  1. Alright heres a few more test pics if they'll work I just needed to re-size them! TaDa! Thanks @cowpuc !
  2. That's an awesome pic of the grand kids!
  3. I don't believe so. I'll try that though I don't remember when the last time I uploaded a picture is. Wonder if its been about the same time. No sir, right off the computer . Its still not letting me upload
  4. I tried uploading photos of my heated grip build but its not letting me. I'll try it here... Yeah it wont let me. Anyone else having this issue?
  5. Hey guys! I've got those grips installed and I said I'd do a review so here it is! These grips work wonderfully! Easy to install and on the high setting they get so hot you can hardly hold on. I installed them with a relay, wich I found out i didnt need, but either way I didnt want them to be able to run with the bike off. In the first pic you can see how I mounted the button. I actually gutted the cassette deck and wired in a Bluetooth receiver so all the cassette buttons are just for show. It definitely helped keep that clean look though, even though my crap wood bit bounced all around and chewed the hell out of the plastic
  6. Quincy Illinois is a pretty cool town on the bluffs but probably a little further south than what you're looking for
  7. You wouldn't believe what I-29 looks like south of Omaha. Looks like an ocean except with grain bins collapsed all over. We took my nephews to eminence Missouri and had to find another way home because they closed the interstate again. To be fair though, that entire stretch of road lies in the Missouri river valley so you're really asking for flooding there
  8. Yup Karma done come full circle on that one. Had a dude steal my pickup. He never wrecked or got hurt or anything. Just got arrested and had to pay me 150 bucks. That was good enough for me
  9. Just glad you made it
  10. I agree with that sentiment there. I never lost any air on the way back but the bike just "felt" wrong with that weak link.
  11. "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave" *awesome guitar solo
  12. And yeah those mushroom headed plug/patch combos are definitely what i prefer. But i made the standard cord style work
  13. Well guys as irony (or poetic justice) would have it, the day after i posted this i ran over something nasty and blew a hole in my rear tire. It must have been a bolt by the look of it. I surely felt it when i hit it and about a half mile further it must have spit it out cuz boy did i hear the air! Gentlemen on a Harley gave me a ride into the next town 6 miles over where i bought a plug and fix a flat. I wouldn't normally use fix a flat but they didn't have any bicycle pumps and i didn't want to buy an air compressor that i would have had to break to make work on my battery. Gave her enough juice from the fix a flat to get it off the rim, limped it into town. Filled her up and made it home!
  14. I had a speedo cable fall out while going down the road. Hopefully its something easy like that
  15. Wonder how that would work with my teeny tiny narrow venture wheel
  16. I'm sorry for everyone's tough time with the big C and @cowpuc I'm sorry for all the losses this last month. One thing to be grateful for is that you've been busy with that wedding. Not huge on words, especially with serious situations like what you gentlemen are in. All I can say is that you all are in my thoughts and prayers! Take care guys!
  17. Be sure that you do hang around! You dont need a Venture to be a VentureRider!
  18. Hey guys! I think I'd like to order a plug patch kit. I found this one for 50 bucks that seems nice. Comes with a compressor and all the tools. https://www.amazon.com/Stop-Go-6000-Tubeless-Puncture/dp/B0068FX3VO/ref=as_li_ss_il?creativeASIN=B0068FX3VO&imprToken=A.6rbZtVYOHRNXnr4Frxmw&slotNum=3&ie=UTF8&qid=1487833334&sr=8-1&keywords=Stop+&+Go+6000+Tubeless&linkCode=w61&tag=researchcore8-20&linkId=79405188df5f51964b580f444f4dc7e9 What do you guys bring with you on the road?
  19. That's a sharp Wing! Safe travels bud!
  20. Saw what I believe to be an 87 Standard. It was the two tone blue, but not the same as the 90s Royales. It was definitely more like the blue 83 and 84s. I know also its a pre 88 because its a standard. She was in pretty rough shape, had a hole in just about every plastic including the reflectors. A damn shame with a rare one like that
  21. Man that valley in Utah is exactly my type of camping! So neat and sky for miles! I think I'm getting strange in my old age though. These fertile nebraska valleys get prettier and prettier to me every year. Thats okay though, these are positive side effects to aging unlike the 50 foot mis measurements I have to say though puc, in your videos you ask Tip what the date is... GOOD ON YOU BROTHER! Man I would love to be able to have the kind of time to get truly lost like that! Honest to God true CTFW right there. Leaving a town in Colorado, low 30s. My bike puked and puked and puked out antifreeze but It fixed itself. All new O-rings and thermostat housing and it hasn't done that. If it gets real cold like that I'm gonna really be digging these new heated grips. Oh you guys are soooo funny. Yeah no wonder no one knows what those mountains are made out of ha ha ha In the last post you've showed me that video before. I explained to my parents how I'd camp cowpuc style and would be willing to take a gravel road up to a radio tower to have a free campground. I think my parents think you're crazy though bud... Showing off those muscles might as well call ya a musclehead. Thanks for more of those vids. Got to CTFW today to my brother in law's fathers funeral. What an amazing, touching service it was. He was in AA for 25 years and has helped hundreds of people through rough times. So many people went up to speak about how he's helped save them and how great of a guy he was. I mean its pretty incredible when the service ends with Bob Marley's "Every Little Thing is Gonna be Alright" and the entire place clapping. He had a love of restoring cars and he owned a 99 Indian that my brother in law is going to start riding and man what a beautiful bike it is. His nickname was "Grandpa Goofy" and on his tank on the indian logo is goofy painted hanging onto the "I" Sorry to change the subject like that, but the man lived every minute of his life and now I'm sitting here burning with an intense desire to ride! Take care guys!
  22. Well wouldn't all those babes have Carl's number by now?! Okay cool! We took a trip into Ohio one time and yeah, the traffic (in areas) could be super unforgivable. If I had enough time I wouldn't stop CTFW and hit the whole country... hell the whole continent
  23. Just the backdrop of the mountains in the first video has my mouth ABSOLUTELY salivating for a ride! Now see, I've seen your Ten Sleep video before of the Flaming Gorge and actually was planning on making the big horn mountains on the first night. I never heard of the flaming gorge until I saw your vids. I plan on spending the morning taking in the gorgeous views. And those shots of the two track leading into that big valley in Utah are STUNNING. Now see I gotta ask. I remember you saying in previous posts that when camping in bear country, you park the bike a good bit away from your tent and leave any stinky food in Tweaks so she can fend the bears off for herself. In that first video she's sitting pretty close to tha tent! I remember your videos of ghost towning too. To me that would be the ultimate camping experience. Nothing but the sound of the breeze and coyotes in the distance, and like you said, you can feel the history still pulsing through the ground. People back then were remarkable. Heading out into the unknown like that. Especially when they never had Weather Apps and could only travel what 15 to 30 miles a day max? So basically, what you guys have helped me decide is to take my itinerary with a grain of salt. Like @bongobobny said, there is beauty all over this great country, regardless of the politics behind them! Well now I'm DEFINITELY in the CTFW mood and I might have to start putting the tool sets together to get the bike ready a month early! Thanks for the well wishes Puc, Tip, and Tweaks and I'm sending positive vibes right back atcha!
  24. You hold public office now? Not my friend anymore then Hahaha just kidding Congratulations that's great!
