    I took out my cassette deck from my 83VR and made a multiple access port for Ipods and GPS.I put a resister accross one of my inputs as to not have the aux swamped by the different impedances of the units.It seems to work.

    My 83 runs hot.it never boils over and I have the fan mod.Is it a good idea to take my thermostat out?,Thoughts!!!

    You might want to check your charging system for voltage output.

    There are two types of operations that go on in a Venture speedo.The cable drives a gear system that is calibrated by revolutions to give you distance . It is also connected to a calibrated D"arsenval movement system(The arm on a speedo).If the speedo system part fails, you will still get odometer readings.

    I fixed mine.I tore it apart and just cleaned it.It works great now.Hint: Never do this after having a fight with the wife.you will never get it back together......LOL

    I have an 83.It had similar problems.Some of my buttons did not work on my radio controller. I tore apart an old cassette deck I had and replaced the surface mount buttons I took from my deck to solve the problem.I took the radio module out ,cleaned my pins and losened the connectors to adjust for a better pin seat.I have no cut out and my radio works great.If your display is wierd that for sure is the problem.I dont have a radio, but I do have controller parts.Let me know how you do.

    The tem PC Board means "Printed Circuit Board".The CMS unit or the " Comuter Monitor System" is the the display on the bike that tells you about the main systems .There are help files on how to take one out and do the service and repair.I have am 83 VR with all the classic problems.These help files are great and easy to follow.If you dont get it,make a post and someone will jump in and help you.!!!

    Thanks all for the help on this string.I had a problem with my 4 way flasher switch.I had an extra one and replaced it,I am all good now. Paysaw:thumbsup2:

    I used all the info from this string to do my mod.I took my deck apart and mounted everything inside.I even lit my old cassette lights. The jacks and switch are protected under the old cassette lid.I installed a light in the cover for night time driving,It works well.Paysaw:Cool_cool36:

    I am almost finished up install.I took pics of all of it. I made my own intercom cables added an antenna combiner as well.If you have any questions please email me and I can tell you what I did.

    I love this group. I found a unit with the correct wiring.I will document my retro-fit,This will be good for anyone who has this problem.The people here are helpful and caring.I want to contribute.When I get this done, I will post my install with pics to this group.

    I just bought an 83 Venture Royal.She is a beauty. I picked up a Cyclecomm cb system for it from Ebay. I am missing the 6 pin dim cable to connect it to the amplifier and some other connecting hardware. I bought an antenna combiner for it as well.Can anyone help me with this. I have done all the research on Cyclecomm and Airrider.Airrider cannot help me either.Any help would be great.Thanks all, I also wanted to add the bike has a working radio intercomm system. I am just trying to install this cb system to my bike. Thanks for any help, Ray
