Hey, I'm a Steve----:banana:no, really, Steve
I pulled a Steve this past summer, I was riding my vstrom up to see Yooper on I-39 and saw a couple of bikes along side of the road, so I pulled up and asked if they needed any help, and you all know that 99% of the time, they (two middle aged couples) had stopped for some reason and didn't need any help, well, they did. Two couples on big Honda Goldwings, one with a flat rear tire. So I asked if they were going to fix it, and of course they had NO tire repair kits. I told them that I had everything to fix the flat if they wanted to. They did, so we set about plugging the rear tire, twice, two plugs the first time and one later. I plugged my pump into my 12v outlet and proceeded to pump it up. So now we have the flat fixed. I went to start my bike and found my bike DEAD. So, the lesson here is to leave your bike running when running the pump/slime pump. So a guy in a pickup stops, biker, gets his cables out and jump starts my bike. Not one person, other than the pickup stopped during this ordeal, which took a hell of a long time.
We all went on our way and all was good.
When I'm traveling on my bike, and I stop along side of the road for some reason, quite often I have folks, mostly on Harleys stop and ask if I need help.
