  1. I installed the program, but cannot find venturerider when I search for the forum. Where did you other Droid users manage to snag it?
  2. On facebook, when you unfriend someone, you just disappear from their friend list. If someone sends you a friend request and you ignore it, you are listed on their page as awaiting friend request. They have no way to take back the invitation, so it just sits there. If you don't want to accept, click on their name so you go to their profile page. At the bottom left is a link to report/block the person. If you block them, the friend request goes away so it is not sitting on their page. Of course it also blocks them from finding you in a facebook search as well.
  3. I especially like the rear facing claymore. Wouldn't want to be riding it down the road when it went off though.
  4. It isn't just kids on sports bikes that ride like idiots. I have seen some cruisers going down the road with no brain power connected to the handlebars.
  5. My unit recently stopped charging if I was using a USB power plug. It still accepts power through the cradle plug, but I am starting to question if it is actually charging while it is turned on while plugged in. When I contacted Garmin they told me I could get the USB port replaced for only $99. My old Lowrance IWay 500 is looking real good right now, no matter how much it weighs.
  6. Brad and Lonna, Congrats on getting moved in. Wish we could be there. Looking forward to seeing y'all again sometime.
  7. They don't always do out of warranty for free for original owners either. I have a Nuvi 765T and it no longer will charge through the USB port, which is what I was using for the bike, only charges with the traffic receiver cradle. They want $90 to fix it. Looks like I am going back to my old reliable Lowrance Iway brick.
  8. I found it was fairly easy to run a line through the bars, then use that to pull the wires with the bars off. You might try pushing a solid copper wire through and then pulling the wires through with that. I think you will spend more time doing that than you would just removing the bars and fishing it, though.
  9. Don't do it! The cover (for the online version, at least) is a beautiful bluebonnet picture. Almost lost my wife over that picture. She was almost to the bike when I caught up and made her come back.
  10. The stains come off the seat, trash the pants though.
  11. I put on an one of the high priced gel batteries when my original gave up the ghost. That one died too not too long after that. The company replaced it, but the replacement didn't last more than a few months. Stranded me in Jersey but a local Wal-Mart had a battery that would fit. It has been running fine and I will probably use one the next time I have to do a change on a MC battery.
  12. If I recall correctly the big push for this law came around 2007 (at least where I was at the time) because a state trooper had been sucked out into traffic from a large vehicle speeding by him. I had never thought about how dangerous the air currents were from passing vehicles. I guess some of the fines might seem over the top, but given the reason for the law in the first place, I don't have a problem with it.
  13. Elizabeth and I are planning on being there.
  14. It would need Squeeze to verify, but I had heard that a lot of breweries, especially the smaller ones, went out of business due to EU policies. Whatever the reason, it is sad to hear. I really liked the seasonal beers and was hoping to "retrace" my steps over there some day. Back to the point, Henninger beer was pretty good. Spent three years in the Frankfurt area and drank more than a couple.
  15. I have carried them, but found that I could work the can opener attachment on a Swiss Army knife much quicker, and was tired of being poked so I stopped carrying it. And I respectfully disagree, the eggs were one of the best meals. Whenever we had Cs we normally didn't have much time or the resources to heat the meals. The eggs were the one meal I could eat that I didn't have to scrape an inch of congealed grease off of.
  16. Welcome home.
  17. Awesome.
  18. I used to use USAA for my autos. Even used them for a vehicle I was letting my sons use (I was in Wisconsin, they were in Virginia). The kids got some tickets and USAA told me they were dropping all my insurance, but that they would have one of their partners insure me at three times the rate. When I offered to just insure the kids through a different company, I was told mine would still go up "just in case they came to Wisconsin and drove one of the vehicles". At the time I was covered for someone else driving my vehicles, so I thought that was pretty unreasonable. It has been long enough that I could go back to USAA, but will never do so. Love their banking, hate their insurance. I have had a lot of other folks tell me that USAA was prone to drop you at the first instance of anything.
  19. Glad to hear the news Brad. Looking forward to seeing you guys when we can.
  20. My dealer ended up taking my control head off and sending to clarion for repair. It has worked fine since then.
  21. Someone said on another post that the key codes for the second gen were on the gas cap cover and behind the cover in the saddlebag near the lock. I looked on mine and there was a four digit number on the gas cap, and there was in the saddlebag also, but they weren't the same numbers (the last two digits on one was 19, 21 on the other). Is that really the key code, and if so, which one should I use?
  22. Mini is just trying to collect pictures of all the VR folks. For those of us in the US, she only has to go to the Post Office and look through the wanted posters.
  23. Go to all the dealers. When a bike calls your name as you walk in, buy it. Ignore everyone else, listen to the bike. Problem solved.
  24. Sorry to hear of your loss.
  25. It moved back to quickly to be him pushing it back, IMHO. I was wondering about the reverse myself.
