I think if there is a "C" in the vin it is a California bike. Which letter I am not sure, if you google your vin it may come up or I am sure someone here will know.

Yep, I am a road warrior also, spending about 12 nights a month on the road selling carbide cutting tools in GA/AL. Most of the newer Comfort Suites around the major cities are okay. The older Comfort Inn's I try to stay away from.

Had it happen to me on my 89. Ended up selling it, not because of that, but other circumstances. Well, that was partly it lol. -
