  1. I'm very sorry to hear this. My condolences to Rick and his family
  2. They were always a bit too "Arlen Ness-y" for my tastes. Now they can concentrate on Indian, which is actually selling.
  3. You know that you and Tip are in my thoughts, and Most certainly tomorrow. The very best to you my friend!
  4. Hey, It's December, why the hell wouldn't there be snow?
  5. It's those steps backwards that worry me. I talked with him a short while back and at that time seemed like he was doing good. Sure hope things turn around for him. After all, he is a tough old OWL.
  6. looks like a copy of a rokon
  7. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Well said Don.
  8. You can remember that far back?
  9. Hey, I'm a Steve----:banana:no, really, Steve I pulled a Steve this past summer, I was riding my vstrom up to see Yooper on I-39 and saw a couple of bikes along side of the road, so I pulled up and asked if they needed any help, and you all know that 99% of the time, they (two middle aged couples) had stopped for some reason and didn't need any help, well, they did. Two couples on big Honda Goldwings, one with a flat rear tire. So I asked if they were going to fix it, and of course they had NO tire repair kits. I told them that I had everything to fix the flat if they wanted to. They did, so we set about plugging the rear tire, twice, two plugs the first time and one later. I plugged my pump into my 12v outlet and proceeded to pump it up. So now we have the flat fixed. I went to start my bike and found my bike DEAD. So, the lesson here is to leave your bike running when running the pump/slime pump. So a guy in a pickup stops, biker, gets his cables out and jump starts my bike. Not one person, other than the pickup stopped during this ordeal, which took a hell of a long time. We all went on our way and all was good. When I'm traveling on my bike, and I stop along side of the road for some reason, quite often I have folks, mostly on Harleys stop and ask if I need help.
  10. You got all winter to sleep
  11. With the weather that we've been having they are probably out riding instead of typing.
  12. The problem here as I see it is the word WORK.
  13. Yup, that is right, and in fact when I switched out my first CT, is was because I took off the rear wheel to lube the splines, and discovered it was wore out.
  14. xxx
  15. I took the Nexen off to lube the splines one spring and discovered it was about wore out, and that was at 30,000 miles. If I hadn't lubed the splines I'm sure I would have gotten several thousand more miles, but once I had it off, there was no way I was putting it back on, so just put on a MC tire for a year and then went to the BFG.
  16. I run that BFG on my RSTD, and have found that 45psi, and that is with balancing beads (don't know if the beads come into play, but thought I'd mention it) works best. I did run a CT before at a lower pressure and had that high speed back and forth, say passing a truck sometimes, and after a suggestion from a member, can't remember who to go to 45 and that was the ticket. As far as running on the edge? They stick like glue.
  17. I agree, helmet laws suck
  18. I can imagine! I'm actually surprised that she got on the back with you. Glad everything turned out safe.
  19. My riding season is over, Deer season done, bear season done......glad to be alive but man, my freezer was in need of a venison restocking!! I feel your pain, but look at it this way: You'll still be here next year. Maybe one of your buddies will help you out with some game.
  20. Welcome to the site. I bet you'll get more than $12 worth of info just on this one question. Now that's a fact.Did you accidentally hit the kill switch when all of this happened? You sure wouldn't be the first.
