  1. Sounds like a fair amount of work. I'll have to do it after I get the valves adjusted
  2. I made my links for less than 2 dollars. Really simple to do.
  3. Ever....
  4. Put on my nexon last night. Good looking tire!
  5. I'll definitely give everyone my two cents on the dark side riding. I put the leveling links on too so she's gonna feel like a totally different ride. Dad and his biker buddies sure don't like the idea of dark side riding
  6. You could totally whip me up a "Freebird Centerstand Bracket":whistling:
  7. Well I finally went ahead and repacked the swing arm bearings. Still had lots of grease. While i was under her I made up a set of those leveling links and installed those too. I feel really confident about getting it all back together. However, the needle bearings where the bolt for the leveling links go didnt get cleaned really well. I just kind of ran my fingers through it and pushed out as much old crappy grease as I could and packed as much of the pink stuff in as i could. I think it'd be fine that way. Really an easy job, and I dont think I'll ever even think about swing arm bearings again until 100k miles. Really they move so little and such a small amount of grease is all you need anyways I dont think its worth the extra trouble. Did anybody fight that stupid U-joint when going back together. Could NOT make it stay up so we had my brother hold it up from the front with a magnet while i finally worked it in. You DEFINITELY know when its in too it'll tell you. And those STUPID "Y" pipes made me scuff the hell out of my reservoir cover too. Oh well. While i had the wheel off I finally went to the dark-side. I put on a 165/80R 15 Nexen and had to pump her up to about 90 til that bead set. My only question is how do i get that rear wheel pulled apart. I would love to swap out those bearings in there because they feel like they could definitely use it.
  8. Alot of guys install a tach. There is a write up on the Read Only section of the 2nd gen tech talk. If you're trying to sync the carbs or set the idle I know that most shops have a little tool you just set on the motor and it can somehow figure out your R.P.M.s
  9. Gonna crack into it tomorrow if I get the chance
  10. a million dollars? Jeeze:starz:
  11. Im glad you pointed that out. Nice to hear that SOME disciplinary action was taken

  14. I dont feel like the kid should've been pulled over. However I also feel like the kid REALLY SHOULDN'T have flipped that cop off while he was being pulled over. But i mean getting actually arrested for an obstructed plate... that is a little over the top
  15. And i switched back to my stock pipes. Im 21 and have already heard enough of the exhaust. If i had a RSTD i probably would keep loud pipes on it, but these bikes are just too sweet to not be able to hear the engine purr with the radio in the background
  16. i found a pair online for fifty bucks and saw recently someone was selling a pair here for the same price
  17. Okay so the he is a kid on a crotch rocket, which must make him a bad person... https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10154835842025112 what do you think

  20. I agree with you. I'd love to see yamaha come out with a goldwing killer again
  21. Thanks for the information guys. I decided for now I'm just going to get the closest match to my current color and fix the scrapes and dings
  22. An 1800 wing is about the ONLY bike I'd trade my venture for
  23. Saw a pair posted on the classifieds for 50 bucks
  24. I like these
  25. I'm actually pretty surprised by the pipes they make for this bike. Almost every one I checked out so far has been too loud for me. I hope to eventually get monster ovals, but honestly i like the stock (lack of) sound
