Hah! I got ya all beat... When I was working at a Sunoco station in my late teens I remember seeing an old sign that said Gas .25 a gallon...

"On both wheels, I ended up adding weight to the exact opposite side to where they had previously been. It leads me to believe that maybe the shop that balanced the last set didn't know what they were doing and actually had put the weights on the heavy side instead of where they should have been. I didn't notice any problem when riding it but there was only about 1 ounce of weights installed." To be fair, without actually checking the balance of the tire(s), "before you took them off the rim", there is no way to tell. Way Too many variables... If your tire is within a couple ounces, I doubt you are going to be able to tell a difference on the bike. I have changed MC tires all my life and have never put weights on any rim... just line the dot up with the valve stem and WallaH! Here's a test.............. ride your bike after balancing rims, pay close attention to vibration, smoothness etc... Mark front and back of wheel weights on both front and back rim(s), with a permanent marker(it will rub off). take weights off. ride... Let me know how the experiment went... like I said before, I doubt you will be able to perceive a difference...

I'm thinking pulling the fuel pump fuse would also be a good idea. You wouldn't want that kicking ON and spraying a hot engine...
-
That would definately "POOCH" the rear shock. Wonder if they will cover it under warrenty? "Well, considering that the sparks are going the opposite way of the wheel rotation, I would say it's definitely photoshopped" Agreed... Smoke coming out from under the bike would have been much better

"Makes me wonder if the throttle somehow jammed wide open? " Thats what the kill switch and clutch lever are for. if your throttle is stuck wide open, squeeze the clutch in - the engine is gonna rev so you just flip the kill switch and coast to a stop. Even if you forget to kill the engine, I believe the rev limiter will save the engine... If your engine seizes up the clutch lever will free up your rear wheel so that you can coast and not slide to a stop... Man that brings back memmories.... Rember the decompression levers for the second spark plug hole in a dirt bike? Rap-ba-pa-bap-ah-pa...

On a trac phone,, the 800 minute card you buy for $100 gets credited to your phones account... they the seller, keep the card... the 800 min card is good for 1 year and you get double minutes. if you don't let them expire you get to keep the minutes you have. I've use one for 3 years now and rarely use 400 minutes a year, hence a cell phone would have been way more expensive.... Check to see if trac phone works in Canada...

Take your tank and upper air box off.... Start and rev your bike while looking at your slides. If one or more is returning slowlY, pull carb diaphrams, inspect and clean. My reves was also hanging. One of my carb slides was hanging up and after cleaning it everything was fine...

Before I buy , I'm going to experiment with the ones I got and put a piece of foam between shell and the speaker to get it closer to my ear?

Looking to upgrade my Arai helmet speakers "so I can actually understand " what is being said on the CB and radio.... Is this what I need? Are they worth it?
-
"CB and cassette player?" Hummm? I'm thinkin you'd want a new Boise aviation headset/mic and an aviation/helicopter radio to round it all about... More !

Glad you are ok! At the MD Quakerstate Steak and Lube parking lot, I saw three deer trying to jump the fence to get to rt 90's exit ramp. Luckily they didn't make it and turned around and ran away...

I'm thought about buying a cell phone jammer... Only reason I haven't yet is, like the discourteous driver with a cell phone, one would also be taking out emergency calls as well. Laws need to be passed and strictly enforced...

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh alright then... I'll download openoffice...... Jeeeeeeeeeeesh! Some people are hard to please!

I welded 1/16 diamond to the top of my 1200 lb HF 4'x 8' trailer and extended the tongue and went with a 2". Made a cradel for my Seadoo RXP jet ski (900lbs.) and bolted to top. This trailer is nice and light. HF is pretty hard to beat price wise and can be made even better by welding together.

For those of us that carry a laptop/notepad around, I've found it easy to just save Don's vrassistance.pdf That way you can look at it on the side of the road using battery power and you do not have to be hooked up to the internet.

Oil on Brake Pads?
CaptainJoe replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If you use "brake cleaner" like Flyinfool suggested, and a high pressure air hose 90-100 PSI, you can get those pads squeaky clean affter 2 -3 applications... Buy new, if your worried about it. It's not like they are all that expensive in the first place... LOL -
MInni-muffin "She closed her eyes as she continued her 522-foot tumble down Highway 550. "I never lost consciousness," she says, "but I remember wishing that I had." " Sounds like her idiot friend needs to be dragged behind a car for 522'. How fast was he going? My guess would be well over 100 mph. to have someone slide almost 1 1/2 foot ball fields... Disturbing to say the least... Guess the moral to the story is wear protective gear....and, STAY AWAY FROM IDIOTS!
