Just 19 years? You are just young pups... Penny and I have been happily married for 31 years... Enjoy my friend!

Thanks for the replies. As many you know I like to make a trip to the Middle keys every other year. Normally do this the 2nd week of March. Prairiehammer. Looks like there's one in Indiana October next year. Dave, On the New Years campout, do they stay at a campground or camp at some ones residence? Peasus1300, Know what you mean, renewed my interest in trout fishing this year. Something I did as a boy and then young man.

Don, I never Log out. I've made some adjustment on my end. It seems the delete history/temp files/cookies was checked and executed every time I left a site.(option under internet properties/browsing history) As far as the eye candy is concerned, was just trying to make the point that the data was passing by very quickly...Not that there was anything wrong with them. Will let you know in a couple days, Thanks Joe

Don, I write this, in hopes to tweak, the fine job you've already done to this site. It is in no way ment to be viewed as criticism. What's New every post, to a thread appears with a time stamp. Instead of, every thread that has been updated. This creates a huge volume of data being displayed that one has to scroll thru. It doesn't take long, maybe a couple hours?, till something is so far down the page, that no one is going to look at it, resulting in people missing threads entirely. New Posts lasts no longer than 48hrs. then it's gone. Some people get on here once or twice a week. again, resulting in people missing threads entirely. Recent Activity Widget lasts no longer than a few minutes, then it's gone. My point is, people are going to miss threads, unless of course they go into a specific forum. I guess one could throw everything into the Watering Hole, but, that would defeat the purpose of forums section.

Anyone here belong to this? Interesting site. Might join as they have 2 trips to Florida next year: FL Bringing in the New Year, 12/29/2014 - 1/1/2015 Location:Cedar Key FL Daytona Bike week, 3/6/2015 - 3/15/2015 Location:Ocklawaha I don't park my bike for the winter, even though I'm a Yankee. Worst case scenario would be having to trailering the bike south to North Carolina and riding from there. May also be some campers there, that want to join this site... Things to carry in a motorcycle camper
CaptainJoe replied to CaptainJoe's topic in VentureRider Campers
Good point! IronMike had one in Ohio... I had forgot about that. Guess I have some shopping to do... -
Yeah, If you get on the new posts link for a thread you started it doesn't show up. After someone posts to it does. when you come back to new posts later in the day, if no one made an additional post to it , it wont show up. Guess cause it's not a new "to you" post. Need to explore some more...

Things to carry in a motorcycle camper
CaptainJoe replied to CaptainJoe's topic in VentureRider Campers
Cool! That's good advice. I do the same and take back to camper, put on coat hanger inside and let them dry, or, on a rope outside if it' dry. Hope to see you at a campout next year. -
On old site if you went to the home page, it showed all the posts from every forum, starting with the most recent. Is there a place to see this now? Was kinda nice as you didn't specifically have to choose a forum. New posts is close but isn't pulling in all the forums... example didn' pull in my thread on "Things to carry in a motorcycle camper" from the VentureRider Campers forum.

Wrote some of this in another discussion but thought it might help someone gear up for a trip. What do you all carry? This I what I carry and "KEEP" in my Bunkhouse camper: (that way the only thing I need to get for my trips are the suitcase and food.) Battery powered LED light Small $100 AC Ceramic heater Fan Heavy duty extension cord with 3 outlets. aluminum stand folding (I use under ceramic heater) 2 identical sleeping bags and zip them together. Pillow 2 Coleman propane burners and tanks. Coleman pot and skillet kit $.97 Spoon/Fork/Spatula (Wallmart) Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder Plastic forks, knifes and spoons $4 for 100 count (Wallmart) Paper plates Paper Towels Toilet Paper Dawn dish washing liquid, sponge with scotch bright. 5 day Coleman Extreme Cooler on wheels. keep small containers for condiments in fridge axe, knife and Fishing pole Bic long stem butane lighter Newspapers for fire starter Laptop computer $5.88 urinal(Wallmart) Folding chair (Wallmart) I got the 350lb. capacity cause its so roomy and comfy Small nylon rope to hang wet clothes to dry 2 coat hangers Garbage bags Milk Crate 2 gallons gas Ratchet straps Keep in a separate bag(Old helmet bag): Bar Soap in plastic container, Towel, washcloth and water shoes for shower(flipflops aren't for me), toiletry bag dental floss, tooth brush toothpaste, deodorant, brush... That way when you head for the shower it's all in one place and you don't forget something... Steel drinking cup (allows you to warm coffee up on the strove) Will add to list as I remember...but this is a good start. Need: small LED headlamp

light dusting of snow, 19 degrees now... Prayers Up! -
Month long trip... don't know that I'd tent/cot it for more than a week. With or without wife? RSV is definitely the way to go if she's going. Personally I love my Bunkhouse camper. Get to sleep in my own bed, fix meals when I want. Small $100 AC , ceramic heater, fan and a heavy duty extension cord with 3 outlets. 2 identical sleeping bags and zip them together. 2 Coleman propane burners and tanks. 5 day Coleman Extreme Cooler on wheels. axe, knife and Fishing pole...LOL and you'll be comfortable the entire trip. Might be able to get a good deal on one if you look around... About the only bad thing I can say about the bunkhouse is that it takes my milage down to between 25 to 30 mpg. If you get the camper check out the camping section: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?220-VentureRider-Campers&s=&pp=20&daysprune=-1&sort=lastpost&order=desc

Road Rage. In his mind you didn't get out of his way soon enough for him and he had to slow down... That's why he made both of you slow down. You can't fix stupid. Had a similar thing happen to me 10 yrs.? ago. Note: "whenever I get in the hammer lane l pass then get back into right hand lane." Couldn't this time as there was a vehicle in front of me. Next thing I know there's a guy on my ass shouting and making wild gestures with his hands. I finally get into the right hand lane and his passenger is making these gun gestures with his hands and shooting his imaginary guns at me. Turn to my wife and ask: "Do you think he would be doing that if he knew I had a loaded .357 magnum in the glove box?"

Here's a good read as to why fuel prices have dropped: http://www.businessinsider.com/americans-are-so-surprised-how-low-gas-prices-are-that-theyre-sharing-photos-of-it-2014-10

Anybody want to post what they paid for their used bikes?
CaptainJoe replied to pbjman's topic in Watering Hole
Yes it would... But it's not going to happen here... Myself... I like to brag on what a good deal I got on something. Believe everyone does... I scored a 2007 midnight RSV with less than 500 miles back in 2010, along with a 14' V-nose trailer for $13,000. About 2 years ago, I suggested the same as you.... the general consensus was, this info is personal... Interpretation: I want to sell it for more, later... It's not gonna happen... I still think it's a good idea... -
Jeff, I didn't take any. We were to busy riding...

Torch it off? I got a brand new GM spare at the entrance to my park a couple of years ago To my surprise, there was rectangular piece in the center of the hole with a little rusted off cable. I had the wheel in front of my office for two weeks but no one ever picked it up . They probably don't know its even missing... On the bright side ... I immediately tested and lubricated mine on the 2000 4x4.
