  1. Interested to see how this plays out for you. If my bike gets wet the #2 cylinder will drop out under 1400 rpms as well. Thinking mine is probably just porous plug wires though
  2. These guys have me thinking that maybe there might be too much exhaust fumes... I don't wanna poison the guy :/
  3. They'd be perfect wearing a half shell
  4. They make one for about 80 bucks that you can wear without any helmet. Just sits on your ears. Speakers and a mic, and I even think that if you don't like wearing them without a helmet, you can probably just dissemble the frame and mount them to your helmet. Don't know for sure though:fingers-crossed-emo
  5. Ive pondred over making a trailer for the bike with a big cushion and a wind screen and still have a little room for storage. Dog rides in the back of the truck pretty often, I think he understands that we're moving. Hes bright enough
  6. It didn't upset me as much as it probably should've, still something you won't see me do
  7. Yeah I suppose the extra wheel and car rim would make alot of difference on the safety side of it. How do you like the rsv as a trike?
  8. I guess I just assumed the rubber wouldn't stretch that far.
  9. Well in Germany, on the Audubon there really is no speed limit.... However...... it may have been significantly less than 110 here in Nebraska 60 maybe 55
  10. That's too warm for you SilverT. Thinking you better go park the bike for awhile!!!
  11. Plus with all of the similar Harleys and Goldwings running around we get a bit of a unique feeling zooming by on these (getting to be) rare bikes!
  12. I have to agree with you there puc! The internet is great for connecting us like minded individuals who have experiences in all sorts of different fields and careers. It gives us a 360 perspective, we've got the absolute wrench heads, some egg heads who enjoy putting together things like VIN databases just because they want to, and even people who are professionals at . Add us all together and you've got a heck of a recipe for disaster, but somehow this site's turned in to one of the best databases for Ventures and all sorts of other things. I have no doubt that I could get help doing my taxes, fixing on my dad's 60s international tractor, tinkering on the bike, or making homemade heated gear just by asking the super friendly and helpful people on this site. All thanks to Al Gore and the internet We also live in an age where I can get bootleg CD's and DVDs for free, just with the press of a button! Even on my phone! Technology is great isn't it?
  13. I read up on that too. I should pull the plugs after a few hundred miles with new diaphragms and see how they look. Usually you shim it to make it run what? Richer?
  14. Wow and to think the first time I did diaphrams I destroyed two of them... SMH Darn you guys are good!
  15. Mmmm gotta say I like that a lot! We want a full review after you put some time on her!
  16. No way! You can just pull them out and slide them back into place? I'll be doing that instead! Thanks Flyinfool!
  17. I've got a carb diaphragm replacement coming up and I tried replacing diaphragms on my old venture with a hammer and trying to drive the washers off but that didn't work. So if any of you guys find yourself in a situation where you need to replace diaphragms, take a look at this video.
  18. How chilly is chilly?
  19. They certainly are different than the RSV but I love my VR. My buddies who all own Harley's and Shadows and sport bikes give me crap for having such a big old bike, but when I hop on they say it fits me perfectly. Especially when I leave them in the dust. That's the thing that bothers me though, if the tire would've blown or just went flat it would've made a lot of sense to me, but immediately after my wreck I kicked the back tire and found that it had quite a bit of air in it. Mom and dad have had a couple of GW tires blow while pulling trailers and they haven't had any problems. I don't know why I went down though
  20. Have you been fortunate enough to have to change your diaphragms?
  21. It would probably just blow the speakers right? I felt lije on my 99 those new polks I put on couldn't handle much more wattage
  22. Hey yall. My venture has been getting about 35-37 mpg consistently, but I KNOW I can do much better. I also know that I have holes in all of my diaphragms. I know with the vacuum leaks I really can't accurately set the carb tuning, so my question is. If I replace the carb diaphragms will I see a significant increase in mileage?
  23. I feel much the same way now. I know many, many people have had no problem running car tires, I just don't know what else could've caused my death wobble like that It is very personal Jakester, I feel like I lost a close personal friend. I did however, over the summer redeem myself. I bought my 88 and road it to California, now I'm just waiting for the snow to thaw so I can get the old girl out and get the wind in my hair again! Of course, that's only if @Flyinfool will let me
  24. I like it a lot! Very creative on your part!
