1. Sorry to see you are leaving.I ride a Honda and I am still here.LOL Take care and safe riding. You really won't find another group of people like us!!!:cool10:
2. Hi.I am sending prayers to a speedy recovery.
3. Hi Brian. Your mechanic confirmed my suspicion. it is a heck of a job but you dont have to pull the motor out to do it.Thats about the only thing you don't have to do, But honestly all you need is time. You will have to take bags, seat rear wheel and brake, drive shaft and drop part of the swing arm. If you can find someone that has done it before with the right tools and few coffees if you really go at it you could get there in 2 hours or so hoping you have nothing rusted. Now loosen the pinch bolts( I think there is three of them) that hold that part of the motor together at the middle gear I think there is a rubber boot there too that has to be removed first that has a spring connect to it to make a seal at the middle gear. Then take out the bolts that hold in the middle gear to the tranny. Get a screw driver and wedge it in between the middle gear and the engine case.Pry it gently from different parts of the middle gear and it will slowly come out.You wont think so but it will. There will be numbered shims that will fall out when the gear comes out. Pay attention to their placement as the are used to adjust pinion offset. After some cursing you will get it out. Be gentle with it as you do it.Think about your first girlfriend!!! lol
4. Hi Brian As you know I replaced my middle gear on the 83 I had.It had a very similar sound.Do you have an oil leak at all? If you had an oil leak on that side of the motor under the middle gear that could tell more of a story. Other than that , it could be an internal transmission upset stomach.:confused24:
5. Thanks frank
6. Will a 83 collector go on a 86 bike.
7. I will have more places to mount the cam on the Venture. The Honda does not give many options.I like the look Brian.:stickinouttounge:
8. Great Video Brian How did you mount yours to your crash bar? I use mine on my helmet for now to see my perspective. Ray
9. Brian you are cheeky!!!! lol:rotf:
10. The floor board setup seems to be for a person who is tall and has big feet.Although the boards are big, the bike is still easy to handle.I am 5'7"
11. I took the pic of my blond with another blond friend of mine Charlene.
12. :cool10:Hi Folks I just picked up another Venture. It is an 84 Royal in not bad shape. She has been sitting around for a long time but I will have her road worthy by spring.:cool10:

Iron Butt

I did my Iron Butt Ride yesterday. Left here in Mississauga and went west to Sarnia.West to Flint MI. North to Sault Ontario. East to Sudbury, east to North Bay.Then south back to Mississauga. Not a great time of 21 Hours as I had many social stops.I met some interesting people along the way including a school mate I had not seen in 38 years. I will post pics later. It was a great day and a great adventure. Ray:322:
16. I just got one too.Thanks Steve!!! Good deal:cool10:
17. My niece and her boyfriend are stuck up north with a bike running at red line.Throttle moves correctly but the bike still red lines.I am going to pick them up now with trailer. If anyone has any suggestions please call. Thanks Ray 416-567-0055:whistling:
18. It was a great day in Dover with Steve and Carl.I had to leave early for a family gathering. It was so hot I got a tan.The pink tea shirt thing was funny too.It was just another random act of Carl's kindness that caught Steve off guard.Just another crazy adventure with a bunch of Venture riders. ( not me) ..lol:cool10:
19. I think I am going to meet up with trader and leave from my house.we have been invited to make a stop at my friends place in Windham Centre wich is on the way to Dover for coffee. He has a big farm as i am told.Anyone who rides with us is invited. The more the merrier .:bighug: That includes Carl too...
20. Hi steve I am up for the ride.I have to make a detour on the way to see a friend along the way.Let me know and we can meet.Oh yeah and there is that Carl guy too.
21. All the best to you Abdul. Have a speedy recovery.Port Dover will not be the same.Ray:fingers-crossed-emo
22. Anyone interested in doing an emergency Monday morning ride that live in the Mississauga Toronto area let me know and we could all get together. cheers Ray:cool10:
23. A good friend of mine has a Vic Vision.Great bike but a bit ostentatious for me.He rode by me and the bike has a unique awesome exhaust note. He complains of wind buffeting at highway speeds. I hear they are a nice bike to ride and very well balance. I would not say it is a quick as any of the Venture family. It sure is a head turner though. Ray:cool10:
24. Angel got home safe.He was stoked by the whole experience.
25. Glad you made your ride safely.
