I think I'm going to go ahead and do the Butt Butler mod! Was referenced to me by a member and seems like a cheap and effective way to increase cruising range!

I will definitely be getting ahold of you soon about a seat job sir!

That is sick! Totally unique too thats gonna turn heads for a long time -
Does anyone have one of the newer style seats for sale for a Second Gen Venture? Mine has the more firm seat that says Royal Star on it, but i see that the newer stile Royal Stars have a softer more cushy seat. My bike is a 99 by the way.

Ahh youre right! I replaced that last year too!

Are these able to fit on a Royal Star Venture?

Awesome! I was thinking about replacing the bearings anyways because of the age. I had the carbs synced last year and my mechanic told me that it was running great. So it sounds like at 30K its just basic stuff. Which is awesome! I need to get it on my pop's bike lift and just spend some time with her. Where would you suggest getting the bearings?

Rear tire & other stuff
Chaharly replied to farm1810's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I threw the cheapest tire i could find on it, and i can barely hit 6k miles per tire myself. Although i do ride with a pretty quick crowd:stickinouttounge: -
Hey there guys! I have a 99 Royal Star Venture with 29000 miles on it. When i bought it last year with 20k miles I replaced clutch fluid, brake fluid, spark plugs fuel filter and engine coolant. Now I'm wondering since I've hit 30K and the bike is so old what are some things i can do for this milestone. Are there any chassis bearings i need to grease? What about specs and tolerances that i may be able to check. Any info would be great! I guess what I'd like to do is get a maintenance checklist put together of everything i can grease or adjust or fiddle with. Thanks guys!

Gauge cluster lens fix?
Chaharly replied to alvald83's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
i would assume that effort wise, you'd be better just to replace the whole unit, if you could get ahold of one. If anything, break em out, that'll solve two problems :{P -
I have a really sweet 89 Venture now, and I feel a little strange for owning 3 at a time, so I want a v-max. The Drag car of the bike world. Anyone have any leads. Cash is short right now, so i would really prefere a trade. I made a really nice, running 83 out of the two i have. The one just needs a rear master cylinder. The other one needs the carbs put together and both will run just fine. I have the fairings and all other plastic torn off the the one that doesnt currently run. The one that does run has like 28 thousand miles, and the one that doesnt have 58k. The one with 58k ran until i tore it apart for carb parts.

Well last sunday was a beautiful day, it was hot, windy and there were all sorts of clouds in the sky. I put on about 140 miles and decided it was time to head home. I'd been listening to a tape all day so i turned on the radio to hear a severe weather outbreak warning for my area. Actually, not my area, more like about 30 counties surrounding me. They warned of torrential winds and baseball sized hail, so i decided to book it home. I got to a town that was 16 miles away from home and a big black wall cloud was the only thing stopping me from being in a cage, actually able to run into the thing. I decided if i go real fast i might get through it before it gets bad. Do things really turn out like that in life? I should be the one to say hell no. It was a downpour, which didnt bother me (what are the fairings for anyways right?), but then i noticed everything around me getting louder, and the bike getting pushed off the road. I then heard a slight *chink sound, and then another and another. I managed to pull over, do a quick U-Turn and gunned it straight back into the town i was just in. I managed to get out of the storm, which was predominately moving north, as i was moving east and this sort of caught my eye. The part on the right of the picture was on the ground, pushing winds at well past 70 and indeed throwing hail sideways. I was lucky i didnt get in the middle of it. But i put the bike under a lean-to and also watched to funnel clouds rotating from the ground up across the road from me. Needless to say it was a wet and wild ride
