  4. It's just too easy to get caught up in the argument no matter what side you're on. To have a policy against ANY political/religion/morality discussions is the ONLY way to successfully run a forum. What generally happens is that a political post is made and the opposing side feels they have to respond to both take up for their side and also to balance the discussion...which really NEVER happens. I too have been caught up in them...even on here. I won't anymore. I just don't respond anymore regardless if the facts are accurate OR inaccurate. Not only do I do that here, but also on Facebook, emails and anywhere else a political discussion can take place. Like Don, I delete any political/religion/morality discussions on my forums. I also delete the entire thread, that way there is NO QUESTION as to what is left in the post and what is taken out...plus it is just MUCH easier to do it that way...then everyone tends to get the idea much quicker. Thanks.
  5. Don, I am leading a group (15-25 riders) today to eat catfish in a place called Georgetown Onestop here in Arkansas. It's about 17 miles from my house, but I have folks coming from as far away as 150 miles just to eat this catfish. I didn't care for catfish 10 years ago...not until I started eating at this place. This is THE BEST catfish you'll ever put in your mouth. It is a HOLE IN THE WALL (literally) place that is only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday's. On any of those nights, a RESERVATION is required (we go during the day). This lady has had this place about 20 years, she uses ONLY flathead catfish, she uses ONLY fresh RIVER CAUGHT catfish, and NOTHING is ever frozen. She cuts the fish into chunks, and trims the fat! There is NO DARK MEAT or muddy taste to this catfish...NONE! There is no menu!!! For $8.50 you get ALL YOU CAN EAT CATFISH, FRIES, HUSHPUPPIES, CUT ONION, TARTAR SAUCE, DRINK, AND DESERT (usually Lemon Cake)!! I have eat catfish all over the place in the last 10 years (since I started at Georgetown), and have NOTHING as good, not even close. If her fish is a perfect 10 on the scale...the next closest place would be (in my opinion) a 3. Some people like catfish for the muddy/sewery taste, but I prefer the cleaner taste. I'm hungry just writing about it. If you're in this area on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday...let me know, I'll BUY YOUR DINNER!!!
  6. My brother (Air Force) gave me two pair of those gloves. I like them a lot, except the ones he gave me were gauntlet gloves and MILITARY GREEN.
  7. Yes...it does. It is sewn in. My pet peeve is gloves that allow you to pull the liner out if your hands are sweaty or wet. This one is secured inside. Wally
  8. Now I'm laughing (I think).
  9. Mike thanks...I'll take a look at those...I hope others post what they use. I might be in your neck of the woods (Charleston and Beaufort) in Mid March on the bike (Weather willing)...I'm gonna make a loop from Arkansas to Chesapeake, VA then down to Charleston (used to live there) and then on down to Beaufort (stationed there)...then back to Arkansas...all in 5.5 days.
  10. Hey what part of the state is that in (I'm looking now), but for others...it might save a minute or two.
  11. My hobbies are: photography, computers, travel, wildlife, yellowstone and interacting with Native Americans.
  12. And does anyone know what a "Gustav Relay" is...LOL It takes a spangley rounded wrench to get it off.
  13. Ouch...that wouldn't be the first time I got in trouble for a prank. LOL
  14. Don..that was my "sad" story to win the money...notice the "TOTAL".
  15. A beautiful day here in Arkansas (temperature wise anyway)...and I got my bike out for a nice little 125 miles. But sadly, the bike just quit for no reason. I was 17 miles from home. I had the dealer come pick it up and they said it needed a link of wire and a fuse replaced. Here is what they charged me: Towing: $48.00 Fuse Replaced: $22.50 Rewire Gustav Relay: $28.75 Labor: $49.00 _________________________ SUBTOTAL: $148.25 Tax (7.25%) $10.75 _________________________ TOTAL AMT OWED: $159.00 I have NO IDEA where I will get this exact amount of money?

  17. I know most of the discussions on here are regarding WARM gloves, but I bought a pair of gloves about 6 years ago at a rally. They are short soft leather gloves...and I love the gloves. But I have tried to find them online to no avail. I went to one of my local bike shops (Drasco Trading Post) and found a pair almost like the ones that I bought 6 years prior. They are Deerskin Gloves made by the NAPA Glove Co. These gloves are very well made and have a soft inner liner. They are very soft and extremely comfortable gloves, and I just wanted to take the time to recommend them to anyone that is looking for a LIGHTWEIGHT, SOFT LEATHER glove...you won't be disappointed with these (or the price). Here's a link... http://ridefashion.com/pgroup_detail/30641_Napa_Driver_Style_Deerskin_Motorcycle_Glove Just an FYI, I don't like the fingerless gloves....if and when I wear gloves, I prefer to glove the entire hand. Wally
  18. I had to look...Now she is GORGEOUS and a DEV too. OK, the world can come to an end...I've seen it all. I would say she puts the + in the Camera+. I don't have tilt-shift, but I do have PS Express or whatever they call it now. I have about 20 different photo apps...but only use about 3 or 4 all the time. A great video app is called...CameraFXV. Some great effects...slow, but great stuff. Here is a small Elvis impersonator I shot the other night (only about 20 seconds), but I made it look vintage. By the way, this guy is GREAT and yes, that is HIM singing. He also from Arkansas... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q65LfNUTQs4]YouTube - Cody Slaughter Elvis Clip[/ame]
  19. Camera+ I use it alot. Wally
  20. Yep...got out and rode today...beautiful day about 67 degrees here in Searcy, AR and stopped out at the Smyrna Church (the OLDEST Church in Arkansas)...and shot a picture with bike in the foreground...obviously taken with the iPhone4 and just a "little" bit of embellishment on the pic. Hope you enjoy.
  21. MiCarl..now that was funny. I won't tell my wife that though. LOL
  22. Just curious if this would work on my bike? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1C-Bxifv2Pk]YouTube - BMW F800S Garage Door Opener www.vet.co.uk[/ame]
  23. I checked my shock...everything is fine there, so I am sure it because of the IDIOT that did the 2nd oil change on my bike (that IDIOT being me). Thanks everyone for the replies. I appreciate the xtra info SilvrT and V7Goose...your responses not only help me, but all the other people that: 1. Were afraid to ask 2. Didn't know how to ask 3. Asked before, but forgot they asked 4. And anyone else I left out. Again...appreciated! Wally
  24. SilvrT...I hope that is what the problem is...on my second oil change, I overfilled the crankcase and had to "draw" some of the oil out. I am hoping this is what this is...I have done one oil change since that overfill...and admittedly, it is about 3/4 on the scale...next one I may go ahead and fill ONLY to the half mark. Thanks. Wally
  25. OK...I couldn't see any blowback from the engine. There are some areas that "oily", but for the most part, it looks like it is coming from the ONE vent tube...I posted 2 more pics. Wally
