  1. Am at a conference in Savannah GA and had the opportunity to get my picture taken on an OCC chopper made for the Army National Guard. Thought I would attach it here. It is pretty big. Almost too much stuff on it. Paint job is fantastic! Will attach more when I get home and can resize the ones off my camera
  2. You aren't holding your breath are you?
  3. How does the cost differ. Most shops are 70 bucks and hour, haven't checked to see what the BMW cost are yet. Not to that point in research. I know there will be fewer dealers to service them.
  4. Hopefully I will soon get a pretty sizable raise and if it comes to pass I am contemplating selling the RSV and getting a BMW 1200 LT. I have always like the look and the features offered on them. The price is higher than the Venture, but that is to be expected when you get power stand, reverse, heated and electric seats etc. I haven't ridden one yet, but when I get back from Savannah I plan on scheduling a test ride. The seat height is about 3/4 of and inch taller than the Venture, but with my corbin seat I am flat footed on the RSV so I don't think that would be and issue. Anyone here ever owned or ridden this machine. If so what are the pros and cons from your perspective? I read a shoot out article between the LT and the 1800 GW. Taking engine size out of it, the BMW faired better with the reviewer than the wing in most categories.... handling, acceleration etc. The only thing the wing really had was you could add more crap to it. Thoughts.....
  5. He put a harley trunk on his bike. Talk to him about costs etc....
  6. Seeing how you just had a birthday and now adding passing lights that big you must being going blind you old Bass Tard! By the way I am not cross-eyed, I am so cool that I have to wear shades and if you could see under the new and way cool jacket that M just gave me you would see that I am also too SEXY for my shirt.....!!!!! Oh yeah I am still the same old humble and modest guy I have always been, even with my added handsome of no glasses!
  7. We understand wanting to see things you haven't before. Just call the numbers I gave you when you get close and we will go from there. Drive safe and if you are using a phone while driving in the People's Republic of California, be sure you are using a hands-free device as they will ticket you if you don't. With the budget being what it is I am sure they are being pushed to raise revenues by any means possible!
  8. If you want to stay the night here on your way we have a place for you. We are about 2.5 hours from Sacramento if you going either Hwy 50 or I-80 Will do my best to meet with you on whatever day you come through the area. I have the 12th marked on my work calendar and I am off on Monday so it looks like we can at least meet for coffee. I sent you a PM with phone numbers in it. Let me know what works for you.
  9. Monday is the 11th. I will have that day off, If it is Tuesday the 12th and you have an idea of what time you will be coming into town I can see what my schedule is like, but should be able to meet up with you

  10. If she feared for her life, she might get by with it. The guy sounded like a genuine ******* and should have kept is stupid butt on his bike. She should have kept her door locked, window up and kid in the car. If he got past the door, then she should have killed the dumb SOB. Either way we have 2 stupid people involved in a stupid situation. Best thing that could have come of it is if they both killed each other. It would keep them from breeding and making yet another generation of stupid people.
  11. The biker doesn't sound like a nice guy... Takes 2 to tango, if he would have stayed on his bike and away from the vehicle he wouldn't be in the hospital. She should have stated she feared for her life, would have been ok. Son should have stayed in car. Neither party acted properly... Both should be charged. Him for assault, her for ADW. Both need asses kicked. Being a biker doesn't give you any special right to act any differently than anyone else. He aggravated a crappy situation and paid the price for it. Sound like a case on NHI (No humans involved) here.....
  12. It must be a cager conspiracy..........sheesh... like they do it on purpose.... grow up!
  13. this must be part of the upgrade huh?

  14. I have heard that it is not a good idea to splice any of the sat radio antenna cables. Usually they give you a pretty good run of it. I know for what I paid for my xm antenna I wouldn't be cutting on it either.
  15. It is for a modular(flip-up)
  16. Buddy rich makes a connector that will hook to the bike intercom cord and tie it into the zumo I have one on my bike. Contact buddy and he can give you the lowdown on it
  17. I have a J&M elite headset for sale. Is 2yrs old, comes with the 5 pin connection cord for the 2nd GEN.... New it would cost $229.00 from J&M, asking 150.00 you pay shipping. I bought a new helmet with a headset pre-installed and don't really need the 2nd headset so I am willing to remove it from the helmet and sell it. PM me if you are interested
  18. I would got with a gotex hunting boot. I bought some for duck hunting that are waterproof, warm and comfortable at Sportsman's warehouse. They have a 1500gm Thinsulate lining that is rated for cold temps. They were about $180.00 but they had some in about the $150.00 range as well. Cabela's would have them as well.

    Headsets???

I ordered the new Symax II and an elite headset from Sierra and got them in 3 days. Great service and the price for the headset was about what J&M quoted. Sierra had the helmet I wanted for a bit more than I could have picked it up elsewhere on line, but I am all about one stop shopping if I can. They did a great job on the install... for the additional 10 bucks it was worth it.

  21. The helmet I had for sale got lots of looks, but no offers. I have changed it to an auction item. To bid, got to the classifieds auction section. This is a 2yr old Silver LG HJC SYMAX modular(flip-up) helmet with a J&M Elite Headset and lower cord. The helmet and headset retail for $259.00 and $229.00 respectively. The helmet is in Good to Great Shape, the clear visor was replaced at the end of last riding season. The helmet has black reflective eagle stickers on each side that reflect white when hit with light at night. It also has white reflective tape on the back. I will split the shipping with the winning bidder up to a cost of $15.00 to me. If you have questions about the helmet feel free to PM me or email me at saulst@sbcglobal.net.

  24. I guess then you have to apply the same logic to anything that you unintentionally fail to do, like overdraw your checking account, go the speed limit and get a ticket or anything that might have consequences..... In that vein we are all negligent and should have the hammer dropped on us without mercy, regardless of the circumstances. I have never said what happened was right, it is the lets make them pay for the rest of their lives, mentally, financially. S*H*I*T lets just set up a debtors prison for anyone who errs. I bet you might find more than a few of us there for being negligent All that being said. I do agree with the education of people about doing other things while operating anything that can harm others. This thread started off innocently enough, but many have turned the tone into the us vs them. Most of us become primarily "cage" operators during the winter months, so is it us against ourselves?? Those without blame can cast the first stone? Really how many of those are here? I know I'm not one of them.
  25. Now you have to come back out here and wire mine that way!
