motorcycle trailer at uhaul is 14.95 for 8 hours i think this would be best. and if he buys i will pay for that cost. better to be safe then sorry.
-
it wont? that,s not what i wanted to hear. im thinking the bike is at least 8 ft? and even if he kept the tail gate down it wont work? maybe he should rent a uhaul motorcycle trailer?
-
well he called and is comming on saturday. he wants to know if this bike will fit in the back of a chevy s 10?

im just trying to cover my butt. as im darn sure this bike will make the trip. i just dont want the person to come back and say hey it broke down half way. and now i want my money back then i have to fix what ever broke. im a pretty darn honest guy. if it where not for me needing the money to pay off my car. i would not sell it. i fixed a lot of things on it. and she looks fair for a 27 something old motorcyle. i started asked for $1500. and heck i think thats fair. but i can be talked down to no less then $1100. for non members LOL he says he,s a godd mechanic at wrenching. and i stated the carbs might need work. every thing else works. new tires about 2 years ago with less then 500 on them. all calipers and brake pads done a nice exhaust put on it. i think some seafoam and new plugs and she will run like new? but i just dont have the $ and time. and my knees are bad. if all goes well and i get my work comp settled. another bike will be under my arse. maybe not a venture but it will be a yamaha. so this is what i wrote up I_ James hack-- here bye sell a 1984 yamaha venture royal to______? for the sum of__? on _______date. with 77,400 miles. bike is sold as is where is. no warrenty and all recipets are in the plastic bag. with owners book. and tools that came with the bike. sale is final. and transfer and title is to be done here at the DMV. i will not let you ride the bike home on my plates . and all extra parts are to be taken with you at time of sale.

I put the old girl up for sale on facebook. and got 3 offers. im asking $1500. and have 2 that are interested at that price. they both live 3 hours away from me. im prety sure the bike is road worthy to make that ride back to there place.? as i claimed it was. i did tell him to have someone follow him. what i want to know is how do i write it up. bill of sale? so that im covered? maybe sold as is where is? no warrenty. implied? and no refunds? any help would be appreciated. also have to get it down off the center stand and out to the road. but i think we can do that if he wants it. this will pay off the balance on my car. and i can be stress free for a while.another bike will come along some day. and im not going away from here.

it,s old age catching up with me i guess? sometimes i put things away or some where to be safe but never found. i thought i did this with the pictures? as for selling it. well it,s just sitting and hard times are once again heading my way. im still waiting on a work comp case to settle. my savings are gone. im on a fixed income. and this is not going to change. for a while. i could cash in my life insurance but then that would mean my daughter would have to cover that expensive funeral. unless she just buys a garbage can:rotf: and tosses me me in a hole some where? i do have a pre paid plot and a stone. so im about 2/3 of the way . and i would rather see this bike on the road again rather then it being parted out. and if i could trade it for a putt around bike i would do that too. looks like the end of summer or early fall and the workers comp will be done. i hope. if i sell the old girl im still staying here. not going no where. to many nice folks here.

i posted pictures of how the bike looks now after some cleaning. still thinking of selling the old girl. have to get it out from around back. and put tags on her. she still fires up good but just not right? will idle after a little warm up. but pops? maybe new plugs? and im sure it needs a carb sync. PO said he never new how to do it? as you can see from the pics she needs a good paint job. usual cracks. i did replace most of the fairing trim around the radio speekers on both sides i have 2 sets of side panels one set needs paint but has the chrome on them. new tires 2 years ago dunlop 404.s i will go into further details should i make the leap to sell it. i would trade for a smaller bike no less then a 450cc just to get my ride in for this season. well enough for now check out the pics in my profile and if any one wants to make an offer feel free to shoot me a PM

to keep things interesting you have to mention momma trains pick up trucks or gettin drunk so someone add another verse to this thread ok i give it a try. i was getting drunk the day my friend called to say he was getting out of prison. so i fired up my pickup truck. to go and get him. but while i was on my way. i saw his momma and daddy on a second generation trying to out run an old locomotive train. and the train out ran them anyways. and i will hang around as long as you will all let me.

im going out on a limb here as i do not own one of these bikes. but could it be what we use to call a frost plug? for coolant?
-
wow i can just see it now some bright boy at the dealers will use a impact wrench to put that on and just like your car tires you will never get it off

my grandpa use to say that to me when i was a wee lad. when he took me to the junk yard looking for parts for his 1940 plymouth. he gave me a toy tool box and said cob a few parts for old grandpa. i think this was to keep me busy while he had a few snorts with the junk yard fellow:whistling:

get your tool box out and cob a few parts ?LOL just kidding

warm weather on the way i thought i might as well get ready to uncover the old girl. and do some cleaning. gas at $4 a gallon i think im going to ride it for a while. just to get maybe my last joy out out of it before she goes on the for sale list. someone left the key on ?? when i showed it a few weeks back:whistling: and i killed the battery. i took it to a shop to be charged and load tested. when she,s up and running and i hope i dont blow another rad hose. like last year. im going to see if i can get the rootbeer gang down here to help me get it out from behind it,s hidding place. like some folks here im not worried how the old gilr looks for now. just want a good run out of her. and if i get this small time job this summer. cutting lawns. i will be doing okay. i figure if i go for a long haul on it and something breaks on it i have towing. so i should not be afraid of trusting it any more. if she brakes down. im coverd. my knees still hurt but i think i can hadle the beast for a while. i see no reason not to ride it while it,s up for sale.. i think this is my year to enjoy it for a while or hate it if she brakes down. wish this oldgoat good luck.
