I rebuilt a slave I got from a member. The cylinder was clean with no pitting.I gave it a light honing to clean it up.I just picked up a motor with a good working slave.I might install that one first and see how it is.I have multiple clutch issues so I will have a weekend of experimentation. I have slipping and not complete clutch release.I will post my results.
I am planning a trip with a buddy .We are leaving the Toronto area and working our way down.We are crossing at Detriot and doing the ride down. I will post my route but would like to meet some members on the way .I am looking forward to this.If all goes well it will be mid July.
I am pulling mine off this weekend Ben.I will give you my findings.I think this has been like this for awhile on this bike and no one took the time to fix it.
Great Job
For anyone with an original fuse block it is important to change the old one out.The fuse parts will crumble in your hands if you push too hard. I replaced mine and noticed arking under the terminals. This is a must do if you have a first Gen.You dont want to be on the side of the road for this.
How bad are the ones you have.I have a pair of them that are painted black. They are mostly there bu could use repair.New ones are almost impossibl to find. You can have my old ones if you pay shipping. Ray
Change all the fluids. This includes brakes and clutch.Dont even start it until you have changed the oil and plugs .Pull off the wheels and check the pads.Pull the seat and check for everything.Check all your wiring.Animals like to chew wires. A new battery is in order.Your carbs will need help.
Thats a start.
Hi
I bought the same camera. They are a great cheap unit. You have to download the files to your computer. Then open them up with your viewer and see what you've got.If it seems fast you will have to download another viewer and convert the files. You can pic the file format the camera records in . This is just another reason for a ride Steve.
I had an 83.The only difference in that year was things like clas system , cb radio. You can only use a 83 cluster on an 83 bike. After 83 the clusters changed. There is no stop watch, dimmer, or gear indicator on an 83 in any model.
I had no choice but to drill out my clutch reservoir top plate screws. What is the type and number of screw that I can use for a replacement.I have to bleed my front brakes and I am going to have the same problem. Thanks all.:confused24:
I just sold my Honda ST1100.It was a great bike .Lots of power and fabulous on twisties. I did not like the seating position on it.I moved mine on to someone I know who is about to love it.Find something that you like and go for it,I went back to a Venture for its comfort and ease of riding. Also, I have less of a chance of losing my drivers license on it...!!! :cool10:
Well, I checked for spark on all cylinders. All was good. I changed all my plugs. They were badly carbon-ed up.I hit the start button and it started instantly. It blew out all kinds of black smoke for the first few min.Now it runs like a champ. It purs like a kitten.Nothing out of the pipes at all. Thanks for your help. Now on to other things to fix.
