1. You truly have a beautiful example. My first Venture was a low mileage 83 Royal.I sold it and bought a Honda.Could not get that old girl out of my head so I bought a blonde 84 Royal and am in the process of restoring her. These are fabulous bikes and you will have lots of fun and enjoyment out her. Enjoy my friend and welcome to the Venture family.!!!
2. Hi. I had a pair of these floor boards on my 84 Venture Royal. They fit fine. I swapped them with a member here Yamamike who put them on his 83.
3. Hi Evan. My brother is in town and may want to go to the show Friday as well.Maybe we can get together. Also, Ben I have a windshield and gasket to get to you.Make sure you get in touch with me to get these items. I am very close the the airport .I am not sure about the meet and eat at this time. Ray:)
4. Have fun over there Ben.We would love to see you pics when you get home..
5. Nice truck. Where's the fire!!! enjoy it!!
6. Speedy recovery Tom and Amy....Glad you got out alive.
7. I was talking to a guy that had a Burgman 650 scooter that he rode across Canada last summer. He said it was a delight to ride and was fabulous on fuel. The only drawback is the small gas tank.He could not say enough great things about it.
8. Lets see.I am trying to get mine started. When I do, I am going to bleed the clutch, change out the rear brake caliper and change all the pads. Then, I will fix my air system.I traded all my floor boards with Yamamike already.I have chrome disk covers to put on, chrome caliper covers to put on and rewire the lighting with relays.I have a beautiful Markland rear fender kit I have and I am undecided if I will use it.This bike has another kind of kit on it. I have lots to do this winter.!!!
9. Thanks for the tip Mike.
10. I recently bought an 84 Royal. When I picked it up it started well. As it sat , it got harder to start. Now It wont start at all.Lots of battery and turns over good.I hear the carbs getting charged with fuel and can smell fuel as it turns over. I bought new plugs and I am going to try that first. Is there something fundamental I should be looking at too.? Ray:confused24:
11. I just picked up a new to me 84 Venture. It ran when I picked it up but would not idle.I started it up today to move it. It refused to run. Lots of battery and turns over fast. The engine was inconsistent running and the throttle is slow in response.I can here it trying to start but wont catch .Where should i start looking first?

I have at Drift 170. I mounted it on my helmet.I love it.easy in the wind and lots of storage space.Easy on the battery too.
13. Sorry to see you are leaving.I ride a Honda and I am still here.LOL Take care and safe riding. You really won't find another group of people like us!!!:cool10:
14. Hi.I am sending prayers to a speedy recovery.
15. Hi Brian. Your mechanic confirmed my suspicion. it is a heck of a job but you dont have to pull the motor out to do it.Thats about the only thing you don't have to do, But honestly all you need is time. You will have to take bags, seat rear wheel and brake, drive shaft and drop part of the swing arm. If you can find someone that has done it before with the right tools and few coffees if you really go at it you could get there in 2 hours or so hoping you have nothing rusted. Now loosen the pinch bolts( I think there is three of them) that hold that part of the motor together at the middle gear I think there is a rubber boot there too that has to be removed first that has a spring connect to it to make a seal at the middle gear. Then take out the bolts that hold in the middle gear to the tranny. Get a screw driver and wedge it in between the middle gear and the engine case.Pry it gently from different parts of the middle gear and it will slowly come out.You wont think so but it will. There will be numbered shims that will fall out when the gear comes out. Pay attention to their placement as the are used to adjust pinion offset. After some cursing you will get it out. Be gentle with it as you do it.Think about your first girlfriend!!! lol
16. Hi Brian As you know I replaced my middle gear on the 83 I had.It had a very similar sound.Do you have an oil leak at all? If you had an oil leak on that side of the motor under the middle gear that could tell more of a story. Other than that , it could be an internal transmission upset stomach.:confused24:
17. Thanks frank
18. Will a 83 collector go on a 86 bike.
19. I will have more places to mount the cam on the Venture. The Honda does not give many options.I like the look Brian.:stickinouttounge:
20. Great Video Brian How did you mount yours to your crash bar? I use mine on my helmet for now to see my perspective. Ray
21. Brian you are cheeky!!!! lol:rotf:
22. The floor board setup seems to be for a person who is tall and has big feet.Although the boards are big, the bike is still easy to handle.I am 5'7"
23. I took the pic of my blond with another blond friend of mine Charlene.
24. :cool10:Hi Folks I just picked up another Venture. It is an 84 Royal in not bad shape. She has been sitting around for a long time but I will have her road worthy by spring.:cool10:
