  2. smoke?
  3. I agree with you. I'd love to see yamaha come out with a goldwing killer again
  4. Thanks for the information guys. I decided for now I'm just going to get the closest match to my current color and fix the scrapes and dings
  5. An 1800 wing is about the ONLY bike I'd trade my venture for
  6. Saw a pair posted on the classifieds for 50 bucks
  7. I like these
  8. I'm actually pretty surprised by the pipes they make for this bike. Almost every one I checked out so far has been too loud for me. I hope to eventually get monster ovals, but honestly i like the stock (lack of) sound
  9. Leaking brain fluid you say? If you've got an open spout it might be time to start a miracle brain juice business. What do you say??!! That does however sound pretty intense though, and it seems like when it rains it pours. I hope everything works out for you buddy!
  10. I now have my plan of attack. Thank you sir
  11. I finally did it after waiting a few days from my dealer for the gasket. Only one of the slip ons had a gasket in it lol. Well i crushed the gasket a little trying to get it to squeeze into the pipe but i got it. Got the bike all back together and all i gotta say is wow. My RSV now reminds me of my old 85 and is a much more enjoyable ride for me. When i pulled the old slip-ons off my bike the baffles fell out of both of them, so she was a screamer before. I found a pair of OEM slip ons from a tour deluxe as advertised with little to no scratches. They looked really nice, but one of the tips has a big scratch across it, which wouldnt be a big deal but it IS the only part of the pipe you can see But I think I'm just gonna keep the stock pipes on. I love the sound and it really turns these into a sweet bike! What do you guys run for pipes?
  12. Okay guys so I'm planning on buying that new bracket for my trunk. Mine however, is already cracked. is there any way to repair this or do I need to buy a new trunk any information would be appreciated thank you
  13. Really terribly sorry for your loss. I'm definitely going to get my dog's trailer done for sure now
  14. My 99 is the same exact way. I would have swore someone stole them off of there! Must have been a first year thing
  15. So I need a quart of red a quart of silver 2 quarts of base and 2 quarts of clear?
  16. I gotta buy a can of the stuff anyways so might as well lol:confused24:
  17. Awesome sounds simple enough. Now another question... what can I do about the rust on the inside of my shiny screw heads and also in the joints of my reflectors. It's there any way to take rust off chrome?
  18. Hey guys! I have a 99 Rsv and the black boxes that cover the air filters are really faded as is the plastic piece on top of the tank. Is this something I can bring back to life without paint?
  19. I paid too much for my 99 at five grand. Just turned over thirty thousand miles
  20. Wouldnt mind seeing the add for the maxim is it in the classifieds?
  21. Ahh you gave the site some sex appeal!!! Looks great from what I can see so far. Can you maybe put a little more space between forum titles? It gets a little hard for me to focus. Thats for when you've got it safely running and can tweak with it a little bit. I must say I am jealous because you seem to be a very smart, very motivated man and I hope someday to be able to do things like you can!
  22. Sorry to hear about your father. Thoughts and prayers are with you:bighug:
  23. Hahaha thats an excellent point! I went to the color rite website and yeah they do want bucu bucks for their paint but since they claim they're the only ones with OEM Yamaha paint, I'll probably pay it just for authenticity. Thanks for the info though guys!
  24. I'll be doing this to my RSV this winter too. I'm putting the leveling links on, so I may have to fight it just a little to make sure I keep the tire off the ground.
  25. I actually was just thinking that to myself. I'm picky about my bike and I doubt I'd let his disassemble it. Either way though that is not a bad price. I graduated from an automotive college and my friend went through the painting course. He painted his bike and got best in class and second best in show for the car show he took it to. So I need hardener and flex stuff? I'm sure he'll know all of this but I'm just trying to get my grounds covered. I'm going with the tri-coat color rite matching stuff too. Might as well spend some money!
