  1. if I have to wait too long, I just might buy a tent (or make one) & put a heater in it to make a sort-of-garage.
  2. Hmmmm Good suggestion... I do have the flip-flop down pretty good. However, I'm having problems with the political side-stepping.
  3. I don't know???? They are going to run out of Cassette Players sometime. They have to. Who makes them anymore?
  4. Almost ready to start working on it again... Yesterday I bought a new in.lb. Torque Wrench & ft.lb. Torque Wrench. Members gave me recommendations for Fork Bolt tightening also. Today my Progressive Springs and two liters of 15 weight Fork Oil arrived. Amazon is FAST! All I'm waiting for now are the cap O-ring seals for the fork tubes, & some not-so-cold days. JohnnyB
  5. My RSV 2008 is still a DARKSIDER! Here is the update info... First of all... all the other comments that DarkSiders made about my wobble/tank slapping problem with the past CT installed had to be correct. There had to have been something wrong which caused the problem. Since that time, the rear MonoShock was replaced. That was most likely my wobble problem. After I installed the Voyager kit, I installed a Nankang CT on the rear. No problems were noted for 5000 miles. Then I pulled the Voyager kit off & have been riding it as a normal 2 wheel bike still with the Nankang CT on the rear. Absolutely no trouble has been experienced. The Bike handles great on all those high speed bumping curves going to & from work that were so troublesome before the defective MonoShock was replaced. So there you go, HummingBird & others were right, I was wrong & just didn't work at it hard enough to fix the real problem before giving up & taking the Kuhmo CT off. Argh! JohnnyB
  6. Thanks, I'll be sure to have them spotless before assembly. Torquing will be planned for 18ftlb (middle). Thanks
  7. That forecast is awesome!
  8. Darn! I thought this thread was going to talk about Missile Launchers, Armor or Force Fields. JohnnyB
  9. Thanks very much for sharing. It made me smile. A very big smile!
  10. At the very least I'll pull the bolts & try to get industry marks off of them & then possibly get some some specs to determine safe torquing. Hopefully... maybe... .... unless someone knows & is yet to speak. I hope, hope, hope... Otherwise, I'll I'll take a SWAG. Any engineers out there? If there are, I'm sure you know that a SWAG is a "Silly Wild Ass Guess". Thanks; JohnnyB
  11. /edited to bury the hatchet & continue on - comments removed/ JohnnyB
  12. ---------------------------- The Hannigan clamping is different from the stock. The bolts are bigger & less of them. Stock uses four on each fork (2 upper & 2 lower) Hannigan (at least my 2008 model) uses two on each side (1 upper & 1 lower). I'll take photos latter for everybody's reference (comparing my 2008 stock to the Hannigan). Thanks Freebird. JohnnyB
  13. This is for all Hannigan Steer-Lite owners or anyone who may know the needed info... My parts are on their way & should be received in less than a week. I'm in the process of replacing the stock fork springs & 5 weight fork oil, with 15 weight fork oil & Progressive Springs. Does anyone have info on what the 4 fork clamp bolts on the Triple Tree should be torqued to? Any info or suggestions will be greatly appreciated! I also plan on installing the forks so that the top fork cover is flush with the top of the Tree. Front side flush - back side a little below to make it easy for maintenance checks. My goal is to do this once & enjoy my very nice Venture-Hannigan Trike. Thanks; John
  14. By the way, I have three windshields - short. medium & tall. Change them as the seasons require. mood suits me & for long trips, it's always the tall shield. John
  15. I second the SpeedoHealer For me, I got use to adjusting my speed to make up for the error. Then I would get in my autos & make the same adjustment - Oops! SpeedoHealer for bike is cheaper the speeding ticket for car. John
  16. Well, now that is the day after... Have a very merry un-Birthday!
  17. More parts came... another clutch cover gasket the correct extra clutch friction plate I now have all the parts to finish the clutch upgrade, but I'm ordering the front fork parts today. The forks have to be finished & assembled before I continue now. I want to - have to do them right. progressive springs 15 weight fork oil - 2 liters fork-cap O-rings torque all mount bolts & 2 locking nuts Photos to come... JohnnyB
  18. Windows 8 Please let me know how you like it & if your new laptop has a touch screen. It's fun to hear Pros & Cons of new software/OSs. Thanks; John
  19. Hi Danaman; Here is my opinion... An infrared heater, as others have said, can be aimed at the area which you want to feel heat (your self, etc.). However you will still have a cold draft at your feet. For maximum comfort I agree with TX2Sturgis (I use these)... ----------------------------------------------------- "Now, here is an opinion: One of the best bangs for the buck in electric space heating is the stand-up, large steel fins, oil filled, radiant heaters that cost in the range of $40 to $60 here in the USA....probably a bit more in Canada. They are safe, silent, pet and child friendly, and have no ability to set anything on fire. (within reason) Most of them have dual heat settings, such as 750 watts on low and 1500 on high. These heaters will last practically forever, since they have nothing to wear out, no motors, and the elements are submerged in oil which keeps them from reaching a temperature that could catch things on fire. The best way to heat a room with them is to use two of them, one on each side of the room, with one preferably under a window, unless there are low hanging curtains. Set them on LOW, with the thermostat in about the same range. Now the current demands per outlet are halved, which is much safer, and they will evenly heat the room. Dont try to run them both on HIGH if both outlets are served by the same circuit breaker. They take a several minutes to heat up, but they put out some nice warmth."
  20. Brian; I'm right there with you. Watts is watts.... inefficiency in an electrical device is almost entirely heat, so electric heaters are efficient. Weird to think about it that way though.
  21. Didn't you have cold weather a week ago & snowfall in some areas? I was teasing a work associate about it then, when it was 20 degrees warmer in VA. How quickly the temps change these days???? Glad you have nice weather now. Enjoy! Wish it was that warm here. By the weekend here, the morning temps will be in the twenties. Argh!
  22. I agree... but, I truly believe there is a Santa Clause. Sorry, but I do. He does have a white beard too. OK, I'll try to be good. JohnnyB
  23. Thanks for checking. Thanks very much Joe
  24. "don't argue with a fool!" is so true, but sooooo frustrating to do. I no longer use the TT website - no value there.
