  1. That was a pretty timely reminder, mine was up in 6 days. Set for another year. Thanks Don, Steve
  2. My old cell works great. It's a motorla W385, and even has a camera, although I rarely use it. I'm looking for another one just like it for a backup. Steve
  3. I checked out the star rally and looks like I'll be working every day it's on. Maybe something might be going on in the evening somewhere though. I'll keep an eye out. It's only 15 miles down the road. Pete, I'd jump up to hwy 20 and run that across. two lanes and little traffic. Miles and time about the same as the slab. Orem UT to Casper WY to Valentine NE to Middleton WI. Steve
  4. Congratulations Rick, It's gotta be a great feeling not going in to work. See you this fall, Steve
  5. Hey Bob, Always good to see you. You made the 4,000mi. Glad you had a great trip. Steve
  6. WOW, I agree, gorgeous. Best looking seats I've ever seen on a MM. Now, can you imagine the grips done the same? I can. Steve
  7. sorry to hear that you had to let the bike go, but a guys gotta do what a guys gotta do. I'd love to see pics of the rat rod. I was out at the salt flats a few years ago, and there were lots of cool rat rods out there. Steve
  8. I have one on a disc that I could copy and send you the copy if you like. Let me know. Steve
  9. I wouldn't take a short cut on this one. For obvious saftey reasons. Take the wheel off and take it somewhere if you don't have the machine/tools to do it yourself. You need the wheel cleaned up more than likely. It's leaking for a reason. BTW, what's the latest with the mailboxes? Steve
  10. It's a little harder getting a higher average with 2 people but if your riding styles are similar and your companion doesn't need to stop for long meals you'll be fine. I understand some people have to eat regularly so you would have to factor that in. BOO I was going to say the same thing about traveling with someone, as your average WILL go down, because there is no way the riding styles will be the same. But, if they are, count yourself lucky. I've never found anyone that has my riding style, at least as far as stopping times. Steve
  11. Lookin good Bob, hope your having a great trip. Steve
  12. Boomer, Thanks for the information. I don't wear any patches myself, but coodos to you for letting us all know. I hafta say that I'm way more than surpised how many people are unaware though. The pygmys wear patches? Steve
  13. Ya, me too. I rank the Louiville cheerleaders #1! Steve
  14. My answer would be exactly the same, and it totally depends on the speed that I have been riding, and if I've been riding into the wind or not. Once I switch over to reserve, I have always felt that 40 more miles was safe. Never proved me wrong on this one. BTW, I also ride an 05 RSTD. Steve
  15. Dan, Don't you ever look at your local craigslist? Lots of deals to be had there. Buyer beware of course. Steve
  16. Having an 05 RSTD, bought new in 06, I still have 6 months left on my warrenty, and I've been following this very closely. I think your smart in saying very little. I'm sure they are watching this thread also. BUT, I can't believe with things breaking INSIDE the motor, that they wouldn't replace the entire motor. I mean, think about all of the pieces that let loose and were going all over inside. I'm thinking you'll have lots to say when it's all over, BTW, I also read it before going to the pics. BEST of luck to you, Steve
  17. How about a picture? Steve
  18. I mean, a conncecting rod breaks in half and they wonder if the warrenty covers it? come on. Do you have a pic of the top of another piston? Steve
  19. Think I saw it last night, lasted about 1 second. If I would have blinked, I would have missed it. And you got paid for that? WOW Must have been a shortened version. Steve
  20. Condor is right on, couldn't agree more. Steve
  21. Still haven't seen it. Steve
  22. That was certainly an interesting link Thanks, Steve
  23. Old Miner, Excellent post! This is the kind of stuff that really helps. I'll write the new numbers down and get some, so when I do my front brakes this spring I'll have these on hand. No doubt Yamaha switched for the obvious reasons. Thanks, and great pics. Steve
  24. Good luck Mini, Hope you don't have to wait too long to hear if your offer has been accepted. I'ts always exciting to get a new place to make your own. 4 acres, that's cool Steve
  25. Now THAT was funny :happy65::happy65::happy65: and probably true Steve
