Are you still selling the 2nd Gen clutch kits? The add in the link above has expired or been removed.

This is weird ...Did sync on the carbs and guess what I found

Do you understand that this "pollution control device" really doesn’t reduce the pollution? The major reason to pump air into the exhaust on our motors is to dilute the exhaust with clean air thereby reducing the perceived emissions. Besides, E-Fishen-C lives in Canada so he’s unlikely to pollute your less then pristine Colorado air. -
I often have mixed tires because the rear never lasts as long as the front and I'm not wasting a good tire. I've never had any problems.

I suggest that we all take the MSF Experienced Rider’s Course with our passenger. My wife and I did it last summer and we may do again this year as a tune-up after a long winter of not riding. We can’t stop the "other guy" from making stupid moves, but we can perfect our own skills while carrying our passenger. Bikes handle different with different loads, so load your bike as normal and take the course. Then, regularly hunt an empty parking lot and practice those quick stops and tight turns. The experience may just save the life of your best friend!

The Black Hills is a GREAT place to ride, but it's too crowded during Sturgis to truely enjoy the ride.

The only problem I've experienced is leaking fuel out of the vent after overfill and letting the bike sit in the sun. So, I fuel then ride instead of fueling and then going inside... Fuel will not come out of the gas cap unless the cap isn't fully seated.

USAF 75-84 + 2 years as a contractor and still have a P-38 on my key ring.

I had a 76 FLH that was my mistress for several years. I turned it into Wide Glide before Harley brought theirs to market. In 81 I bought Yamaha XS1100 Venture and haven't looked back. The Harley was fun to build and fun to ride, but the Yamaha was so much faster, smoother, had a fairing and bags and it didn't require constant maintenance. I was tired of eating bugs, owning 10,000 bungee cords, and I wanted to ride more than wrench, so the Harley was sold later that year. I still have a soft spot for Harley's and considered an Ultra Classic, but the 06 RSV won out.

Our last set of tires were Michelin Commanders and we were very pleased with them. We presently have Dunlop Elite III’s on the bike and so far they compare very favorably to the Commanders. Miles and miles will tell the story and determine if we stay with the Elite’s or go back to the Commanders.

We've had a Clearview on for two full riding seasons with season number 3 quickly approaching...as soon as the snow melts. We use "Pledge" on our Clearview and have had great results. The "Pledge" makes it relatively easy to clean the bugs off. When the bugs get too bad we just put a soaking wet towel on the windshield for a few minutes.

engine oil light comes on
OB-1 replied to aspen60's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The light that flickers is the oil level light, not oil pressure. This can happen during full throttle acceleration and is not a problem. -
Thanks! I got 45 out of 48 correct...

Over here in northeast WY we had great weather on Wed. & Thur. so I got in my first rides since last Oct. It actually rained here today. Haven't seen that since last Oct either. Supposed to be snow and rain though next Wed. Spring is coming!

Toronto to Las Vegas July 3 to 25th any route suggestions or sights
OB-1 replied to dogman's topic in Watering Hole
I'd recommend a trip through Yellowstone and over Bear-Tooth pass and also a trip through the Black Hills. We live bewteen Moorcroft & Sundance Wyoming just north of I-90. You're welcome to stop in if you pass this way, but you will have to ride 4+ miles of gravel to get to our place. -
YeeHaw!!! I got to ride yesterday and today! :cool10: Supposed to snow tomorrow:doh:. Couldn't entice my wife to ride today; she said it was still too cold for her, upper 40's:no-no-no:. There's a lot of sand & gravel on the pavement around here and I found out just how little traction there is when I pulled out to pass a slow car going up a 9% grade. I twisted the throttle and lit up the rear tire.

Finally enough snow has melted off the 4+ miles of gravel to provide a safe path to the pavement! So tomorrow is the big day; my first ride since the snow hit last October! Tomorrow's temps are supposed to be mid 40's to maybe even 50F! My bike will be mud covered when I return home, but it will be worth it. It's been a long snowy winter and we'll likely get a few more storms before summer, but the road is open and I'm headed out for a ride!

I normally ride 2-up as my wife is my best friend and constant companion. We took the Experienced Riders Course last summer, 2-up. It’s a great course and something we should all do regularly. My wife was an excellent passenger. She even waited for an exercise to end before poking me in the ribs for dragging the floorboards.

I have the same results. I try not to get a truely full tank unless we're ready to ride as soon as refueling is completed.

And we ALL know that the 2Gen's are the fastest! =

Well I was able to pack my finger in snow which helped reduce the pain. Kept it iced most of yesterday afternoon/evening. Still sore this morning and still leaking from the swelling, but not as bad as I expected. Had 3 of the 4 grandkids over last night, so know I'm known as "Grandpa Bloody Finger." Took advantage of that this morning to get the grandkids to clean up their breakfast mess. I told them the Bloody Finger was going to get them if they didn't clean up their mess. They screamed in fake horor and quickly put their dishes in the sink and headed off to get ready for church.

Don't have one and wouldn't consider getting one, but to each their own.

Yes I really did say that, but there’s a good reason. You see, if it was riding season I would be missing out on riding for at least a few days because of a little mishap earlier today with a 20-ton log splitter. The wife and I were splitting more firewood this afternoon because “Global Warming” hasn’t kept things nearly as warm as advertised and we’ve been burning wood since late September. You’d think that I would be an experienced “hand” with the log splitter by now, but apparently not as I managed to insert my left index finger between a log and the end stop on the splitter. OUCH! Nothing appears to be broken, but I did lose some hide and the ‘meat’ appears to be pretty mashed. Darn thing is still leaking a bit and the little accident happened seven hours ago. Looking on the bright side, at least its still winter and riding season is at least a month away, probably more than that here. I think it will be a while before my finger can stand the little vibration we get in the handlebars.
