    Gettysburg

We are in! Had a great time last year and we will probably make a weekend out of it like last year as Gettysburg is a nice little town. Paul
  5. Been playing in bands for over 25 years and playing a total of over 30. Here is a link for my bands site www.myspace.com/drivingsidewaysrocks check it out. I have also been building and custom painting guitars for years here is my other website www.bigheadguitars.com I have owned over 300 guitars over the years and here is a pic of some of my current ones. Enjoy, Paul
  6. I used a little over a quart of the orange base color and about 3/4 of a quart on the flame color and a pint on the gold pinstripe around the flames and about a third of a pint on the black drop shadow. I also used about three quarters of a gallon of clearcoat. I had a little over $600 in materials and I buy my paint wholesale, if I had paid retail I would have had $1000 just into materials and over 100 hours. I think I would need $2500 to do that paintjob again as it was time consuming. But there isnt another one like it anywhere. If you are going to spend that kind of money make sure it is something you like and be different as everyone has a two tone something or other:080402gudl_prv:

    carb problems

Yes I added the other filter after having the problem first a few times. I thought there might be something getting through the fuel pump and into the carbs. When she runs normally she runs like great and then every once in a while BOOM there it goes, and then seafoam usually clears it up after a few days. Paul
  8. I had the same predicament when I painted mine a few years ago, and I didnt want anything that looked like any other Venture out there. Plus its a head turner so I will have to say orange. The body color is called Orange Crush, the flames are Tangerine with a gold pinstripe around the flames and then black for the drop shadow. They will definetly know its you comming down the road. But it was very time consuming, if I remember right i had well over 100 hours into the paintjob and over $600 in materials. But worth every penny.
  9. Hi guys havent been on the site much lately as we have had a lot going on. I havent run the bike much this summer as the wife had an operation and we are buying a house out in the country so summer was pretty much shot. ANYWAY I stared the bike up the other day to take for a little ride, as it was warming up I ran back into the house and when I came back the bike shut off as it had run out of gas (hate my screwy fuel guage). Went and got gas and put 50 miles on. I noticed a gas smell and leak from one of the overflows, so I put half a can of seafoam and ran it another 20 miles and got it home and it is still leaking gas from one of the overflow lines. Ran it yesterday and same thing. This happens about twice a year since I got the bike 4 years ago and seafoam usually clears it up after a few days. I had the carbs off and cleaned 2 years ago and they were very clean and in excellent shape. I even put another in line filter between the fuel pump and the carbs when I had the carbs taken off. My question is am I the only one with this problem or am I just missing something? I am great at the bodywork and cosmetic stuff but not the greatest when it comes to the mechanical end of things. Any help would be appreciated as I get a little more frustrated every time this happens to the point of thinking I want to get rid of her. But I love this bike and just want to get this straightened out once and for all, but with buying a new house money is a little tight and I dont want to put a fortune into her right now. Thanks in advance, Paul

    New Project

Here are some updated pics of my trailer its just about finished. I made 2 seperate lids one plain which I etched flames (love those flames). The other is for taking Ringo (dog) with us. The top of the dog box on the lid is 8 inches high and is 18 wide by 12. This will draw enough air and is high enough so as not to get any exhaust fumes and plenty of room for him to look out. I also am putting 2 12 volt fans in my exhaust holes in the back to draw the fresh air in through the top and out the back vents. I just have to wire the lights and carpet it and it will be about done after my latches come in from ebay I will have it ready for a test ride.

    New Project

Well I finally am building my trailer here are a few pics. I cut down a HF trailer to 30 inches wide and CNC'D the diamond plate at work. I still have to mount my diamond plate bumper along witl my LED lights. I put a slot in for a divider which will be for the dog when we take him. I am making 2 different tops. A solid one for regular use and one with a cutout with a little high rise box with widows with screens for air intake and I also have to put one more exhaust in the back that will have 3 small computer fans (which will draw as little power as LEDs) to pull the air through. I have to finish the cooler rack which I will line with orange acrylic and then polish the aluminum then the flames will be orange from the outside. I am going to make it so I can take it off the trailer and mount it to my hitch platform when not using the trailer. I am going to get someone to tig weld all my seams to make it water tight and I should be good to go after I put the fenders (with diamondplate mudflaps with small flames cut out in them. It should be sharp when its done if I can find some hubcaps that will fit the 8 inch wheels as the ones I see say they are for golf carts and they are different rims. Anyway let me know what you think. When its all done I will only have about $350 into it as I got all my aluminum at cost and programmed the CNC myself and cut it on my own time. (its nice having a key to the shop) And being that it is aluminum it is very light. Paul
  12. Don shoot me an email as I work at a place that does decals and I can hook you up with a better price. We also do embroidery on hats, shirts, Jackets along with digital print and heat transfer vinyl. We also letter cars, trucks and vans and all types of signs. we have a full CNC shop as well that we can do anything even laser etching and engraving. But regardless You wont get a better deal on decals anywhere and quantity isnt a big deal. Talk to you soon, Paul
  13. Here is a pic of our new pup. Named him Ringo he is a Blue Heeler (Austrailian Cattle Dog). Had him for 3 weeks now and he is a great little guy.
  14. We will be there have made it for the last several years as we just live 40 miles north of Johnstown. It keeps getting better every year. Paul
  15. I have no intention of putting Ringo in before I give it a good once over and a long ride with a C02 dector. I plan on padding the whole box for the dog in 2 inch foam that will then be carpeted. I am buying a small trailer widow for that side of the trailer that has the dog box built in. I also am getting a solar exhaust fan that should work fine. I found on ebay a nice chrome intake vent that will work great and look good with my diamond plate. Found it under boat vents. I plan on putting the intake vent in the front on the top side as high as i can get it and running a small duct on the inside corner going to the dog box. I plan on putting the solar vent on the top which will be my removable lid that will secure with 4 spring clips so everything will be easy to load. I am going to put the solar fan on with wingnuts so I can take it off when not taking the dog and I will cut a round piece of diamond plate to cover the hole with a gasket so it wont leak. Also I am not usingthe junk trailer lights that came with the trailer I plan on putting LED lights on instead. Wish me luck I start cutting today. Paul
