  1. When I first got my 2009 Venture home...I noticed that when playing the music through the SPEAKERS...that the volume was speed controlled. In other words...at various speeds the volume would "auto" increase on it's own. I specifically remember that at 50mph the volume would go up quite a bit. That no longer happens. And I know about a month ago that the control center (black box on the left handlebar)...kinda FROZE UP and it took awhile for it unfreeze. So I don't know when it happened OR if there is a SETTING for that...has anyone experienced this or know about if it is a setting related thing in the audio controller. Thanks, Wally
  2. OK...I just looked at the pan...the bumpers are there. I took it upon myself to go ahead and use a couple of the hard rubber washers between the seat screw shaft and the mounting wings. WOW...what a difference. TIGHTER than a DRUM. VERY SOLID. They'll stay for sure. Wally
  3. Ya'll are so far over my head that I feel like the oil well in the gulf. :rotfl:
  4. All I have going through mount holes is a bare screw shaft...no rubber parts at all. Wally
  5. Yep...seat wobble and not front end wobble. Even though the seat is tightened up...I guess my fat A$$ still feels ever so slightly some movement and also some creaking. I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Also...do you think a hard rubber washer between the seat and the mount would both TIGHTEN up the seat and also alleviate the creaking? Any other suggestions (besides losing weight). I weigh about 220lbs.
  6. OK...I took the bike out today for a little spin (not far though...maybe 15 miles)...anyway here is what I did... I reduced the front forks from 5lbs to 0. I increased the rear shock up to 25lbs. I set my front tire (Dunlop 404) to 40lbs. I set my rear tire (Dunlop 404) to 42lbs. I can tell a definite difference! A longer ride would have been nicer...but for now I am happy. We'll see what happens after riding for 3000 miles (next week). The ONLY thing I haven't messed with is the steering bearings. I will wait on those. I do have a question about the bearings though...if replaced are there like a "premium" set of bearings that is better than the STOCK BEARINGS? Wally
  7. BUST MY CHOPS...LOL:dancefool:
  8. So, if I clean my bike with Dom Pérignon does that mean that I'll attract women?
  9. Thanks, I have the progressive pump...so the air is not a problem. I will try that this weekend and report. I am running 4lbs in the front right now and I think 25lbs in the rear shocks. I'll change and see what happens. Thanks, Wally
  10. Well, I did my 4000 mile oil change the other day. I went from the Yamalube to the Rotella T6 along with a Pure One Purolator Oil filter. So my oil weight went from 10w-40 down to 5w-40 and a full synthetic. I also added about 8oz of MotorKote. My whine is still audible at low speeds, but in 4th and 5th gear the whine is TOTALLY gone now. :-) I am very happy with it so far...so we'll see if it gets even better over time...but now my MOTORCYCLE sounds like a MOTORCYCLE in 4th and 5th gear!! Wally
  11. OK...don't hate on me...this will be a VAGUE comment/question/thoughts about the handling of my bike. I still have the stock tires on my bike. I have risers installed. My tires are inflated (both front and back) at 35 PSI. I know that is low for those tires (I think I have my log book stating the front should be 38 and the back 40). Anyway (and here's the vague part)...lately it "feels" like the front end of the bike is "loose" or sometimes it feels like the back is squirrely...other times the bike rides so smooth and stable. And I don't think it is the road...I am pretty sure it is either the BIKE or my IMAGINATION....but it's enough that it rattles me a little. So my question...would another 3-5lbs of air in each tire make that much difference? The bike is only 6 months old...could it be the steering bearings? Any ideas anyone?
  12. Raymond thanks for the tip...I will print this thread out before I leave...Glad you enjoyed most of your trip...hope we do too. Still looking for ONE MORE guy to go... Wally
  13. Brian, Excellent information there. I will run this by the other guy and we'll probably take your advice(s). Especially for Amarillo and Albuquerque. I'll let you know what we decide on...and maybe I can buy you a beer in Amarillo. Thanks again...Killer info!! Wally
  14. Then you might see us...we'll be on 66 some too. He's on a maroon Roadstar 950 and I have the raven colored Venture. Wally
  15. One word!!! HOOKIE
  16. We'd still like to have ONE MORE person going with us. Your expenses would only be 1/3 on the rooms...so pretty inexpensive trip here. Wally
  17. Well, that just stinks. I think many will cry foul!!
  18. gibvel is correct. I should mention I do not use the CB or intercom. Also, the new 3G headsets have the adapter on the module that mounts on the helmet. Thanks, Wally
  19. If you use earbuds...in my first post...you'll see the link to the exact part you need for using earbuds. It just PLUGS right into the bikes headset jack (where you'd normally plug in to use the headset). VERY EASY to use and well worth it. Here's the link again...and only $24.95. http://plugup.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=19 Wally

  22. Thanks...I think I am going to order one. Wally
  23. Hey Cougar...did you change out the valve stems on your bike? I know the front valve stem is rubber (although it is short)...and some people have talked about them being dangerous on rubber valve stems. Thanks, Wally
  24. OK...a year later. Anyone else try this product? Wally
