    just got the call that the operation is set for july 9th. wow lot,s of stuff to get done before this happens. have to get a medical release from my regular doctor. then a dentisit? something about if there is any bacteria in your system such as a tooth needing to be pulled you have to get it done before the knee operation? i do suffer a little from bleeding gums not bad. and i m now on anti biotics for that so sure hope that,s not going to be a problem? now i just kneed to get well after the operation. thanks everyone james AKA Oldgoat

    ok i just got approved for a total knee replacement for my very bad left knee. this will be done around the end of july. what i want to ask is? how many here had this done? and how long did it take you to feel like you could ride a bike again? also the right knee needs a partical replacement. most likely a year after the left. i was told that after the left one is done i will be sent to a rehab place for 2 weeks because i live alone and i have MS as well so they want me working the new knee for 4 to 5 hours a day for that 2 weeks the lots of PT there after. no driving for 6 weeks? this sounds like a good plan and i hope it works. not sure how much pain is invovled in healing ? im prety good at handling pain. and im sure they will dope me up. bad news is no new bike this fall. but hopes are for a good recovery and a new to me bike in the summer of 2013 i will have about $3900 to $4200 for a bike. wont be able to find one with the voyager trike kit for that amount. but if i get a light bike and low in the seat hight i should be able to hold it up. well let me know how you all did if you had this type of operation. and how long it took ya to get back on a bike thanks oldgoat

    my aunt passed away today. i know she,s in a better place but it still hurts the family she left behind. she will be missed. we have lots of memories. and time will heal us. we have a lot of work to do in the following weeks to come. still have to finish cleaning her apartment. then the funeral. get pepole back to there homes in other states.then just go from there. thank you all for your prayers sincerly james AKA oldgoat

    it,s just a matter of time now the family was called into today. she can hardley breath, doctor said maybe hours? this was at 8:00 am to day. i just got home. she,s doing bad. her son is staying there. and we did get some of the family from indiana here. it,s just a matter of how long.she knows where there but can not answer us back. i guess where all ready for her to go. but it will be hard. thank you all for your prayers james AKA oldgoat

    well as some here know the family had to put 2 of my aunts in a home. one suffers from dementia . the other one has lung cancer. the one with lung cancer was rushed from the home a week ago with breathing problems. today she stopped breathing. they now have her on a force breathing machine. it does not look good. the tumor is now in both lungs she has maybe 20% or less capacity. and it,s still spreading. her son my cousin is her last child out of 4 she out lived three of her children. right now all we can do is wait. doctors said she wont be comming out of the hospitial. just a matter of time. robert my cousin has a verry hard choice to make. he,s going to have to say pull the machine when the time the doctors say there is nothing more to do. my sister and i have not had to do that. but my mother died in my sisters house from bone cancer. my brother died in my arms from pancreatic cancer. in his apartment. with my sister by his side. my dad died from colon cancer . 20 minutes before i reached his bed side. my uncle died from lung cancer. this damn cancer took a lot of my family. and im realy tired of it. but what can a person do? when the good lord makes a call to you to come home that,s one call you cant put on hold. or let go to voice mail. well thanks everyone sincerly james AKA oldgoat

    let the fun start. sorry another year i could not make it. had the funds to do so. but now dealing with a very sick aunt, lawyers, and stuff. but im there in spirit.

    i just want to say to every one i know how important leather and ridding gear is. but today i was behind two bikers who where in full leather. at a stop sign. well one of them started to kind of rock side to side on his bike. i thought he was just doing it to keep his balance. when all of a sudden the bike and him tipped right over to the right. right into the biker next to him taking both bikes down to the pavement, the one ridder managed to keep his bike on the crash bar. the other one did not look good at all. by the way i put my flashers on and got out to help. i called 911 and the ambulance attendent said it looked like a heat stroke? the guy was screaming in pain his arms and legs cramped up so bad they had a hard time getting a needle into him. we pushed his bike off to the side of the road. and called his brother to come and get it. nothing major broke on the bike. sso just saying be safe out there we all like a nice day to ride but it,s 91 out here today. and that heat can kill you.

    well i got a nice email today from that dealer. he explained that about 4 years ago a kid came in and wanted to take a new crotch rocket for a test ride. at that time they let people do it. seems the kid went out and ran into the back of a car at a high rate of speed. he sued the insurance company of the dealer ship for $200 grand and won? reason was the dealer ship did not instruct him on the the top speed or how to handle the bike in a proper way? so not only did this kid wreck a new bike but it made the dealer ships insurance company. tell the dealer ship that they now had to carry a minimum policy of at least 2 million in liabilty alone. or offer a one day insurance coverage for $250 billed to the test ridders credit card and payable to both the dealership and the ridder incase of an accident to the bike and or both? this not only protects the test ridder but the dealership and the insurance company so it all makes sense now. wow times sure have changed since i last bought a bike at a dealer back in 1990?

    could be my long hair in a pony tail? need a shave? and i did not have cash to make a deal yet? that,s it i looked like a biker bum? and the salesman was in a suit? they did have some nice bikes used for sale though. so i will keep them in mind. the mechanic was very nice. and knew all about the history of 2 of the bikes that where for sale. the other ones came in from an auction sale of a dealer that went out of buisness? they did have a very nice 1995 goldwing for sale. need a few tweeks here and there so the mechanic said? but it was road worthy and passed there inspection test? i was some what interested in it but just felt it was to big . they offerd the voyager trike kit for it that the PO brought in for it but never installed it for an extra $1500 but they would not install it? total price for the wing with the kit was $4600.00 bike has 67000 on the clock. everthing worked on it but the cb would cut in and out? and could use new tires.

    well today i went out to look over some used motorcycles to kind of get a feel for what would feel good to ride. i dont have the cash yet. but things might be good in august for a new to me bike. i stopped at a dealer and asked about some used bikes. he had a vstar 650cc nice bike low miles and a few honda shadows not sure of the size? i asked if i could take out the vstar for a ride? he checked to see if i had my endorsement and i do. he said yep you can take it for a test ride but you must have a major credit card? i was like why? he said they run it through and place a $250 amount on your card? when the bike comes back and there is no damage your card will get that $250 credited back to your card? i thought maybe it,s to cover some insurance thing? kind of like a car rental? i was not asking to rent the bike i wanted to test it. i left with out the test ride. but did get to hear it run and look at the maintenance records. what the hell how would i know if that bike had brake or transmission problems or something untill after i bought it? i never heard of this before. has any one else?
