    i thought with a dealer it works like this sir you can come here and get the part and install it your self it will save us time and labor. but sir i have to inform you that you need this special tool to remove it. our cost around $75. but we have a loaner program here on tools. just put that $75 down as a deposit. come back after you replace that fuel pump. bring back the tool and get your $75 back oh and sir i must alos inform you if you do the work and you mess it up some how then the warranty is now void

    ok ok i know its in oberlin Ohio. but address would be nice please. almost 500 miles from here to oberlin. i guess i could just follow all the second generations as the first ones will be all ready there. i will be in the cager.for this years event.

    well i went to check the shop thats doing the brakes and what ever else he can perform in the 600.00 range dianne gave them permission to do. i was told i was doing nothing wrong with working on the brakes. but my brake system is now laying on the bench. front calipers rear calipers. front master. and rear master. front rubber hoses as well as the one i got from dingy for the rear. tires are off and all rotors have been pulled. reason why the man said hes going to start from scratch? clean up the rotors? work on the calipers. looking for steel or at least new rubber hoses? i asked if he could wait and i could get a delink kit for the brakes. he stated for insurance reasons he wouldnt want to take on that risk? he said good idea but he must follow shop rules? i asked how far on cost are we in it? he said tear down and inspection. are a freebie to dianne? he owes her a favor? then said to redo with rubber lines and clean up and check operation of pistons in the calipers then reassembly bleed and test run cost around $300. range maybe $400. with steel lines. then said another $60 and he would try a carb sync? that includes 4 new plugs. and a free compression check? then said latter this fall or winter get them progressive spring and do the front end. will charge $50 and a case of beer for that because he will do it at end of ridding season. im now painting a huge garage door. dog sitting two wonderfull beagle dogs use to be a cat around here to?? but i think buckey one of the dogs ate it??i have to watch him hes fast and loves rabbits? the female one sadeyes is her name just acts like a female. just bring me my food water my toys take me outside then after that i dont know you:big-grin-emoticon:

    well i went out today to look at bikes with dianne. she.,s the one who had the accident with her ninja. we looked at v stars im not impressed with them. sorry . just my opion. shes still in the looking stage. still has time since she needs to let that broken wrist heal. well we got home and drove by my place and my bike was gone!!!! i went **** the police took it? she laughed and said i had it towed. to a place who is going to work on it. and its my treat to you? she said she tould them to do up to 600.00 in repairs? wow i love this woman as a friend of course. heres the kicker. while shes gone. i have to paint the garage door and watch the dogs. cute little beagles. so its going to get fixed still need them bleeder screws that where sent many thanks for that.

    yep sure can. cant understand why this is such a hard thing to get done? the independent front i did that in like 5 minutes flat? got a good handle. and fresh fluid in that one that one alone will slow the bike down. but? i dont want to be doing over 30 mph and try to stop it with just that one. i think i might limp it about 4 miles to a shop here that will work on it for $65 per hour? said he wanted to rip the whole brake system down and look it over. could be around $250? have no clue what that includes? tomorrow im going shoping with dianne a friend of mine who had her ninja all busted up . shes looking at a yamaha vstar.650 i think? im thinking of maybe going that route myself in the near future.

    thanks everyone. just put on the master from dingy. going to try and figure out why the mityvac wont pull fluid through? it was working on the rear .until the friend rounded off the bleeder. i have only one thing left to do. if i cant get the brakes to work? its off to the stealer.or it goes up for sale.

    anyone know where i can buy some for my 1984 venture? i have been working on my brakes. got the master from dingy here on this site. went out to use the mityvac.friend was helping he was going to do the back for me while i went to pick up some micky.d breakfast for us. i got back and he said hey man im sorry i couldnt get the vac to pump up? and i rounded off the back bleeder. i didnt get angry these things happen. but if he cant tell a 8mm wrench for god knows what he used? any way i know cant gett he mityvac to work on this back bleeder. i went to auto parts store napa.o,riley no help there. . so if anyone knows where to find some or has some for sale let me know. also can you use the speed bleeder ones with a mityvac? if i dont get these brakes done soon the bike goes up for sale.

    well i made a few phone calls and was informed. that if the bike or even a car was parked on a public street. or even in your yard. it must have current tabs. well duh!! the reason the city enforces this is because of what they call the junker rule. seems like my town had problems with broken down cars in yards that where not up to date on tabs and so forth. this makes it hard on a person who might be restoreing a nice muscle car.the rules on that are the car can be on your property. must have tabs and current plates or you can purchase a rebuild permit? if its coverd it must show the back plate? any car not moved on a public street after 7 days. is subject to a tow sticker/ you can then drive the vehicle down to show them it does run. and they will remove the sticker if you do it with in 3 days of the tow it sticker. if it gets towed cost is $125 for the tow and $15 per day stowage charge. damn this town. realy loves to stick it to there citizens. but i was told i was in the right. and if it gets towed or gets a ticket. it could be harassment?

    well i came home about 2 hours ago after picking up some choke and puke for dinner. when i saw a nice officer looking over the motorcycle. i parked the car got out and said officer is there something wrong? he said well i been driving by here for the past week and noticed this motorcycle is still parked in the same spot. so im writing up a tow it sticker? i asked did you run the plates to see who it might belong too? he said im about to do that? i said well im the owner and i live right there. in that apartment thats about 14 feet from the bike. is my front door. he said oh well you should move that bike so we know its not stolen and abandon? i didnt want to tell him it was coverd last 6 days so what makes him think someone just up and left it? and it has current tabs? today i pulled the cover off. to do some cleaning on it before i install the master that will be comming shortly.. and explained i do not have off street parking here. as do the other 2 renters. but to make him happy i fired up the bike to show it runs. left it in neutral and pushed it 5 feet backwards. therefore moving the bike. he said ok it runs and it has been moved. i said yep thanks. he then said i will be back in 72 hours to make sure its moved again? damn what a jerk. if he would have put that damn super sticky red ticket on my new windshield. i might have went to jail.

    i sufferd from this at one time. i switched to selsun blue shampoo. then i used a old granny hair net before i put on my full faced helmet. then after a long hot ride and yes my helmet is vented. i would wash my hair with 2 parts white vinegar to 1 part hydrogen peroxide. this would clean the scalp. after a ride. then wash and shampoo as you normaly do.

    this sounds nasty. at first i thought he put a hole in the bottom of the engine? but where the oil filter goes man that sucks. now when i was a kid i did take out a couple oil pans on a few cars dont ask:rasberry:

    as you can see in the pics this master is full of rust a friend cleaned it up and we installed it for crap and gigles and filled the res. and now it wont pump fluid to the calipers ? system must be full of air. and wont push fluid? so it must need the might vac back on it and draw the fluids. but hey i took it for a short burst down the road i have no brakes but the independent one on the front. but no lock up after a half mile?? but then again if they aint working they shouldnt lock up? i got niece and nephew day at 1:00 so time to stop clean up and put the cover on it or they will try to climb on it. the boy can be a hand full. the niece. just wants cookies and turn on the dvd player and you never see her again unless its time for a new movie. LOL they promised to help wash the bike when im done. wonder how much:mo money: there old enough to know that coins are not as good as that green stuff. now the rest of you here why you not riding??

    well i got the master off and i mean the master this time:big-grin-emoticon: im trying to figure out how to post the pictures here i can put them on my profile in my album. but let me tell ya what i found can you say rust and more rust? the hole is pluged with rust... under the rubber boot where plunger goes in full of rust if i pull that big c clip will the tube come out of the master?i should say when i pulled this i noticed the master was holding the brake in the engaged position so when i was useing the brakes it must have been slowly holding the brake from returning? therefore making brakes start to drag then overheat the brake fluid and wham lock up. and yes an old goat can learn new tricks many thanks to all of you. as i now have a good idea whats wrong. im thinking wait for skydocks rebuilt master he will send me off a mkII. i could clean this but like i said full of rust and is it worth going through the troubble of putting it back on no mater how hard i clean it. im sure more rust will get through.

    aww man do i feel like a fool:bang head: i didnt tear it down far enough:bang head: just saw the picture on here of the master and what i did was removed the res. cleaned it. reinstalled it then saw the picture of the master on here by the way thanks for posting that pic. dragonrider. now tomorrow i know what more to do. i take it the plunger rod will stay on the lever so just pull slowly to take off master? ok you all can call me names i got it comming to me. but im still going with a master from skydoc. the brake hose from dinngy. and do it right. look im new to this type of brake system but i think im going to get it done right in a week or so.

    hmmm why does this sound familiar? im in the same boat when it comes to the brakes i thought sell it and walk away from mine as well. now if i can just get a pic as to where this hole is every one talks about? now i removed what i thought was the master but im guessing i just pulled the res? it was full of yellow film like crap. now im feeling like a fool so what does the master realy look like LOL /

    well im getting down and dirty with this i pulled the master off. noticed the hose was very very soft? also im going to have to take a pic to show you this and figure out how to post it? this master has been fixed kind of welded. by the fill bolt? they did a good job but still? well i pulled the top cover off and damn!!! PO must have had this bike over in the sand lot? inside was a yellowish looking film? and what felt like grains of sand? i could pull it out like snot!! and the white plunger thing for the brake switch was stuck? im now going to give it a good cleaning. reinstall the new hose i bought re flush out the brake system. forth time has got to do it? but now its miller time and the nephew and niece are going to be here to see and stay with uncle jim. while mom and dad get a little time to them selfs. plus i get cookie and cream ice cream. now where did i put them barney tapes:scratchchin:

    please be care full out there this weekend. i have not met any of you yet but i feel this is like a big family. and i would hate to hear bad news about anyone going down getting hit ect ect. be safe out there my friends. enjoy the weekend and ride like everyone is out to get ya. oldgoat:Venture:

    yep i think the master might be shot to heck? good old skydock bless his soul got a PM off to me on what to do. going to give it a shot latter this evening. if that dont work. he has other options. poor man had back surgery and still took the time to get to my PM hes tops in my book talked abot replace with a mkll rear master? i just cant understand why good old yahmaha didnt put a darn sight glass on these rear masters? or some kind of darn dip stick. all right im waiteing for it?

    ok im going to wait for skydoc to get better then im sending the calipers out for a fresh rebuild. i tried every thing in the book. i bought a mighty vac flushed the system. new DOT 4 . as thats all the store had on the shelf. took it out for a ride today just up and down my back road here after about a mile of back and forth it locked up again this time 5 ft from my front door. so im lucky there. so my opion is calipers need a rebuild? it must be sticking? sorry to rant here guys and gals too. i will be comming into some money in december due to a uncle who passed on. so a new bike might be in order? but this one will remain with me its gotten to be a chalenge and sooner or later one of us is going to give in LOL
