I just purchased the Ram Mount Reservoir Cover from MotorcycleLarry.com. This is the cover that replaces the OEM reservoir cover and has a RAM BALL on one end of it. I am just curious for those of you that use this mount...Did you put it on the Right or Left (I am assuming most put it on the left)...and more importantly, do you have the BALL to the inside of the bike or the outside? Do you use the 2" arm or the 3" arm and do you mount it ABOVE the Com/Audio Controller or over to the side. Thanks for any and all help on this. Wally

I have hosted a party of the members of my Arkansas Biker website for the last 2 years in the early fall...Usually the 3 week in August. Maybe we can coordinate this...I also get a discount from one of the hotels there. Wally

The one in Kentucky is usually a VERY fun party. Me and a crew of members from my website have gone the last 8 years...unfortunately they have done some restructuring and now we are just gonna do a LONG RIDE this July....and skip Little Sturgis. Again...if you've never been...GO. Never been to Big Sturgis...and got desire to go. LOTS of reasons why...but I won't get into that... Wally

Like others have said on here...I too have it. Ironically, Me and the wife were going out to eat on Saturday night and I said to her: Lee Ann, I have NEVER TOLD ANYONE this, but I have had a constant ringing in my hears for over 20 years". I have become used to it. It's louder it times than other times and even the tone will change from time to time. I too have some hearing loss...especially in my left ear. That ear has been damaged for a long time and I even had a hard time passing my physical to get into the the Navy when I was 18 years old (1973). I gotta a pretty good "buzz" going right now...RING, RING, RIING.... :-)

No, you do not need the http or the www.

You need the ENTIRE code from the weather website and then you have to hit SAVE TWO TIMES when you paste it into your signature. Wally

Gas stabilizer of sea foam?
rumboogy replied to Maritimer's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My dealer (actually the shop boss) said for me to be sure and use Stabil about once a month to keep the carbs clean... First, I prefer SeaFoam, and secondly does that seem too often to be using a gas treatment or do some of you use it that often. Thanks. Wally- 16 replies

Hey that's cool...Absolutely. Let me know. I have a website just for Arkansas bikers and we have lots of group rides...let me know if you are ever in this area and I'll try and throw a ride together...with FOOD of course. Your kin does't go to school or work at Harding University do they? Wally

My family's thoughts are prayers are with you too. My Mom has COPD and like your MIL, she struggles everyday. A very tough disease to say the least. My hope is that a successful TREATMENT (if not cure) could be found someday for this insidious disease. Again, our prayers go out to you and your family. Wally

OK...I bit the bullet. This morning the temps were 19 degrees outside, so I waited until about 1pm to go into the dealer and take my BEATING. I hate dealing with car/bike salesman...they made it sound like I was doing them a favor...but WE ALL know better. Anyway...I walked out with a 2009 Royal Star Venture-S...Seashell/Raven. It is supposed to be COLD and RAINING for the next 2 days...so I can sit on it and read about it. I will share my thoughts and questions after a couple of days with the bike... And without further adieu...here it is (looks pretty much like the ones on the net) LOL Thanks to everyone for their help. Wally

Like you...I am waiting on the experts...that is the way I understood it...BUT, I am a NOOBIE and definitely beyond my field of expertise. In fact, I won't have my Venture until Thursday or Friday. :-) Wally

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa...I thought there was a MOD cable to fix this...or could you plug it into the AUX input? Won't one of these mods fix this so that you can here the GPS through the headphones? I just did mine and it worked fine. Try pasting it again and hit the SAVE button TWICE. Save it once and before you exit that page...SAVE IT AGAIN...I bet it works. Wally

Obviously it don't take much chrome to make up $500.00
-
bongobobny...thanks. So chrome and a different color. I don't guess you happen to know the exact chrome parts (or any of them)? I am assuming it does not include any "trim" items...luggage rails or luggage rack? If anyone has a list of chromed items...it would be nice to know. Thanks. Wally

And I will have to ask them NOT to install the 6 disc changer in mine. Not only will it take up valuable space in trunk or saddlebag, BUT I no longer play any of my 350 CD"s anymore and instead I only listen to MP3's now. So neither the cassette player and 6 disc changer will do me any good at all.

Passing Lamps...Why?
rumboogy replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Thank you SilvrT, I didn't know if anyone had noticed that part of my question and I asked it in another thread. Thanks for responding. Wally -
First and foremost, I do hope some of my questions help other people. I have done a search here and looked over the Venture History and also even looked at the Yamaha Website (terrible website by the way)...and I am trying to find out more information about the Venture-S. Can anyone tell me ALL of the differences between the standard Venture and the Venture-S (besides the color). What features and/or chrome and if the only difference is chrome...what pieces are added for the additional cost. Thanks. (I think I will be a Venture owner VERY soon). Wally

Passing Lamps...Why?
rumboogy replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My question may be for nothing...I am wondering if the Venture-S already has passing lights? And what are ALL the differences besides COLOR between the Venture models (Venture vs Venture-S)? Thanks, Wally -
Passing Lamps...Why?
rumboogy replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
OK [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?u=1656]VentureRider.Org[/ame] ... I accept that ROFL with pride. LOL Thanks guys for answering the question. Wally -
Probably a dumb question...but are passing lamps for additional lighting, or are they for use just when passing...(Don't laugh too hard). Also...are they worth cost? And if installed by the dealer at time of purchase...if I request they be installed with a relay...will the dealer laugh at me. Thanks, Wally
