Someone said on another post that the key codes for the second gen were on the gas cap cover and behind the cover in the saddlebag near the lock. I looked on mine and there was a four digit number on the gas cap, and there was in the saddlebag also, but they weren't the same numbers (the last two digits on one was 19, 21 on the other). Is that really the key code, and if so, which one should I use?

Mini is just trying to collect pictures of all the VR folks. For those of us in the US, she only has to go to the Post Office and look through the wanted posters.

Go to all the dealers. When a bike calls your name as you walk in, buy it. Ignore everyone else, listen to the bike. Problem solved.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

It moved back to quickly to be him pushing it back, IMHO. I was wondering about the reverse myself.

There are bunches of organizations out there for military (active/former/retired). The VA maintains a list of service organizations that are registered with them: http://www1.va.gov/vso/index.cfm?template=view Note that the Air Force Sergeants Association is listed there. http://www.trea.org/ The Retired Enlisted Organization has a good reputation as far as I have heard. There is one organization, Non-commissioned Officers Association (NCOA) that I have only been a member of once. They may have changed their ways, but for years they were not ethical at all in their business practices. If you are near a military base there may be associations that welcome retired, reserve, and active members. We have a Sergeants Major Association at Ft McPherson that welcomes all Army E-9s, they may welcome other services as well.

Don't think I would want to go that route, but it looked like it handled turning pretty well in the video.

It's OK Charlie. We all understand the issues there. If we lived somewhere that cold, we would probably snap at some point as well. BTW, you do know that you are seeing the Bud Lime up there now is because nobody down here buys the stuff, don't you.

Texans are merely Canadians that knew enough to move out of the cold:whistling:

Let me see if I understand this, WV is all wrinkled up, sort of like when I mess up something I am writing and toss it in the trash can? The paper that I am proud of is the flat pristine one (Texas) not the tossed, crumpled one
-
I love mine and haven't had any issues with them coming loose.

I was born a Texan, raised a Texan, and as soon as I get done with this job I will be back in God's country (Texas for any heathens out there). I am merely a Texan in exile.

In researching my family tree I look at a lot of census information. It might be interesting for those who are concerned about the amount of questions to see the information reported by family on previous census. On the 1790 Census, this information was reported on families: State, County, Head of household's name, # free white males 16 and over, # free white males under 16, # free white females, # all other free persons, # slaves. In 1840 the census sheet has: State; County; Head of household name; # free white persons broken down by male/female and various age ranges; # free colored persons, broken down by male/female and age ranges; # slaves broken down by male/female and age ranges; # of persons in household employed in 7 different occupations; # military service pensioners; # Deaf and Dumb, Blind and Insane White Persons; # Deaf and Dumb, Blind and Insane Colored Persons; and # in various schools. In 1870, the census sheet has: State; County; City; Name of every person in the place of abode; Age at last birthday; Male/Female; Color (White, Black, Mulatto, Chinese, or Indian); profession of males over 15; Value of Real Estate; Value of Personal Estate; State, Territory, or Country of birth; Month of birth for those born within census year; marriage date for those married within census year; ability to read; ability to write; whether deaf and dumb, blind, insane, idiotic, pauper, or convict; "Constitutional Relations" Male citizens of US 21 and above, Male citizens of US 21 and above where right to vote is denied on other grounds than rebellion of other crime. Some census asked more information, some even had special schedules for different groupings, such as surviving civil war veterans in the 1890 census.

Realizing that Swiftie (and possibly Charlie) have become deranged from the cold and inability to ride their bikes, I, being a good neighbor, propose the following solution to some of their despair. Crate up your bikes and ship them to me. I will ride them and cherish them until your riding season, then you can fly down and ride them back. The pro considerations are that not having the bike in your sight every day may lessen the depression you are in about not being able to ride. Plus you will have more room in your house, which will allow you to store more US craft beers, the drinking of which will improve your outlook on life. thus ends this public service announcement.

Although the Sixth Gear is listed as having a liner, I would be leery of that being that warm. Seems like the air coming through the mesh would defeat some of the protection. You might want to see if anyone else uses mesh with a liner. When it comes time for the liner, I have already put on the outer layer to my Flex pants.
-
Lewis, we will thinking about both of you tomorrow. If you need anything when y'all get back home, let us know.
-
I have the TM Flex 2, they are great for all year round wear. The pants come with a two liners and an outer layer that zips over the mesh. If the other gear doesn't have that, it might explain the difference in price. Also, not sure where you were shopping, but check out New Enough, they had the best prices I could find, and they kick back some money to the site.

We were still using the desert bags in the 70s in west Texas. In a dry climate they work great. The evaporation of the water cools the water still in the bag. I used one a lot while plowing. Worked better than the cooler jugs they have out now.

Hope it works out with the interview. If it does, you have to promise not to wear out all the pavement in the area before I get back there.

I did an Iron Butt on my pillow top without any trouble, but once I injured my tail bone, thank you United Airlines, even the pillow top would cause pain after awhile. Having the Butler conversion done gave me back the ability to ride without pain. Point is that if there are some physical issues, there may not be any stock seat or backrest that will bring you any relief. Getting a modification that relieves a pressure point, in my opinion, has gotta bring some relief.

Cool. You was out in my future neck of the woods. Did you drop by and see my rocks and little bit of dirt?

The Marines use a diesel motorcycle based off the KLR650. Other countries have a diesel already as well.
