  4. Got home today, around 2700 miles for me. can't tell you how great it was to see everyone.
  5. Craig, It was nice to meet you too. I'm hurting a little less each day. Think Saturday I'll start heading towards home. Joe owns those roads! And to have him and Bobby by my side when I needed them was something I'll always be grateful for and a memory that will last a lifetime. On Monday morning after the first two hours, I pulled up next to him and said: Joe, my GPS says we only rode 20 miles towards our destination. He smiled Did I mention twisties?
  6. Why are there only three of us signed up on the CALENDAR?
  7. Yep, it was me all right. I just got to my cousins place in NW Georgia today and on the computer for the first time in a week. Me and Joe running those twisties for a couple of days and coming down the mountain Monday mid-day I smelled my brakes and in the next few curves, they were gone, and I drove off of the last one and picked a pretty good line through some yards, but one of the yards was a couple feet lower, and the next thing I knew I was laying of the ground and my lower back hurting. Took a trip to the local hospital to get checked out and nothing broken, a good shot of pain killer and we went back and got my bike that Joe had gotten checked out and ready. Drove that last 100 miles but bruised up good and will be a while before that pain goes away. Pain pills and a hot shower and I'm ready to ride all day. The bike has all crash bars bent, couple of dents in the tank, left mirror broken off, hitch bent and tore the mudflap and other minor stuff. I'll take some time here and do some adjusting of what I can. You really miss a left mirror when it is gone. Picked one up and a MC repair shop off of an old bike for $5 this morning. Amazingly, the trailer was still attached with the chains and upright with NO damage. So, all in all, me and the bike faired not too bad.
  8. I forgot to set my trip meter, but I'm in Epworth GA right now, and will be home in a week or so. I'll have to do a guesstamate when I get home. I'm thinking around 2500
  9. After looking at your great photos, it seems to me that as long as I'm out there, both ways is the way to go. Thanks for posting them.
  10. Sorry to hear Jay, I know the feeling and it's not good. I always found it amazing how a dog can do that to you.
  11. I was planning on the same direction for the same reasons.
  12. If you had a choice, which way would you go? east to west or west to east
  13. Nice to know that my tourmaster rain liner is worthless in the rain. Guess I'll plan on using the rain gear over it then.
  14. I just put one on after a new tire and I can see that not only the bike speedo itself off, but the tire adds to that. Now I have to get used to it being correct.
  15. Why do the words: ALL REVVED UP AND NO PLACE TO GO come to mind? I'm going for a ride--------------------------Go for a ride
  16. I thought that I was right once, but I was wrong.
  17. Hey Orlin, Is that bubble on the map on 56 where you live? Plan on riding up tomorrow for the day.
  18. Congratulations to your son and daughter, and of course grandpa. Don't spoil them too bad
  19. Leather jackets without metal zippers? The world is going to hell in a handbasket. A very timely tip indeed. My jacket is at a nice lady's getting some patches sewn on as we speak, and when i get her back I'll lube that zipper up good.
  20. Man, I'm really sorry to hear about this. Heal up Rick.

  22. I'll point them out to you. I may even have a mirror you can look at.
  23. If you haven't bought the extra left muffler yet, it's pretty east to drill out that catalytic converter. I guess I forgot that to do this I removed the baffles.
