I just did some extensive repairs on a the Class system.Maybe I can help you.

Sounds like you have a bad fuse panel.Check your spring for your center stands as well.Also check the frame by the shock tower to see if there is not a crack and pushing frame parts down.It should not happen in that year but you never know.The hi beams are either the CMU, the relay for the low beam over ride.I have a spare CMU if you need one.If the rear tire does not hold air, it is time for a new one. If you see cupping or scalloping for sure it is done .The tire could be old and hard as rock.Not a safe situation to ride on especially in wet weather.It is like driving on a hockey puck.If the throttle is not returning check your grip.Make sure it in not binding. If free buy a new cable set to be safe.Check the coupler for the overdrive cables are not binding or there are frayed cables in that combining cable system unit. \

As it turned out,It was the connector to the Class control was the problem.I had everything right.I installed a relay that was not even in the system.Someone had replaced it with a toggle witch to engage the pump in a real crude way.The system is quite simple.That Lavender wire connects the ground to the relay to turn on the pump.Thanks for your help on this everyone.

If any of this is disconnected would I get the E4 error Bob?

Here is the other problem.This 86 bike seems to have a retro fitted class system.When I got it the blue wire for the relay to the compressor was disconnected.I looked the wiring diagram and it said it needed to go to a relay.I installed a relay to the compressor and blue wire from the class harness.Is the blue wire the hot or the ground to the relay?Anyone have an answer? You will have to look at the schematics to see what I am talking about.

I am getting the classic E4 Class error.I re soldered the connections and put the unit in my other bike and it works fine.When I put it on the bike I am working on I get the error.What else could be wrong?Suggestions please/ Thanks

Are you sure it is not the thermostat leaking and dripping down?There is an thin gasket that could leak in the housing.

If I can recall , the plug was to hide a hole for an access point to add accessories to a threaded fitting beneath. You could mount your Extras like GPS, cell phones with an adapter.|Not too sure, But I thought I read that somewhere.

I have a Heel and Tow system i took from my 86 Venture.Four washers and spacers came off and I really am not sure where they go.The spacers are chrome.Does anyone have an idea where they go or a diagram. I think these are Ventureline units.

Have you checked your fuses or power connections to the radio?

For what it is worth, I have a donor 86 bike complete with engine and carbs.It ran before i took off parts to rebuild another project bike.

Check the schematic for you bike.You could either have a broken ground or a power wire.Do both half's of the control LED not working?
