oldgoat replied to oldgoat's topic in Watering Hole
could be there fool but I tell you what. he was dead set on getting me for some reason. or he just wanted a nice ride back to the end of the road? never seen that happen before most times they just run from the bike? it looked funny till he grabbed my arm. lucky I had a jean jacket on. full face helmet and gloves no telling what damages he could have done? I think the little beep beep my horn makes did not impress him much? next investment for the bike might be a stebel air horn? we shall see if the little sucker is still around next time I go to that park area again -

I went out for the second ride of 2016 a little chilly but nice. I was going down this back road to a park when I met the ninja squirrel that little sucker was standing by the side of the road when I first passed him. I think he flipped me off? I went down the road to stop at the out house and drain the lizard I came back out did the turnaround and headed back. well there he was smack dab in the middle of the road squatted and ready for the leap of faith when I was right about to hit the little sucker . I hit the horn he launched the death launch he hit the wind shield bounced off landed by my side shook it off and made another launch right at my left arm he tried to make a death grip on me. I flung him off to the side of the road. looked in my mirrors and there he was running after me like I stole his nuts or something? man if there like that down there I can only think what if they gang up on us? -
well after a long talk I told him it is a good bike. new brakes but the tires are about 4 years old? if I am reading the code date right on them? the seat need to be recovered torn at the seams between rider and passenger area. cowpuc he has been on a bicycle and still rides one with an electric motor on it. also has one of then gas powerd 80 cc bicycle at 6 ft 2 inches he has no problems holding it up. or just about any motorcycle I should think? I gave him my ok and that we need to ride together. I think it will work out. but he does weave a lot? at low speed. he is going to pick it up this Friday. I am going to change out the oil and spark plugs on it for him just to be on the safe side. it was running last year the lady said her boyfriend changed out the oil last spring and she only put on 1500 miles? it had stabilizer in the tank but I think I will drain it as the tank was not full .about a half a tank. I will do my best to make sure it is safe for him. thanks every one

well a friend of mine is looking at a 1982 Kawasaki kz 1000? it has 16000 miles on it runs ok? needs a little TLC. what is bothering me is he has not been on a motorcycle since 1988. is what he said? he do go and take a motorcycle course from the state of IL and passed 2 years ago. but never bought a bike. keep in mind they put you on a 250 cc bike .. you pass you get a card to go down and get you class M I took that bike out for a test ride to give my opinion on it. as far as the bike goes it is fast!!! lady owned needs seat cover or new seat. now here is where I don't know what to do? like I said it is fast!! and I don't think he should get it because of his skills. he is dead set on it. I just don't want to see him go down on that thing at a high rate of speed. I just hope he rides with me or by his self and learns that bike is not a 250 and to respect it. so should I just sit by and let him get it with out being kind of brutal and honest about his skill level and how fast that thing can go?

randy I lost all of mine in the flood my dd214 and my medals I contacted the state of MN and the town of brainerd where I joined up. they got me an exact copy of my DD214 and for a small fee of $12 I got all my medals replaced as well. only thing they could not replace was my old uniform and dress greens. but heck I could not fit in them now anyways LOL

had one of them when my daughter was born in 1980 that dog was the best baby sitter we had. and loyal to the max. hated the neighbors cats. they would run by just out of reach of her chain when we tied her up for a little while out side. well them cats got a hard lesson she got strong enough to pull that stake out of the ground. they got one hell of a shock when she pined one to the ground. did not kill it but sure made it think again about coming into her area LOL good luck and I wish you many happy years with your fur child -
I cant let off back pressure from my exhaust im afraid of what might come out. or I might blow a gasket and brown rusty looking water might come out LOL

I did not get much as of yet. this Christmas is a bad one. I lost my wallet with over $430 in it that was for bills and a few gifts. wallet was found at Wal-Mart but the cash was gone. it sucks. I hope who ever got that money had more of a need for it then I do. I had to ask a church for some food to see me through till the end of the month. and they did help I then returned that kindness by going to that church and doing a carpet shampoo and general cleaning of the place. I just want this Christmas to be over. I lost to many friends in fact all of them from my youth are gone. but I am looking forward to a new year and better times like I had this past spring and early summer I wish all of you a MERRY CHRISTMAS stay safe and stay in good health
