten you are talking about. I have always been on a quest for something to keep my fingers warm. My latest was to buy the best ice fishing gloves on the market--still not enough for those cold days. Jeff, tomorrow, mid 60s-I'll be out after 10:00am Steve
  12. Hey Lowell, Great to hear from you and the door is always unlocked and open for you. Glad to hear your getting some miles in on the bike and starting to feel better. If not this year, next year for sure, Steve
  13. Kudos to you for starting this thread. A very interesting topic which I think of when going into corners. For whatever reason, a right hand corner has always felt more comfortable, and natural to me. And I'm right handed for what that is worth. Steve
  14. Bob, You really don't want humidity in the garage do you? I'd go with the hanging, vented one myself. And there are lots of them on CL. Good luck, Steve
  15. Actually I did, but I kinda like the looks of the spoke wheels and tires. Steve
  16. I'd like to know who makes those tires and what size they are Steve
  17. What I did do however was have the stems rotated to come out on the right side (highside) of the bike so it makes adding air a little easier. Ruffy, thanks for the headsup on that, great idea. Steve
  18. Have you ever given any thought as to, if you did not have motorcycling in your life, what would the alternative be? That's easy, I'd be fishing. I just realized that I started riding 48 years ago, although there were some years in there where I spent all my time fishing, not riding. those years my bike sat, now my boat sits. Someday--------- Steve
  19. Hi Owen, Likewise, it was very nice to meet you at the PIP. And also glad to hear that you are back after and had a safe, but good trip. I'll look forward to your story, and pics. Steve
  20. Fit on the trailer? hell, you could pull the trailer with this one. Owl, it's the real you.:Cool_cool36: Steve
  21. You can drill it out. you should only have the converter in one side. I drilled mine out simply by drilling a series of holes around the outside diameter of the converter, as close to each other as possible, then after you have weakend it, take a pipe and knock it out. (you will need an aircraft bit, 1/4" will do, or in other words, a long drill bit.) As a side note, if you leave it in, it will get VERY hot. Good luck, Steve
  22. Gary, That is one good looking bike. Ya just never know where a good deal might just turn up, huh? Wonder what you'll have next week? Steve
  23. We have a full service station in town, and all of the stations around here have free air. so far, Steve
  24. It's good to be a moderator, huh Owl? I noticed the name change right away, and let me just say, that i was just glad to have a roof over my head Sunday night. Steve
