This is great way to take off the the rear wheel if you have an 83-85 that has no extra parts on the front wheel. If you have disk and rotor covers you still have to take that off and line it up again to install. If you have chrome on the rear end you still have to take that stuff off too.I found on my first Gen 83 it was easier just to take it off the old way.The only thing you dont have to do is to take off the rear fender your way. That it only 4 fender support bolts and 2 fender bolts.If you tilt the bike down on the forks you might need a hand or a jack to lower and raise the rear wheel.It all depends on your extra's:cool10:

Abdul you missed a nice ride.I know it is a pain for you and me to get out there but sometimes you just have to just give in to pleasure. We had a great ride from Carl's to Toms place. Carl let me be his second.He was affraid my little Honda could not keep up to his Venture. He told me later he had disconnected one of his spark plugs just to make sure I could keep up (LOL) It was a fun time for all.You were missed.

I am sorry to say I sold my beautiful 83 Venture. The guy who bought it loved it as much as I did. I added a bunch of chrome on it and boy does it look pretty.I am moving to a Honda ST1100. I do plan on getting another in the Venture series but much newer. I am not leaving this forum though.There are lots of great people here.The guy that bought my doner bike joined because I told him how awsome this sight is.Pics will follow later.

This is a great forum.I always see a guy pull into my condo complex with the same colour first gen as mine.Never met the guy. I walked over to it today and noticed he had a black rear fender.I wrote him a message on one of my business cards with my number and told him I had a spare gold rear fender if he needs its.I will let you know if he gets my message. We are alot of caring people here.I am proud to be apart of this forum.

If I am right,I think the hang points were changed in the 86 and up models.

Hi All I have an 83 Venture standard parts bike for sale.I would like to sell it as one piece.it has 99KMs on it.Seems to start well and run great.There is upper swingarm support damage that a few hours, a welding torch could fix.Needs a left muffler.Its all here. two bags need lock mechs.Stator output good. Would need tires for a safety.I have the ownership. Its not too pretty but could turn into a great weekend worrior bike.So if you are in southern Ontario are area and need a parts bike, give me a hollar and make me an offer. Come and get it!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Has anyone come up with a shade tree way of setting up the middle gear lash?.I had to pull my middle gear again because of a leak I had it the gear bearing seal.I replaced the middle gear unit but would like to take the time to set the lash with the shimms.Thanks. Ray
