Mike, I'm actually kinda on the close to the Lee County line.. Just say Camden bc that's where all my money goes- there or Sumter.. I might be dropping bike off at extreme tomorrow. Get these carbs looked at.. I h ave 3 problems and I'm done.. Carb Leak- Neutral light quit working but the OD light seems to stay lightly lit all the time- and Fuel Gauge isn't working.. (Put a brand new fuel sender in but had to reuse the float.. Love the low look but not sure I want to give up the handling that it had with stock height.

Got them put on today... might be to low.. dropped it almost 2 inches.. seems like it might not have enough travel in shock.. kinda hard... Like the look though.. Trying to change dog bones and... the rear one will not let go.. front was easy but rear nut will not budge.. even with impact wrench... Anyone got any ideas?

Received my links today- haven't installed them yet. They should make the bike a tad lower than the Barrons- maybe 1/4"... Of course you will have to figure out if you need to deal with the rear brake... I am thinking if I have to I will cut a 1 inch or so piece out.. The fender is not a piece that will be seen with the side bags... Will take some before and afters... Kit was less than $50 shipped. He does some great work and has made thousands of lowerings for Suzuki Volusias/C50 and other bikes... Good news... shipped it Monday, got it Tuesday. Can't wait to put it on.

Thanks.. makes sense... have another question, what kind of replacement bolts did every one use... I put cap style stainless Allens with red locktite in (they may have been 30mm in length), and everything was good for a little while, then it all went to pot...

Anyone remember length of stator bolts? Can't find the originals... guess I'm going to open it back up..

I can't remember if the noise is normal.. changed stator and changed mounting bolts to a allen cap style.. wondering if the head may be to tall..

I took the round covers off the lights- thats why they are more square... changed bulbs to LEDs... The CB you can hear switch ing channels at the end- after I adjusted the squelch.. Rear speakers are setup on stock system with AUX function.

You can fast forward to about 4:30... Found out some cool things about the camera- when I zoom in the sound changes... But at around 4:30 you can see the drip (Sorry its sideways).. look like the drain plug? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFHtqK5Idh0

It's hot some good chrome.. like the floorboards.. you might look at the brake covers and shift covers.. you can make them fit easily... also maybe some chrome fender trim around trunk lip.. that'll make it pop.. and the lip of gas tank... cheap easy mod that produces blind results.. that's one of the better midnight editions I have seen..

Uh oh... I saw good reviews on the net.. they had that kuryakyn rack for $150... had to grab it.

Why don't we talk about Batteries... Curious to know what kind of luck everyone has had- and what kind... Not sure how many battery manufacturers there are for Motorcycle Batteries, but in the car market there are only about 3... Johnson Controls, Exide, and my mind went blank.. I'm kinda guessing that Johnson Controls makes Motorcycle batteries for Walmart.. I am having good luck with a Lightning Start battery right now.. Had it checked the other day and it still has 350 or 450 CCAs.. It is rated at 500CCAs. Its lasted about 15 months so far.

The only thing Yamaha needs to do with the Venture is 1. Rename it, 2. get rid of the cassette player, 3. put in fuel injection-that will sell the bike.. Then they could offer a big wheel version- with a 22" chrome front wheel, bagger speakers, aftermarket seat, and removeable trunk kit. And please when you do another light bar- LET SOMEONE ELSE make it for you!!

If you wake up one morning and that trunk rack is missing- I didn't take it...

I put a Kenwood m312bt in my cassette space.. trimmed a little plastic off the bottom of mount wrapped it with chrom fender trim.. came out ok.. They also make a remote for the unit that has a LCD display. Popular speakers are Polks... but I installed Planet Audio 4" speakers- so far so good.. they have a aimable/moveable silver tweeter that looks pretty cool through the speaker cover. I put them in all 4 locations. I think they were like $20 a pair...
