That's awesome everyone, but looks like I'm the young guy of the group. Going out for a week + ride from Saskatchewan down into Montana tomorrow. I can't wait!!

For those of you who ride ventures what is your age? Just curious to what is the age range who rides these bikes. I'm 40 yrs owned it for 4 yrs now a 1st gen. 83' royale. I love my scoot.

Has anyone vented the filler tube by the gas cap on a 1st gen? It takes a long time to get that sucker full to the top. I've seen the 2nd gen pics but no 1st. 83' VR Brent.

Generally my venture doesn't take much choke to start it. After a cool start up from outside I drove straight into my garage(no warm up). Next day went to start and only running on 3 cylinders. three hot one cold. Took the plug out it was wet and fouled, I replaced only that plug but it still is not running the same. Any thoughts on this? Should replace all plugs? Just replaced begining of last year.

Well thanks guys I just happen to have all 3 stores in my little town. I heard good things about seafoam and would like to try it out. I just don't remember see it. But I will check out today. Thanks again. Brent.

Is there seafoam available in Canada? Or if not what would be the equivalent? Thanks Brent.

I was looking at the Needle jet mod to lower the needle because of poor mileage. All plugs running rich and the smell of gas out the exhaust and splatting on the shop floor. My main needle have six spots to put the cir clip. Is this original? I just lower the needle one notch and my plugs turned fairly white after about 60 miles. Needless to say a little worried. So if I leave the setting can I use the Idle mixture screw to richen the mixture or is that in a different rpm range? Oh I compared the needle you guys are showing on here with the one cir clip spot and it was pretty much the same place as mine 3rd from the top. I hope someone could shed some light on this for me. Thanks Brent.

My Dunlop I only got about 7000km which I think is very poor. But I have hear fairly good reviews on the Dunlop Elite II or III's. I think I will try them next. -
How much Vacuum?

I now have a new problem. I just cracked my diaphram piston. It was a little loose so i figured I could tighten it a bit. Diaphram looks good but plastic piston is not. Anyone know where to get one at a reasonable price? -
Hi all, Running a 83' Venture. I have a question about vacuum. Is there a required amount of vaccuum required? Interested in range required to run the pressure sensor for timing advance. I tested the pressure sensor and seems to be good. I am getting low fuel mileage 25mi to 32mi/us gal. Also seem like the diaphram on #2 carb is loose fitting on plunger maybe loosing vacuum. Any thoughts would be greatly apprieciated.
