My Brown 1986 is Warthog and my Blue 1989 is Trailer Queen

Well, closest to the very first remembrances: I was still in diapers, and had crawled into the kitchen while the folks were in the playroom. I was so low to the ground, I was fascinated by a line of ants running along the kitchen cabinet base, so I got real low, then somehow I got a taste of the ant poisen (real sweet), so I continued to lick it from the floor, until to my father's surprise! He yelled to my mom to call the doctor, and the doc said for them to feed me a raw egg with warm milk. After I threw that up, I remember getting swatted with a rolled up tv guide (the 5x7 variety) the back page had a cartoon on it. I was sent back to bed!!

That film gave me the chills and so very proud to be in a FREE COUNTRY! I thank all the Armed Forces for making freedom a continued reality! We don't know how good we have it. I specifically was happy to hear a General invoke GOD ALMIGHTY in a prayer for peace!!! Thanks for such significant posting...

I thank you all for the...warning. I will now really check for this before I start out this season. I'm adding it to my growing list of things to modify before I really run this bike. The small patch of tire and the road is the only thing it takes to create a disaster! My tires are about the major single thing I really give extra special consideration!

I had a 1981 and 1986 Goldwings, a 1999 Valkryie and now own a 1986 and 1989 Venture Royales. I really like the "looks" of the 2nd Gen. and wonder how they compare, feel. run. race, against the Valk. Anybody have any direct experiences??? Comments???

Ride Like a Pro.. on a Venture?
Sunrayman replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Well, I had a coupla Goldwings, a Valkyrie, and now two Venture 1st Gens. I can easily make it around a two-lane u-turn with my feet up going a tad faster, adn counter steering, but when I go slow, slow, thru cones, etc., I simply don't see any problem with dragging my feet, not touching (but covering just in case) and have simply full control in the event of a near fall. I do this because I have had to make a panic stop right smack dab in the middle of the turn, and I MUST keep control o the bike, so I do.! Use your feet more often. -
I may be forced to retire early, and I am so excited! I think I can do it, but I am a bit younger than the average. I suspect I will do a few construction projects along the way, to balance cash flow, but I have everything a man could want now, so I feel for you, man! BEST WISHES AND START PLANNING ON BIKE TRIPS ALL OVER!!!

Please allow me a "time out" so I may clean the shi*t out of my pants! I honestly cannot fathom such risky endeavor. Just looking at the edge would make me fall over...

Ken, I have a 1989 Venture Royale sitting down with lost keys. Where do I begin? I looked at the photos of the blanks around here, but I didn't find one for the VR, so I am starting from scratch. How do I find the CODES, too? How much do you charge? I need the gas cap, as well. Is that possible long distance? Thanks, and if you need to email me, you can use; Sunrayman123@yahoo.com THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Don't know if you can rent anything other than a Harley, but I have rented them in two locations, and they run about $1,000.00 deposit and $150.00 per day. Usually limited on the model, too. I couldn't deliver my bike to Puerto Riceo, so I discovered they have a Harley Rental section. The other time I rented in Berwyn, IL and the minute I took the bike at closing, 5:00pm (it took the agent 1/2 hour to process my paperwork), it was a torrential rainfall, and I had to basically slip and slide with my feet dragging all the way back to my apartment on the North Side of Chicago for the foloowing day's plans. I was drenched the minute I got on the bike!

My crew seconds THAT!

Man, from what I know, that answer qualifies you as a FOREST RANGER or something in my book! Perhaps a wise hunter! I dunno. But THANK YOU for such useful information!

Look, I don't know you all, and I'd be far from the truth in saying I've never dropped my bike, but with the day I've just had, and to see that with that FABULOUS sound track to match, just cracked me up! Thanks for your blooper! in the future!

That, my friend was a good post!

I, being rather new here, have read with great interest about these horns. I have two 1st gen bikes, and I'd be interested in advice about how you install and mount these babies on a first generation, with pics if at all possible. Maybe just a few shots showing where you put it under the fairing. I guess I can gather the wiring from other threads.

So glad your friend is alright. When I was traveling through Tennessee on my way to Florida this year from Chicago, I noticed many, many dead deer along the road sides somwhere around TN about 1/2 hour before Murfreesboro. Those things really got me "imagining" scenarios in my head, and none were too good. I, being a city slicker, and therefore having basically no knowledge of these beautiful animals wonder, is there a "season" whereby they don't come out of the forests looking for food or whatever, and then the statistical probabilities of hitting them may thereby greatly decrease? In such a case, I would not ride much during the "hot" season in those parts. Just my "ignorant" take on them. Sunrayman:confused24:

In your opinion, what are the top five states to motorcycle in?
Sunrayman replied to Sunrayman's topic in Watering Hole
That's why I asked the question! I am HANKERIN' to get on my bike and ride! The roads have too much salt on them for me to get it all over my bike! I may invest in a trailer to take my bike somewhere next year! Sunrayman:sun: -

How about Crna Gora??? -
Yeah! I like that! I fergit! Yeah! That's the ticket! Anyway, doesn't the givernment have to PROVE you received the mail??? Isn't that why people get "served" in person? They can say they never received the mail? Mail gets lost, stolen, misdelivered,etc... I dunno, anyone have a reply to the lost mail defense? I've seen lots of Preachers throw out every government document they ever got, with no apparent recompense.

I have many years as a professional in Fabrication and Structural Steel. Moved from Florida to Chicago, IL to keep working,,,(divorced with three kids). I have been with the biggest and best in Chicago. After lay-off for nearly a year, I found an undiscovered company. From Estimator to Plant Manager in about three months. The Controller told me to not push for the P. Mgr. $$$ for the present due to the recession. Bust ass, and THEN ask for the big bucks! The Owners asked me for every trick in the book for the plant. Running scared, I coughed up lots of well earned techniques. About a month later, they laid me off, and promoted a clerk who spoke fluent Spanish to do their bidding, following my mapped out 5 year plan. :mad:When my next unemployment draw runs out, I may have to go back to hustling with a pool cue!!

I realize this is subject to varied points of view, but perhaps there will be a consensus on a few states which are favorites for motorcycling in. Please explain WHY you think the states you chose are the best and include any EVIDENCE or PHOTO's to support your valued opinions! Thanks! I'm lookng for a few new places to travel this springtime! One of mine did, but I was holding on as hard as I could to keep from dropping the new Valkryie I had bought with all that glorious chrome, as I was getting ready to T-Bone an oncoming left turn! The cracked grip on the throttle side tore the hell outta my hand, the only spot I drew blood in the whole incident!
