I'll keep you in mind for when I need a stunt double.

While posting motorcycle pics, wanted to post some pics of three of my boys. 2LT Joshua Fargason, SGT Benjamin Fargason, and SGT Daniel Fargason. Josh's pic is from his Officer Basic Course at Ft Knox, Ben from while he was waiting at the Atlanta airport to go back after R & R, and Daniel on an outside ride.

Elizabeth just got a new to her 2002 Kawasaki 1500 Classic (6547 miles). It had a nice looking light bar on it but no windshield. So we ordered a windshield, it came in today and I was trying to put it on. Turns out the lightbar is made by Jardine and it is in the way of mounting the windshield mounts. In looking at it, if I could trim off about a quarter inch from each side where it partially wraps around the forks, I could get the windshield on. I have never tried to cut a chromed piece though and am interested in any feedback one of you much more experienced folks would have. The first pic is the bike, second is the odometer (6500 miles on a nearly seven year old bike is criminal), third shows the mounting screw and area I would need to trim, the fourth is a view from the side with one of the windshield mounts.

I was amazed at how much difference the bags made in what I could pack. I managed to get all my stuff I need for a week business trip in one saddlebag and the trunk. Some of the best money I ever spent on the bike.

I saw one of their tricars on the road coming through Kentucky over Labor Day. Looked kinda neat.

I don't know anything about the paint removal issue, but Welcome Home Jim.

I think Squeeze has it right. From all the other people seeing the flag, it has to be something on his machine.

What kind of man ever reads the instructions? Instructions are for people who don't like surprises.

I know that none of you will do this, but just in case. On Monday I left the house heading for Ft Bragg in NC. I had a cup of coffee in my wonderful Venturerider cup, and it worked just great. Along the way at one of my stops I grabbed a Coke and candy bar. Not wanting to throw away the left over Coke, I rinsed the cup and put the Coke in the cup. About ten miles up the road I heard a LOUD pop and saw a quick movement out of the corner of my eye. After I adjusted my mind to the new color of my pants I pulled to the side. The pop up top had been totally blown loose by the pressure build up from the carbonation of the Coke. Fortunately the pieces did not fly off and I was able to just push them back down. Now if only the laundry was that easy. DON'T PUT CARBONATED BEVERAGES IN YOUR VENTURERIDER CUP!!!!!

You mean that you didn't hear the news that Virginia was following the lead of many sports venues and sold naming rights for the state. You guys will soon be the known as the Commonwealth of Nokia

I usually don't have to worry about that when folks see my base sticker, but I have taken some of your advice.

Under EPA rules, Atlanta does require lower levels of sulfur in their gas. But the EPA restrictions have been lifted until October 12th. You can check the story out here: http://www.ajc.com/search/content/business/stories/2008/09/22/atlanta_gas_problems.html

I travel a lot in my job as a trainer also. I ride to any training site that is within bike distance. Maybe that might be a way for you to hang onto at least one of the bikes?

They must have switched out the pictures. All I saw was a photo of some characters called Jeff Myers and Gene Higdon. No mention of a Muffinman or Beer30 anywhere:stirthepot: I appreciate the effort you guys put out in supporting troops and veterans.

They eased the restrictions on cleaner gas a few days ago.

They are called acronyms. In this case, Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA)

Andersonville is the National POW Museum as well as being a former prisoner of war camp. As far as brutality goes, none of the Civil War camps, including those ran by the Federals were a picnic. But I am not sure that the camps run by the Nazis were exactly a Ritz. When I went to Yad Vashem in Jerusalem years ago I was able to see a record book from one of the concentration camps. It seems that those GIs who could be identified as Jewish didn't go to the Stalag, but to a camp.

It ain't Octoberfest if you don't go to the Hofbrauhaus. Drove out to Newport so that we could stop there on our way back to Georgia from New Jersey. Wish we could be there, y'all have fun.

I was out riding around today and decided to stop at Golden Corral in Newnan. As I was pulling into the parking lot I noticed a couple getting off a bike. As I was walking in I passed by the bike and they had a severe gas leak, gas was running pretty steady onto the ground. I saw them inside and told the guy about the leak, and he said "Yeah I got a leak in the tank." They just continued on with moving in to get some chow. I could not believe that he was unconcerned with getting hit with a Hazmat violation, or that they were crazy enough to be riding like normal, stopping for chow, etc with a serious gas leak.

Gene, got mine today. The ACU pattern is great, awesome workmanship on the bags. Thanks a bunch.

A lot of good suggestions here. I would especially recommend taking the safety course. If you go through that, learning how to handle a bike yourself, it will give you more confidence with how your husband is handling the bike.

I was close to Trenton for the last couple of weeks. Did a beautiful ride going out of Trenton north along the Delaware up to New York state. Bounced back and forth across the river because 32 on the PA side has construction in certain areas. Well worth spending a day on the route.

One of the mess halls on Liberty is pretty decent, but I would vote for the felafel stand on the Iraqi FOB at Taji. Just remind everybody to bring Cipro. Sorry we didn't get to make it. We will get together before you get out of here.

Looks like y'all had fun. Wish we could have been there.
