Please do, i am 6'1 and have the same problem.... may need to get a few used windshields and experiment a bit....
-
There is a seller on ebay with a new standard shield for $80 plus shipping etc..... how did you like the 2 inch crop on your bike? I am considering the same thing, right now I look through the top 2 to 3 inches and would like to see over instead. how about buffeting?
-
sounds good, will be with a few of my group "Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers" , will look for your bike.... cheers, Gary

Hi there just wondering if anybody is riding the "Ride to Live" here in Victoria this sunday... I am entered and will be at Steve Drane around 9 am Last year there was around 1000 bikes...should be fun!
-
thanks for the input... I will be riding both bikes and see what happens. I am suprised the dealer near Seattle has a NEW 08 RSTD.. he also has a new 08 Honda VTX1800 hmmm now thats torque! As far as price on the 08 RoadStar I think probably 8 to 8500 will buy it. The BMW dealer has it in trade. Gary

I just installed new E3's Bias on my 86 Venture, bought them at Adrenaline Motorsports here in Victoria. They were about $40 Ea more then Motorcycle Superstore but with shipping etc , really about the same price . I like to deal locally for this stuff in case of problems it is much easier to resolve, plus helps local economy! I really like the tires, much better than the E2's I had before. Cheers, Gary

Well, I am kinda thinking about another bike. i love the 86 Venture and would keep it, but I found a NEW 08 RSTD near Seattle for $9800 {craigslist} at a dealer. I also found an 08 Road Star 1700 in Victoria with lots of extras for about the same price. Opinions on the Road Star? it is fuel inj, has belt drive {less mntc and no lash } How do they handle vs the RSTD or the RSV? I think they have less HP but lots of torque with the V-twin......Help! Thanks, Gary sorry, make the header read RoadStar 1700.......

Yup, round-abouts are all the rage here on Vancouver Island.... they just built an overpass to the Victoria Airport with {count em} 3 roundabouts on top. the lanes have nice squigley pictures to indicate how to use them, with airplanes and everything. I call them a vehicular aptitude test.... if you can't figure out how to get to the airport , you are too stupid to fly {or work on them I guess}... seriously have these guys never heard of the "kiss" principle? Cheers, Gary

Probably.... also have a ride with CMC Victoria this Sunday so not decided which to go with. Will look out for you if I go... Cheers, Gary

I was wondering how many Gen 1 Ventures are left out there? How many were sold over the production run until new style came along? Just curious ..... cheers, gary

Considering joining the Canadian Cruisers club here in Victoria BC... anybody here belong to this club? Is it very active? Thanks for any info.

Ok, I take the blame... I was bragging about how we don't get snow and cold in Victoria BC. Well, got one foot of snow at my house last night and it is freezing cold {for Victoria} ... hard on the flowers! I am sorry I bragged.....
-
gee it's 9 degrees C here today and sunny...... what does snow even look like?

Thanks for the info, I had not heard of Andrenalin in Victoria... how long have they been around? I will check them out for prices, would rather buy locally. Stay tuned for a Victoria/VI ride out somewhere........ ps how did you like the E3 bias tire?? -
Thats a good idea. This spring we should get a VI run going, maybe to Lake Cowichan pub and back, or ??

I was on Motorcycle Superstore lookinfg at tires for my 86 venture and they had a bias ply E3 showing for sale in sizes for our bikes. They also had the E2's in stock. Both about the same price. I have e2's on the bike now and they are ok yet, but getting old and hard, really slippery on wet roads. Anybody tried the e3 Bias ply?? Cheers, Gary Also, where to buy in Canada, or at least who will ship to Canada {Motorcycle Superstore does not} -
now that is sweet!.... also my choice

I find this subject interesting in that all the Gov't types are acting suprised that there was an accident.... These are mechanical devices and they WILL fail. I work in the airline industry which is the most regulated, safety aware, analysed industry in existance and guess what, airplanes still have accidents, some of which are mechanical faults. I think this accident has just proved the debate about offshore drilling off the B.C coast ...NOT
