  1. I'll keep looking at the map and the roads there. Lotsa time for that now. I'm camping by the pond and I will more than likely be pulling my small cyclemate trailer with all of my camping gear in it. I'll keep in touch with you as to my plans from Ludington. Ferry cost one way: 59 per person, 39 bike, 59 bike and trailer, 5?
  2. I'd say you nailed it!
  3. Puc, From my house to Don's is approx 500 miles with 99% being four lane roads and some of them right through HELL itself. Yeah, Chcago, I'm talking about you. There are several reason for taking this ferry, one is to avoid entire Chicago area! nuff said about that. Also to take a coal fired, steam powered ship across Lake Michigan. I also plan on taking two lane roads in MI., Going east out of Ludington, it seems that there are lots of roads heading south that are two lane. Thanks for the offer and I'll keep your place in mind. Lots of time to change my mind between now and then. An hour of interstate probably won't kill me.
  4. I use accuweather and one of our local weather apps and I also use raindar.
  5. Bad news fool, they don't sleep down there.
  6. I heard the same thing so I tried it on my step on the side of my truck where the paint had chipped off and was rusty. didn't work. then I tried some rust remover that I have and that seemed to work. now I just have to get some paint on it. Eck, I'm sure you've seen where guys have posted about using aluminum foil. I haven't tried it, but I sure don't doubt that it works. I'm sure that you would have to put some type of finish/sealer/polish over it after using the foil.
  7. Any of you Michigan guys know of a campgound near Ludington? I'll be taking the ferry over on Thursday. It lands in Ludington at 7:00pm, so hope to camp somewhere near there for the night.
  8. You just don't get it do you. Maintenance Day! It's when you all show up and mow, weedeat, paint the house.....what did you THINK it was? Dream on boss
  9. Sounds great man! Ask him when the last time the rear splines were lubed, AND get out and ride.
  10. Always good to see you, but at this time of year all we can do is TALK about motorcyles, but that's a good thing. I'll run into you out on the road this summer for sure, somewhere. I did buy a 2002 Triumph Bonneville that immediately after it was purchased, it was painted to the 1965 bonny's colors. Pacific Blue and Silver. My first bike was a 1965 bonny so I jumped on it. It is a pure pleasure to ride, and like the old bonny's it is ready for a corner before you are.
  11. I don't buy this Victoria being part of Canada. Always seems like it's in the tropics to me. I think Canada shouldn't count that. Seems to go against a good bitterly cold, snowy winter.
  12. That was funny. She got ya
  13. the wires go down into the handlebar and out the bottom. How will that work?
  14. Yeah, that is a very cool trailer Bubber. Kinda like an end to an era. You did a really nice job on that one. Someone will enjoy it.
  15. I started to reply several times, but you just answered your own question better than I could have. My answer was about the same.
  16. That was an awesome story! Thanks
  17. I wonder if that is showing at your local HD shop? BTW, I actually have the one that is the most reliable, but it's hanging from the ceiling fan, not on the stand.
  18. You know what they say: It's the thought that counts.
  19. Big difference between a pull behind camper and a pull behind trailer. You know, if your not in a hurry you can get a trailer in the color you want for under $800 EASY.
  20. I'd buy the 99 venture, and besides it is my favorite color
  21. I'd say the lower miles would be better if it is what you want. IE, extended cab vs crew cab as an example. but a very older bike with low miles might just have other issues. It is a crap shoot at best.
  22. Be sure and let us know how that works out for you. I am interested in doing something to keep my hands warm.
  23. OK, so I have been following this and youtube is videos, right, but if I wanted a 32gb card filled with music from 1957 to 1963, that would be music, not videos, right? Think anyone would do that, or have that?
  24. Look for a used cyclemate trailer. You should pay around $600 for one and they are great trailers. I had one that I pulled for many miles, sold it and bought a camper. Too big for me and sold that and got another cyclemate. You don't know they are back there. And there are plenty of them out there. There are two sizes: the larger would be good if you have a wife with a ton of stuff, but for traveling alone, the smaller one is perfect.
