  1. Spoke with Jeff Yesterday. He's got a Great attitude!... I feel he will do just fine. Prayers up!
  2. I may be able to come down for a night ... Have to take my brother in Cumberland Md for a Heart shock on the 14th to get it back in rythm? Depends on how it goes... Joe
  3. Charles, Make sure the hospital gives her plenty of Warm blankets... Penny and I will be praying for her speedy recovery... Loved meeting you again at yet another IR rally this year...
  4. I know this is short notice but a few riders have expressed interest for a get together this weekend. So... I have a small campground (20sites)/mobile home Park. Sorry no Cabins... Will offer a 20% discount for camping for our group which will make it $20 per night. No reservations necessary... Ruby Lake Park 4 Ruby Lake rd. Sandyville, WV 25275 ***Phone no. is in my profile*** Hope to see you, Joe If you miss this, I am planning on hosting a get together on Bridge day in October... http://www.venturers.org/Forum/images/smilies/grinning-smiley-003.gif
  5. Dave, Make sure you change your final drive oil. I do it every time I put a new back tire on. Also, if you grease both ends it will make it easier to pull apart.
  6. I have the HF 12,000 lb. winch for 5 years and am happy with it. Bought a receiver at HF and bolted to the tongue of my 18' trailer. Also bought a receiver plate at HF and bolted to winch, that way it is a quick disconnect and can be ued on a variety of vehicles. top left: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=reciever+plate+harbor+freight&id=F03AD397F17D8F2B7DB1B70071559477C30985A0&FORM=IQFRBA Winched my 1 ton with no problems. Cat converter went bad and burnt wiring above it up. also bought a couple 2" standard recievers and welded to front and back of bulldozer. By using a snatch block and cable, you can double the pulling power and be out of the direct path. Be very careful with cables....
  7. Kind of reminds me of a V-max.... I think they've got a winner... Well done Polaris!
  8. Dave it will pull apart. Might not be getting enough lubrication. Personally grease both ends of the driveline. Just stick the universal end of drive shaft in vice and pull. May have to strike final drive with rubber mallot to persuade it off...
  9. Just not going to be same without a Dan... Thanks Annie! I'm on my way! WaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHoooo!
  10. Sweet! Save some pie for me! See ya tomorrow.
  11. Thanks Eck... After 11 hours of non stop labor, We got it installed and the pump wire that goes under the road and driveway in 1 1/2 inch conduit. the rest of the wire will have to wait until Mrs utility comes out and marks the lines, normally 72 hrs. The wife was even helping watch to make sure I didn't snag a gas line. I Was only 15" deep but that should be good enough in that conduit. So..... Guess who's going to the IR?... Should be there around 5 PM tomorrow. :cool10:Road Trip! On the submersible pumps...I agree, A pump pushes water better than it can pull... Years ago I can still remember my dad getting worked into a lather over the pump in the well house, loosing it's prime. It was a certifiable pain to get primed... Years later the technology allowed for a smaller pumps to be submersed in the water eliminating quite a few problems. My new pump is 85' deep and there's about 50' of water above it.
  12. Thanks Dan!
  13. Update: Well was 85' deep with a 1 hp. pump. It had a crow foot instead of a pit valve... it promptly broke off...Luckily we had hold of it before it did. Took 4 hrs to get it loose from the casing!.... Not only is the pump bad, but 340' of 12 gauge wire is toast also. The line from the breaker box was 12 gauge without ground. I'm replacing all the wiring from breaker with 10 gauge, well wire with ground. Also replacing the fuse boxes with breaker boxes. By the way, I found out there was a 1/2 hp and a 1 hp pump on the same 240 volt line. Bought a 4 slot breaker box which will allow me to turn on one pump at a time.... replacing 1 hp with a 3/4 hp pump. getting rid of the 21' x 3/4" galvanized steel sections and going with plastic waterline. Also going to install a pump saver which will sense when the pump is not pumping(not enough water) and shut it off. He's coming back tomorrow and between the two of us we should get it up and running (weather permitting). This is a great guy... Don't know many who would work on a Sunday let alone a Saturday. Thanks for all the replies and "well" wishes... Pun intended... I'm beat, gonna drink a few adult beverages, and, hit the sack...
  14. Believe my +200' deep submersible well pump to the campground bought the farm last night. Have a guy coming out this morning to take a look at it. Has a 6" x 15' steel casing above ground as it's in a bottom that floods. Should be fun...NOT! Was all packed up and ready to go to IR this morning. Not looking good at this point.
  15. That is cool! You would get the legroom we've grown accustom to, unlike the can-am's.
  16. Guess that explains why they didn't bother to return my call for reservations... I'll either do the Comfort Inn Scottsboro or the Quality Inn Albertville
  17. Cool beans! Have a safe trip. I've changed my plans, will arrive Saturday afternoon, just don't like riding in the rain...
  18. Rick, Hopefully your alright. Figured you may have bitten off more than you could chew... The hills of WV are intoxicating... LOL Forget about any mileage calculators you may have used in the past... They don't work Here!
  19. Absolutely NOT! Is this a trick question? Dunlop E3's are the way to go...
  20. Finally got enough time in to catch my breath. Prayer's up to Skid and family, Amen!
  21. Rick, if you need a place to stay Wednesday night I've got a spare bedroom... I'm about 30 miles south of Parkersburg,WV just off of Rt#77. (4 hours away from your destination the quick way). Your also invited to stay here Saturday night as I'm heading down to Guntersville early Sunday morning. Hoping maybe the warden is doing good and Yammer Dan can come. Slowrollwv is also signed up so maybe we could meet somewhere along the way. And, you just know Skid want's to go, but, he's keeping mum for some reason... Come Jeff, is it the Harley? Hey, at least you still have ole dependable, don't ya? I also have 20 full hookup camping sites with bathhouse. for any of our members to use, free of charge, for this event.
  22. Think he might have a patent on that? LOL... Edit* $170???? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHH!
  23. Joe, I see, you used a category 1 Adjustable Top Link, with a 3/4" Lower Link Pin.... that's a HUGE difference. Quite a bit beefier! I'd definitely trust that with the Bunkhouse! I used a category 0 Adjustable Top Link, with a 5/8" Lower Link Pin on the sweeper and wagon for the four wheeler. Would not, trust that with the bunkhouse...LOL
  24. Hey Joe, Welcome back! I did the same thing about 5 years ago to my craftsman leaf/grass sweeper and craftsman wagon that I pull behind the four wheeler. Had to because it kept bending the tongue. I might use the setup for something less than 200 lbs. but woudn't trust it with my +400 lb. camper. The threaded part is 5/8" but the solid portion only 1/2" and it's not hardened. The other thing I'd worry about is how many degrees of motion there is when you pull into a steep driveway. Haven't had time to measure yet, but i don't think it's as much as a standard ball and hitch.. It definitely works on the four wheeler on the lighter stuff!
