antenna question
s allen replied to Sideoftheroad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
How do you switch the antenna's around? -
The tech that put the I basket in said when he rode the bike it was really quiet, but was not sure if it might come back a little with miles. I'll just have to ride and see what happens. Anyway right now it sure is a pleasure to ride. If it comes back maybe it won't be as loud. I will stay in touch.

:dancefool:Picked my bike up from the shop last nite after they installed the "I" basket,OMG did it make a difference. There is NO MORE WHINE. Yamaha even paid for it. What a pleasure it was riding it home and being able to here the engine and the exhaust. I'm sure glad I did it.

Is there a part # that ID's the I basket or do they just order an I clutch bassket?

I will be going with the extra braces for mine. This was the first thing I noticed after I put highway pegs on. Put my feet on the pegs and the bars flexed. I think they should be at least strong enough to hold the weight of the bike when layed down or droped at the slow speeds. Of course this is just my opinion. Steve

Windshield HEIGHT advice
s allen replied to ablumny's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
a lot of times the buffeting is coming from the wind moving from under the fairing. This was a big issue for me when I had my Nomad. To solve that problem I put larger wind deflectors out on the front forks. I'm running with a stock windsheild on my Venture and have no buffeting at all. I am however looking thru the windshield and at first did not like that. have gotten used to it now. You may want to check to see where the wind is coming from that is causing the buffeting. I'll bet its coming from under. -
Will a louder exhaust sound cover some of that whinning from the clutch? I was just wondering if anyone that has put aftermarket exhaust on or modified the stock mufflers has noticed any reduction of the whinning. Thanks S. Allen
