  1. Thanks so much for they help. They've got us working 13 hour shifts right now so ill pull the cover back off tomorrow and see if there's any play in it. Your directions are crystal clear. Once you've got the mechanical slack out it should like pushing 2 metal pieces together. Absolutely no give what so ever
  2. Mine did it on its own with out the lever being depressed
  3. That's terrible news This place isn't gonna be the same without him... Keeping his family in our thoughts. If there's anything we can do for them just let us know!
  4. Hopefully that helps. Text me at 402 649 9218 if you need help
  5. You need to open the bleeder valve and push the clutch piston back in. Mine did the same thing. The part that you have to pull out to get the clutch basket off.
  6. I'm sorry you had to fight that fender so much to get it to fit for ya. At the top quality prices these people feel they can charge for these slingshot accessories they really should feel ashamed of themselves. My dad had a slingshot for awhile, but the price and quality of the aftermarket and factory equipment didn't impress him to keep it. He figured he'd be better buy a convertible so him and ma decided to get a Convertible PT Cruiser with the turbo. Fun little car!
  7. That is the first time I've ever even heard of a Vanderhaal. What a gorgeous machine! That thing screams past and future all at once! I don't know why but I get an intense sense of Café racer looking at that thing! How was the test drive?? Did ya get to really let her rip? And that blue thing on top, was that like a filter for a supercharger?
  8. The inside edges were pretty sharp as well, but the new basket they were satin smoothe
  9. There's a few pictures of the old basket! Looks like it coulda made for a possible chattery clutch? I ran my nail up and down a few of the surfaces and I there were a few spots that are going to need attention. I decided to go ahead with putting the new basket in instead. The new one had a little notched part on one of those fingers so I sanded it out as well. I got it all installed and its mayyybbbeee(?) a little better. Still sort of tries to roll in gear, maybe not as bad. I'm gonna keep trying to work air out of the clutch hydraulics. The only other thing I can think is that the Skydoc clutch upgrade kit eliminates a shim, a retainer wire, and "half friction disc" at the back of the clutch basket and in place substitutes another those three things with a full friction disc. I guess its to reduce the friction zone of the clutch? Would that possibly eliminate some of the precious clearance in my clutch? I've been tempted to buy a new half friction disc, retainer wire and digging the old shim (spacer) out of the trash and trying that
  10. I think it's the same part but the number is a little different
  11. And I've personally never bought a gun. All of my fire arms were hand me downs
  12. You know Tim, I think you might be a genius. I never looked at the basket when I had it all apart. I was sort of just following the directions in the tech section but if I had a half a brain I woulda run my finger along to see if it was smooth! That would explain allot too! I'm going to look first thing when I get home! I also happen to have a brand new clutch basket that was supposed to go in my RSV before I wrecked it. If my old one needs work I could probably just throw that other new basket in right? I mean if I have to do sanding on the old one I'll have to take it out anyways right?
  13. They're quite a bit of fun to buzz around in. I bet they'd be a blast in the mountains
  14. You and I are in the same boat my friend. I changed my clutch last week and I'm still fighting clunky shifting. I'm finding that getting all of the little bubbles out of the clutch hydraulics is a multi day process that takes a butt load of patience. I'm starting to think that since our bikes are 30 years old, maybe with the new heavier spring it's making out rubber clutch cable under the motor to swell? I don't know about you, but mine is always covered in oil. Good luck my friend! I'll be following this post for sure
  15. Have you gotten the chance to ride/drive a slingshot yet?
  16. All you need in Nebraska is a handgun purchase permit. I've never bought one, but in Nebraska if you're given a handgun as a gift, you don't need to have the purchase permit. You'd only need a conceal permit if you intend to conceal it. One of the good things about livin in the midwest
  17. Hey YPE! I've been reading your patiently not so patient waiting for your venture! Absolutely beautiful bike, they look even more delicious in person! I'm waiting on the edge of my seat to hear your review of it! VERY solid feel and amazing build quality on that there yam! If I had money I'd buy both!
  18. Hey guys! Stopped at the local dealer today while killing some time. They already had the cherry SVTC sold and had a charcoal grey one sitting right next to the new 7 speed wing. The floor guy Jeff come out and was showing me all the bells and whistles on it. I sat on it and I must say I really concur with the people who say the front suspension is too soft. Just pushing down on the bars makes it sag significantly and I felt just the little hopping up and down I did really made that front suspension move. I told Jeff that many people have been complaining about the new wings suspension, though the look on hisface showed he didn't believe me. Him and I both agree thick, that Honda isn't hunting the BMW, they're hunting the people like me. The people who want the sport and comfort. The new GW felt way lighter than the SVTC though on the Wing, I didn't see any place for highway pegs. I think the Venture is going to be the more comfortable bike, but if I had 30k in hand, I'd probably lean towards the wing, at least from whay I saw on the dealership floor.
  19. Okay so here's where I'm at now basically. After taking the clutch apart two more times, I found out that that Hollow nut needs to go where the hollow part is towards the inside of the motorcycle or else the inner basket can move in and out. It doesn't sit tight I had it right the first time but I took it apart and switch it out to try it. After that I bled the piss out of the slave cylinder and I still think I must have just a tiny bit of air in there because it's still a little hard to shift and hard to put in neutral it's not nearly as hard to hold in one place but I must still have some tiny microscopic bubbles of air in there. I appreciate all the help!
  20. I'll give that a try now thank you sir!
  21. Alright, so I've got the new slave in. Bled it and it is better, though it still tries to roll while in gear. Not as bad, but you can hear it labor the motor as well. I think I'm going to let it sit overnight and let the remaining air bubbles sort of settle down and hopefully form into less, but bigger air bubbles and first thing tomorrow I'll try to as gently as I can, re bleed the clutch. I read that the reason skydoc replaces the half friction disc, wire and shims is to reduce the friction zone of the clutch. Had I known that before I installed the clutch, I certainly wouldn't have done that mod, and sprung on the half friction disc and new retainer wire. If this doesn't do it then I guess I'm tearing into the clutch to see if I've got something stuck between one of the clutch plates or friction discs. This is kind of disheartening as its 80 today
  22. Thanks Condor! You've been a huge help!
  23. Is it possible for that little ball to fall out of the right hand side?
  24. Totally excited for you man! Just finished reading through this and I hope she's everything you ever wanted!
