  1. After @Prairiehammer showed me that little fuse box I found the fuse and that was the problem. I almost didn't look for the fuser though, because even with it popped I was getting 12 Volts at the red wire going into the amp
  2. All my fuses were good. I'll have to get the volt meter out after I get back from the funeral tomorrow. More than likely gonna need a new amplifier. As an update on the clutch I just went ahead and ordered a master cylinder rebuild kit and will install it this week
  3. Hey guys was cruising along when my radio just popped and shut off. I threw in my spare and it didn't turn on either so I went looking for fuses. Which fuse is the one that goes to the radio? I didn't see one labled radio and the ACC fuse was fine?

  5. I'd love to see some pics of that 89!
  6. I had straight through slip ons on my RSV. It sounds sweet at idle and when you're running her through the gears, but I couldn't help but think it sounded like a lawn mower going down the highway:bang head:
  7. Don't need a Vmax when ya got a Venny!
  8. In Beemer Nebraska the local Policeman parks his patrol truck inn front of the grain elevator and sits in his office. ive seem so many people grab a foot full of brake so he must be onto something!
  9. I think if he rerouted his trip, everybody would think he flipped going to LA... Via Omaha
  10. Yeah see in my head I was thinking cruising at 60 in sixth. That'd probably be low enough in RPMs to benefit from shifting into fifth. I do agree with you though, cruising 80 down the interstate I would leave it in 6th as well. 40mpg at 80 is more than good enough gas mileage
  11. Have you guys tried riding in a lower gear on those windy days?
  12. He'll Is just ride with that little weeper
  13. Puc, you're an awesome dude! You made my day and basically hit the nail on the head! Hope you and tippy are doing good!
  14. Just looking at the two side by side makes me like the SVTC even more. Puts that bat wing to shame!
  15. I should've just looked at your profile info on the right of the screen! I'd love to meet up sometime maybe go for a ride and get some grub! I GOTTA see this 83 you've been dumping love and cuss words into!!!
  16. I was going through old posts and I saw one about 9 years ago that I started and Yammer Dan chimed in with a big old paragraph of help. I didn't realize I knew him or many of you other guys for that long! You people really are an amazing extended family. I wish I could properly put thought to paper, but I cant, so I'll just say this the best I can! I LOVE MY VENTURE RIDER FAMILY!!!
  17. Thanks so much for letting us know! We'll keep him and his in our thoughts!!!
  18. How far from Sioux City are you? I'm only about a half hour and have never spent any time in the Loess Hills if that's how it's spelled
  19. So is Tweaks the parts bike now? What did ya end up doing with that 87?
  20. So you guys lube them pins to keep an from corroding away?
  21. My opinion on these brand new scooters is this. I picked up my 88 Venture for 2300. I've installed integrated Bluetooth so now I have an info-tainment system as well. Hands free calling, music, GPS, and it never has to leave my pocket. That being said, the cheapest of the full size luxury tourers are more than 10 times the price I paid for my venture. And having ridden late model Ultra Classics, Wings, RSVs I can say one thing with total certainty. You're not getting 10 times the bike for that money. The big bore VTwins are specially designed to take you down the interstate at 80mph all day at low RPMs. I will say that they do better than mine on that front, not that the 88 is afraid of freeway speeds, but I'm about a gallon and a half shy of fuel compared to these newer model bikes. These new bikes are made for people like the guy I work with named Russ. He buys a brand new Harley every year and the only real trip he takes on it is interstate to Oregon and back, no back roads, not really any twisties, just straight there and straight back. If I were to buy a brand new bike, I'll be looking at something more in the adventure category
  22. Buy a used one off eBay, drain it into a measuring cup and viola! You'll know exactly how much ya need!
  23. I used my finger. It took alot of pressure and you have to push for quite awhile
