  1. Thanks guys I have been running by the sidewall recomendations. I was just curious because it says max load650lbs at 41 psi. Got to wondering what it would be if you were over the max load or under.........Don
  2. The tires on my bike are not the originals, those were runflats. These are fairly new, but not runflats. My owners manual says the tire pressure should be 36lbs. The sidewall of the tire says max load is like 638lbs at 41lbs of tire pressure. So which do you go by? Or should I set it somewhere in the middle???........Don
  3. Might as well run the gammit. Change the plugs and fuel. Check the air filter to make sure its clean. Check the gap between the flywheel and magneto. Make sure theres no rust on the flywheel. Do all these simple things first to eliminate any obvious reasons that it wont fire. I dont know about the exhaust having a whole lot to do with it. I've seen lawn mowers with a straight pipe on em an no muffler to create any back pressure.Hopefully you can get her up and running before ya actually need it..............Don
  4. Just so ya know JT. The air filter is new, the plugs are new, the compression is fine. The valves were checked recently and the carbs synched at the same time. I ran a bunch of Sea Foam through it. I think the problem is the diaphrams. It wouldn't hurt to pull the carbs completely off the bike and and tear them down for a good cleaning, and then re-synch them. Kinda like the idle problem your bike has, it almost has to be in the carbs. Next question is which one do you wanna tackle first??? Yours or mine???? With colder weather coming...someday...this would be the perfect time to do them both. I have the service manual for mine. Lemme know when ya wanna get started........Don I have a K&N filter for my bike so dont go buying one. I doubt you would anyway cause they are higher than a cats back..$170.00 from Yamaha/Kawasaki...
  5. I'm sure that XM is comprably to Sirius. as to the monthly fee...It costs me $38 every three months. That works out to what .....a whopping .42 a day. I think I can afford that.......Don
  6. This is a little late in the game but i figured I'd add mine in here. i just got a K&N from my local Yamaha dealer. Total orice tax, title and license was $69.23. I bought the recharge kit with cleaner and oil from O'Riely's for $9.99 plus tax. This is for an 86 so I'm not sure what it would be for a 2nd gen.........Don
  7. Has anyone ever posted on exactly how to hook one of these things up and how to actually use one. I have one but it didn't come with any instructions....I saw the thread Don posted on synching carbs but I haven't done it yet....I'm gonna practice on Hipshots bike tomorrow.......Don
