  1. It's nice to see such dedication to our fallen hero's. Really touching story Puc, she couldn't have gone to a better home. Maybe they'll let you ride her in one off the reenactments
  2. Well I think I have my heart set on another 85 Venture Royale. Some of you guys might even remember when I had that bike when I first joined when I was like 17. I think it'll make the bank happy if I get a cheaper bike plus I never did feel like my RSV was quite the bike my 85 was. I got rid of it because of the second gear started having issues and I've regretted it since. But im gonna test drive some bikes and see if I can't find something that I really like.
  3. I'll have to admit that is one cool ride! Love the first gen trunk!
  4. I used to own an 86 but I remember that I just didn't quite like the thirteen that much. I am still interested though
  5. I think its really doubtful. I had the bike leaning in and out several Times and never felt any squirreliness. After I wrecked I checked the tire for any marks or bulges. When I get feeling better I'm gonna see exactly what happened
  6. Question. What is the difference between the 85s and 84/83s? I know the trunk is different. But what else? I have been leaving toward a 1200 first gen because like you said they are probably the best all around bike for the money. I was interested in the fjr until I learned it didn't have an in fairing stereo, which is a must
  7. Something Like that for sure! Just soo many options Lol

  9. It is definitely wrecked beyond the repair that I can offer. Im sorry to hear about your RSTD too. Although, and I may be wrong, (pain meds) but didn't you sell me that carb tune?

  11. Wel the RSV is shot and its time for something else. I'm really thinking about an older FJR. Are those as accomplished tourers as the venture? Just looking for suggestions so throw out any capable tourers that you can think of. Something 5 grand or less. Thanks guys!
  12. Thanks for the concern and well wishes guys. From what the trucker said my bike wheel started swinging back and fourth even though the bike was not leaning. I think one of our homemade leveling links failed. I'm gonna give it a week or so to look at it. I had my glasses in the side bag and they got destroyed so all I have is prescription sunglasses.
  13. I don't know if itll be fixable. we'll see
  14. I think I'm just gonna make the smart move and get a first gen lol
  15. From what I gather the trucker that I was passing said my bike wheel started going back and fourth like crazy. The harder I tried to stop the more it would pull to the left. By the time I got slowed down to about 45 it was like riding a bull. Then when I hit the dirt in the left side off the road it threw me. I remember rolling 2or 3 times just thinking to myself to hold my arms down at my sides. Had a big mud patch on the helmet as well glad to be wearing it. I got back up right away and the trucker I passed was like "My God are you ok?" "I thought when I saw you rolling through the air there'd be a dead body" he wasn't even gonna stop until I shot up right away. Had about 5 people stop. Everyone around here is awesome. My brother came and got me and we loaded up the bke in a loader bucket and moved it off the road. Hes getting it now. We went to the same day clinic and they were going to send me to the ER but I started getting dizzy so we needed to haul me in on a stretcher
  16. Well yesterday was a scary day for me. 2 broken wrist bones and my elbow is swollen
  17. Itll be a simple fix just hate doing things over lol
  18. Thanks guys appreciating the kind words. They never even brought it up to the other shifts. But i've been taking extra steps since this whole incident to make sure everyone gets home safely
  19. Spent all night tonight working on the brackets for the broken windshield tabs. Kind of had to fight it to get it back together. The verdict.... the windshield sets to high, there is a gap between the fairing and the windshield and also a gap between the chrome trim and the wind shield. I really dont care if the corners of my shield jiggle so I'm probably just gonna take the brackets off. Easiest way to do it.
  20. Awesome job keep up the good work
  21. I've never been ice fishing. It's on my bucket list
  22. Well its going to be beautiful here in Nebraska so I guess it'll be time for a Ride. I conveniently got my new windshield in from edbo. Huge thanks for that man not a scratch on it. That means I'll have a fully assembled fairing and everything will have pics and maybe a video
  23. Looks like a good parade set up
  24. That is EXTREMELY sharp!
