  1. For all of you who like to hit flying things.
  2. Anything below 32 can make the tires harder than normal. Just be careful for the first few miles until they warm up. I ride into single digits every winter. I will call it quits below zero but that's incredibly rare here in GA.
  3. Never had a bird strike. Must be a Canadian thing.
  4. When I first heard the color scheme I didn't think it would look good. Then a friend of mine bought one and I was really impressed. It looks great. (Of coarse being a Falcon fan I guess I should think anything red and black would look great.)

    GPS

Do a search under GPS and you'll find multiple threads addressing the subject with a multitude of opinions. It really depends on what you want out of it and the conditions you plan on subjecting it to. There's inexpensive and then there's cheap. What works for 1-2 hr sunny Saturday rides may be a total waste of money for 2-5 day tours in variable weather. I have the Garmin Zumo 550 because I'm the 2-5 day variable weather guy. I would NOT have spent the money if I rode less frequently but for me it was worth every penny. I encourage you to read a number of the threads and get all the information before you buy. Pick what's right for you and your ride.
  6. I've had 'Warm Gear' form 3 years now and they are still like new. I'm also a 365 rider so I get 5-7 day/week use for about 4 months a year. They are made to the same specs as Gerbing but a little less expensive. I love mine. I have the gloves and jacket liner with the dual control. http://cozywinters.com/heated-clothing/
  7. I think part of the problem is in some insurance policies. There are some that exclude 'dangerous activities' and they list motorcycles as one. If you're injured in an accident they won't cover you. They put it in the fine print. I've had to check that for every policy I've had here in GA.
  8. I think we all pretty much knew there wouldn't be a lot of change to the 2010. I'm very happy with my '07 so they will have to really make something happen to get me to buy another. After all, the '07 is paid for.
  9. I'm 5'10" (on a good day) and 200lbs. I have not made any handling modifications on my '07 RSMV other than Avon Venoms. The tires make a huge difference but the real issues is you being comfortable with the bike. I know you've probably seen or at least heard of low speed techniques either on a video or through this site. I think you just need to go to a parking lot and practice. I can handle mine at lower speeds and tighter turns than anyone I ride with on an Ultra. It's just a matter of getting comfortable. You can get used to any bike if you take some time and make it happen. If you haven't seen these videos you should really take the time and have a look. http://www.ridelikeapro.com/
  10. What gear are you in? The higher the RPM level at 45 the more of a lash you may experience. It will also depend on what you consider 'rolling' on the throttle.
  11. I'm using Firefox with no issues at all. It's version 3.5.2. The whole reason I started using it was response time. I've been having issues with IE being slow to pick-up keystrokes. I'll type something and there are multiple characters missing. It got pretty frustrating so In started using Firefox. I've had no problems at all and it loads much quicker than IE. My OS is Vista HP.
  12. We got laws 'bout that stuff 'round here!!!!
  13. On the manufacturer's website they have a compatibility chart that shows the GIpro X-Type as the one that will fit the Royal Star line. They're price is $132/USD. Nice product but a little pricey for the application for me. http://www.healtech-electronics.com/
  14. Seems a little dangerous. I guess it's that "I'm actually in a car" feeling you get on a Wing.
  15. I personally think, whether by design or luck, we have all landed on the nest overall bike you can get for the money. With PGR I ride with so many different people on so many different bikes it's hard to keep up. I think I am the only one who has NOTHING but good to say about my bike. It's really too bad Yamaha hasn't done a better job of marketing because they have built one hell of a bike. (1st and 2nd Gen)
  16. Why wimp out with a V-6. Go all the way with a Boss Hoss. V-8 Baby!!!!!
  17. I'm a year round rider as well. Heated gloves and liner along with a leather jacket and chaps takes me to single digits with no problem. I do find it helps a lot to have a "Turtle Fur" collar to keep my neck warm but I've never had a real need for the heated seat or grips. Certainly not enough to make me change bikes.
  18. Toby for President!! Who's in?
  19. Thanks Randy. Let me know when it would be convenient and maybe we could take care of both bikes on the same day if you think you need it.
  20. Good point. I have 55k on mine. I got the bike with 32k and I've never done an adjustment. Probably wouldn't hurt. Anyone in the Atlanta or surrounding area have the kit and time to help me? I'll ride to you and buy the beer.
  21. It was just a matter of time.
  22. I don't think you should change a special edition anything. I have a 2000 Daytona Grand Prix and it will always be the Galaxy Silver with the decal. My bike is a Midnight. If I painted it some other color it wouldn't be a Midnight anymore. You said that money wasn't the issue. Buy the bike you want and put the MM up. Make it a labor of love to take your time and put her back in mint condition. You'll really have something special down the road whether people say it's worth a lot or not.
  23. Now that's a real Harley accessory.
  24. That looks awesome Annie. Glad you're back in the wind.
  25. Yes I do mean on the approach and as I enter. Once in the corner I come off the brake. We're probably saying the same thing. I just don't use the back brake much. I will use it to maintain a consistent speed through the corner if I shift but then again that's an adjustment not a planned procedure. I also probably have the front a little stiffer because I don't really have a dive problem. I guess maybe we're getting a little off topic.
