My mustang got in a little wreck and I found a 92 trans am for 340 bucks. I bought it before even looking at the odomoter. I got going down the road and i looked down and saw it only had 113xxx miles on it. But anyways back to my question, I want to put a 350 LT1 fuel injected motor into it, can i still run the tranny that's in it now?

Passing gear??????

My 85 had the same problem. I replaced the the clutch springs with heavier duty ones, and that helped some, but i could still get it to slip. My bike didnt even have 30K miles on it. I would suggest the whole clutch especially for 120 -
So if you put a bulb that pulls more wattage in, does the bike just give it that much more wattage? Or do you have to put an amp or something like that on?

i do agree that that is probably the best way to go, but as a broke college kid without $300 to his name, the free idea with more work involved works for me a little better

Does anyone own one with a cb? Do the original CBS allow you to talk, or only listen? I'm thinking about swapping the one from my old bike to my new bike. To do this I'll have to swap wiring harnesses too. So I guess another question of mine is, is it worth it???
-
Have any of you ever had the fairing off? What about swapped wiring harnesses. I want to swap the harness from my 83 with a CB to my 83 without. I believe this is going to be a job, so what are some of your opinions? Would it be easier to splice in the CB? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks- CJ

I believe it is called the needle daiphragm for the carb, but im not entirely sure. Started my rebuild today and noticed all the rubber boots had holes in them. Anyone who knows that its called would be much appreciated

Noone that I have come across in my life so far is or ever was an original owner. Well, one reletive of mine was and he totalled it setting the cruise so i dont really know if that counts. I guess what im asking if there is anyone who is or was, what made you chose the venture over the GL 1200/1500. Have you ridden both bikes? And what are your key favorite things about both? I just figured this would be a neat thread to start. Well ill buckle up for hopefully a great story!!!

Chaharly replied to Chaharly's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
They went several hundred dollars for them online. Does anyone know where i can get some cheap? -
I have access to a brake lathe. Is there a resurfacing spec to redo the calipers?

Anyone Swapped Wiring Harness
Chaharly replied to Chaharly's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The bike that i have is an 83 royale. It has the neutral indicator, no cruise control, but does have a radio. I do not know what options the harness has, it was given to me by a member on the site -
If we're talking for my main bike, the bike that i'll ride every day, it would have to be the wing. But thats because i want yamaha to come out with a new tourer like the goldwing, you know, a new first gen like tourer! So right now, yes goldwing 1800, but i've always liked the 1st gen ventures more than the goldwings because of the looks and style. I do like the 2nd gens too, and will get one in the future
