HI wayne
I have 2 TCI units from 84 bikes,One I think is good and one is for parts.Let me know if you have issues. You can use my TCI as a tester.Good luck with her Wayne and post your results. Ray PS . I have 84 coil set too..
I had the similar noise happen to me on my way back from eastern Canada. When the noise got bad the speedo froze. It went away but I will lube it when I get a chance soon.
Hi Scot,I too was thinking about you.It is great to be surrounded by people who are concerned for you and your mental well being. We are all here to aid in your recovery.Cheers and mend well.
I rebuilt a slave I got from a member. The cylinder was clean with no pitting.I gave it a light honing to clean it up.I just picked up a motor with a good working slave.I might install that one first and see how it is.I have multiple clutch issues so I will have a weekend of experimentation. I have slipping and not complete clutch release.I will post my results.
I am planning a trip with a buddy .We are leaving the Toronto area and working our way down.We are crossing at Detriot and doing the ride down. I will post my route but would like to meet some members on the way .I am looking forward to this.If all goes well it will be mid July.
I am pulling mine off this weekend Ben.I will give you my findings.I think this has been like this for awhile on this bike and no one took the time to fix it.
Great Job
For anyone with an original fuse block it is important to change the old one out.The fuse parts will crumble in your hands if you push too hard. I replaced mine and noticed arking under the terminals. This is a must do if you have a first Gen.You dont want to be on the side of the road for this.
How bad are the ones you have.I have a pair of them that are painted black. They are mostly there bu could use repair.New ones are almost impossibl to find. You can have my old ones if you pay shipping. Ray
Change all the fluids. This includes brakes and clutch.Dont even start it until you have changed the oil and plugs .Pull off the wheels and check the pads.Pull the seat and check for everything.Check all your wiring.Animals like to chew wires. A new battery is in order.Your carbs will need help.
Thats a start.
