  1. I thinking about mowing my lawn on Xmas
  2. I'm sorry to hear about the fire Carl. Good luck in rebuilding your business.
  3. Hey Jeff, Glad things are progressing as planned, and hopefully will be able to stay off of those pain pills. Did they figure out what was floating around in there? And remove it?
  4. Glad your home safe, and in Wi. I don't need to tell you that it will be a while before you take that venture out, but i think I'd replace those 16 year old tires. I think that there is a pass it forward thread here for those parts. Try and look it up.
  5. If your talking about what I think, it is held together with lots of GLUE, so no, not recommended.
  6. Jeff, Been thinking about you and I hope all goes well for you tomorrow
  7. Hopefully you have a laptop
  8. This is the voltmeter that I'm putting on my vstrom. And my buddy has a bunch of bikes and he just ordered a dozen of them and they are going on all of his bikes. I think around $4.
  9. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you both and I'm glad that you are taking good care of Tippy, and on the good road to recovery. Even though you are eating all of the good food.
  10. Great photos! Having had a boat on Lake Michigan for many years I know how violent those lakes can get and how fast they can get there. It's when the waves come from one direction and the wind comes from the other is when it gets really ugly really fast.
  11. I want more things that I don't need or want And what else I want is a long, safe and great riding season next year!
  12. Holy cow, I'm so glad that someone was able to figure out what the problem was. Sometimes you just need the right doc, and luckily you found him. Be sure and give Tippy my very best for a quick and full recovery. You both have been in my thoughts and will continue to be.
  13. So,--------------Did you hose any deer blood out this year?
  14. Jeff, really? I'm surprised to hear you say that. I have to drive over 100 miles to get ethanol free pump gas. All of the stations around here have premium with no ethanol. I suppose you are in that Lake Michigan region.
  15. Is this at a dealer or private? I've always had a good or bad feeling about who had it for sale. At those low of miles, the shock shouldn't be an issue. I'd say, ride it and listen for the whine, and if you don't like it, don't buy it. Otherwise just see what it's history is. Good luck,
  16. I ride an 05 RSTD, and now have 56K on it and will take it anyway, any distance. I love that bike, and you can make it any way that trips your trigger. I'd say trade, and you can't go wrong. It's very comfortable, and when you take the windshield and sissy bar off, it's great for around town and cruising. No issues with mine, and keep the regular maintenance up to date. You know, the usual stuff to look for, but you know all about that. Good luck,
  17. That is a very interesting question. Last summer on my trip out west I was in a seriously LONG procession, and it was on an interstate. It went on for MANY miles and you couldn't get out of it. back and forth, back and forth, Truly amazing, and everyone who encountered it really didn't know what to do. I didn't know when it would ever end. I kept passing the same people time and time again. WEIRD is all I can say.
  18. Seriously?
  19. Are you talking about building a permanent shack? I had one for several years, but I found that it was too convenient and didn't get out and explore as much as I would have liked so I sold it. This is my one man windbock. And my permanent shack, also one man. I have several portable shacks that I can use, but prefer my one man windblock.
  20. Wow, that is tough to hear, much less for you to deal with. I hope that the surgery goes well, and by next summer you/they will figure out some type of supporting boot that will help you be able to walk/ride safely. In the mean time, you better figure out what you will be doing with your time. Maybe put that new JET together. That sounds like it would take a lot of time anyways.
  21. Holy cow Jeff, what in the hell did you do now? I'm sorry to hear this!
  22. What I believe is hurting this site is Facebook. People, posting info on Facebook is like eating food, taste good going in for the moment, but smells like crap coming out the other side. Really, try to find something important on Facebook posted even 24 hours earlier sucks. This is why this site is invaluable. Get rid of the Facebook Venture which has fractured this site. Get rid of the specialty facebook thing. And like the GW guys say, get rid of that too. In fact get rid of anything that is not being used. Really no point, right? But I'd say keep the site working like it is otherwise. Same name, etc.I think that as long as yamaha doesn't make these bikes anymore, the more important it will be to have a site like this. It's a great place to come, and a rally or meet and eat is always a good thing.
  23. Merry Christmas to you too Larry, and sometime this winter I plan on doing exactly what you are asking, posting a pictorial of my trip out west last summer. When things slow down here.
  24. He'd eat em
  25. Here ya go It's a 2005 RSTD
