OK...since I have began to REALLY enjoy and like this bike, I have been "making it my own". In the recent weeks I have added some leather fringe, electric gloves (Gerbings), changed out the Tank Bib a couple of times (see pics) and added a Gas Cap cover (yep-covering up that chrome). The leather Tank Bib and Gas Cap cover were done by a lady that rides a Tour Deluxe and I think is a member here...but not sure about that. Anyway, she made me a fancy tank bib, but I also wanted a plain black one (which is what this one is). She does VERY GOOD work also. Windshield is next...I am getting the F4 Customs shield. I just wanted to share some of this with the members here. Wally

Loving my 2009 Venture S. I will have updated pics in a few days as I have added a CUSTOM leather gas tank cover (chrome was shining in my face), and a matching TANK BIB. You'll enjoy it...go ahead and PULL THE TRIGGER on the deal. Wally

I work in a hospital (albeit a lab tech), but I see knee replacement patients everyday. Like someone said earlier, the "new" procedures are much less invasive and they usually have you walking (trying) in 24-48 hours. Rehabs are MUCH, MUCH shorter too. My best NON-expert advice to you can be summed up in one word: RESEARCH Research the physicians that do this procedure. You can do some research online, but some will have to be done with "word of mouth" recommendations. Things to consider: Rate of infection, Rates of readmission, Rates of unsuccessful surgeries and finally find one YOU have confidence in!!! If a physician will not discuss the entire procedure (including pre-op, the surgery itself, and post-op care or rehab), then look for another. If you go by "word of mouth", be sure and ask how PAIN MANAGEMENT was accomplished. Good luck. Wally

Hey Bobby...I have the Gerbing Gloves...how in the heck are you running the wires? In fact, how did you do your entire setup?

I'm curious about something
rumboogy replied to shikano53's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hey, I didn't own a 1st generation bike, and I have only had mine for exactly ONE YEAR. The first month I HATED THE BIKE, by spring I liked it well enough to want to trade it in. Now after almost a year with the bike...I am really starting to DIG this bike. It took a long time getting used to...but I can't imagine anyone preferring a a first gen bike over it. Now...before the first genners start to rip me apart...I'll admit I have never rode a 1st gen, so I am NOT an expert. I just have an unsubstantiated opinion. -
You got pics of that setup...

Juggler...what are the rumors saying about the new iPad and/or the iPhone5? -
I bought a set of these for $81!!! I got them 2 weeks ago and put them on. The worst thing about putting them on was getting the saddlebags off. These are the exact ones I bought and from this same vendor. QUICK SHIP and I was (am) VERY HAPPY. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-YAMAHA-ROYAL-STAR-VENTURE-DELUXE-SADDLEBAG-RAILS-/190474023671?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c5922f2f7

Just curious as to what is everyone's favorite motorcycle magazine/riding magazine? I know there are several out there, but I think best ones are those that don't cater to any particular brand and speak more to the tips, suggestions and articles in a more general way. So basically, as a rider (of a Venture or Gold Wing)...what is your magazine(s) of choice? Wally

Windshield Advice Needed
rumboogy replied to BG Hawks's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Hey JerryT...can you tell any difference at all on the F4 tall from the sides. I think it's supposed to be 2" taller, but also 2" wider on each side. Could you tell that less wind hit your hands. This is my next purchase (just put the rails on). By the way...nice bike. I love the color! (That's what I have). LOL -
Yes it does just pull out. It's a right angle plug...just pull straight out and then I have velcroed the lead up underneath the little storage pocket in the saddlebag. Wally

gunkylump is correct about the antenna and XM on the zumo 550. There are some other differences though. Lane Assist (for larger cities and metropolitan areas) Speed Limit Signs and major highways (map view) Configurable DETAIL TABS on the map view I think it has a faster processor (don't quote me on that) If you get the NavWeather package (additional monthly fee)...you'll get radar and forecast. Yes...it has it's own wiring harness. I have mine mounted using the Ram Mount using the Ram Mount Reservoir cover and works very well. Wally

It's funny how after you pull the trigger on a deal that seems too good to be true...it usually is...Now my question. I bought some brand new (what I thought were genuine) Royal Star Saddlebag rails on eBay for a very good price. And while they look great and arrived still in plastic...there were no instructions in the bag. Is this a straight forward install or do I need to install these a certain way. Wally

I'm just wondering if anyone has used the McCuff (and no it's not an adult toy) . It says it will allow you to fill up your tank (TOPPED OFF) with one click. I wonder if this includes the air pockets that we have in the Venture? Anyone ever used one? http://www.mccuff.com/ Wally

Saddlebag and trunk liners for 2007 RSV
rumboogy replied to JMP's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I got the personalized TLC set (saddlebags and trunk liner). I don't use the saddlebag liners (just too much in and out stuff going on, plus I have the inside of my saddlebags customized)... BUT I USE THE HECK out of the trunk liner....very nice!!!
