    Carb Sync

Couldnt he do the left 2 together. Then the right two. Then back left back right and then front left front right. I know you can only adjust the left and right banks together. But if you already ordered it you can still use it to double check right?
  4. Looks like the website that brought us the marshall mod is down. I wonder if its a maintenance thing?
  5. We put 80 in my Nexen. Threw it in the back of the truck brought it home and let it sit against the workbench till it popped. I nearly jumped out of my skin when it finally did!
  6. Sorry to hear about that puc. Noone should die for money. Accidents do happen but it really shouldn't
  7. I saw this on Facebook. Id have to pull over for a picture of that
  8. I don't know if its ok to post here
  9. Had to have a meeting at work yesterday. There was an accident in one of the other plants and a kid ended up getting killed. They didn't explain how but the kid was only 21 years old. A kid a year younger than me lost his life over our work. They didn't even give him a moment of silence... Ive been thinking about it alot these last two days. I can't remember his name but can we please send prayers up his way. Remember be safe in everything you do guys

  12. 57 F today. Went for an hour ride around town. Still dont have a fairing or windsheild
  13. You know, it looks like you go through alot of stressful stuff just keeping this site going. I image its like a full time job! I always felt that if you were bashing on the yamaha or didnt like the yamaha you'd pass the torch, but just the fact that you put up with us, our ribbing about your harley , and just general site maintenance shows your dedication to both the yamaha and your FRIENDS HERE ON THE WEBSITE!!!!! That member is entitled to his opinion, but frankly his opinion seems unfair. Keep it up Freebird! Both us and Yamaha surely thank you!!!
  14. Ok guys here was the solution. I'm feeling kind of dumb for doing this actually. Basically what the problem was my pilot jet settings. There were two actually that were turned out an est. 5 turns and one on another cylinder was running way too rich and didnt make any adjustment until I totally closed the jet. AFter letting it run dry for a minute i turned the jet out 3 turns and it runs. Pulled the airboxes off to reroute a few lines and while I had it off I checked the slides. All are operating smoothly and equally, even with the bike cold. Double checked the carb sync and after that It runs like a dream I'm going to try to post a video. Now That I'm done fiddling with it its time to get fresh clean plugs!
  15. Really liking this idea! Will do that from now on!
  16. And you win
  17. All seems to be good in the world. Back left cylinder was out like 5 turns. Turns out all of my pilot jets were WAYYYY off. I wonder who coulda done that?!?! Running at all four at idle. Now just trying to find the best jet settings for me
  18. Well I do suppose that the carbtune I just got a few weeks ago probably has some life in it LOL
  19. Went through carbs myself. Seemed to me to be running like it used to. Turns out "like it used to" wasnt very good thinking a piece of dust got in while I bad them apart
  20. Maybe take her out to eat too LOL
  21. Per your suggestion step number one will be to put the carb tune on it to find any leaks Thanks!
  22. Thinking it could be spark related too but when I sprayed wd 40 in the port it started firing immediately on that cylinder. I'll swap the plugs around tonight and see what happens.
  23. If all four carbs can be synced together that should prove that they have equal vacuum right? If there was a vacuum leak on that cylinder it should show on my carbtune right?
  24. I don't feel like bikes today (or anything for that matter) are as cool or just generally as neat as they used to be. Very few bikes currently on the market that attract my attention. My dream bike that would be new would be an XJR1300. Which is still a throw back to the air cooled in-line fours of old... Really think sometimes I was born in the wrong generation...
